They installed a government that was friendly to the USSR just like the US installs and protects governments friendly to the US. BFD!

Every German soldier who rode into Poland and later into the USSR signed his death warrant to be executed at the discretion of the defenders. Both Poland and the USSR exercised unbelievable restrain and compassion by not executing every single one of them. Raising hands when it became a matter of saving their own German asses should change nothing. Many in Auschwitz would like to raise their hands to live.
