'mężczyzna' of course.
Some professions and words describing character, features etc have '-a' endings too, e.g. geodeta, specjalista, inwalida, troglodyta

Quite an ironic fact in Polish is that the word for 'man' - 'męczyzna' has an ending typical for feminine nouns.

On the other hand Poland would had sunk with Germany and Stalin would had ruled till East Germany after the end....so nothing new here!

The outcome might have been quite different. Let's not forget that Churchill called alliance with Stalin 'A Pact with the Devil', so I don't think Brits would run to help Soviet Union if they weren't already involved in war with Hitler. And without being at war on two fronts, without strategic bombings to worry about Germany had the potential to win the war with Stalin. But the Nazi ideology proved to be doom of itself in the long run - we all know that Germans were treated as liberators during the initial phase of Barbarossa, but their barbarism towards nations of the USSR soon turned the latter against them.

The Polish attitude toward litter in public is certainly not one of the more attractive national characteristics and every once in a while drives me to a screaming frenzy.

Ok, the UK is not my country, but I'd import from here:

- Prices of 4x4s (which seem to be heaps lower than these on the continent)
- Doubledeckers (although their upper floors sometimes are hives of asbo-scum and villainy)
- Strangers (an average stranger is much more likely to be friendly or at least not hostile)
- Motorways (not the secondary roads; the one I live at is peppered with potholes like a good ol' Swiss cheese and reminds me of Ye Olde Land when I try to dodge these bloody holes)

I know an British-Indian guy with a Polish wife. They are happy.

And how many Polish men with Indian wives ? Somehow relationships between Asian men and Polish women seem OK to Asians, but I wonder how many are there partnerships of Asian women and Polish men really accepted by the Asians.

I'm with welsh guy here. Although he doesn't like Poles too much, he's a taxpayer. And embarrassed should be native speakers who make mistakes in their own languages.
