News / RHD cars in Poland - my campaign to change the rules in Poland [128]

Poland not to allow me to register my Right hand car in there country.

lol.. glad they won't.. and you ought to go back to skool.. your english is rather terrible for a british bloke. hmm

as you can see by my address i live in poland

you may have realized by now that PL is a LHD country and they do use kilometers too.

I have a specail adapted car as i am a disabled driver and i need my car.

i am sure they already told you that you're more then welcome to adapt the LHD car.. it's not hard at all.

? if i have to sell my car who foots my bill to adapt another car.. cost will be 12000 pounds.can you let me know as soon as possible?

you should be able to get this done from profits from the sale of your current car. what kind of adaptations cost #12k?

How on earth does one change gears with the left hand? Seems inconceivable! I'd probably end up shifting into reverse at 30 km/h instead of 2nd gear.

the rhd cars pose a much bigger hazard on already dangerous roads of PL.. shifting ain't all that hard... besides, i bet his car is also an automatic.

Language / Is math in Polish different than in English? [59]

Does the school programme differ very much? Or are you tought the same thing in different way?

not sure about now but my polish education was way, way more advanced then what i was "learning" under UK system and in the states.. pretty much bored out of my gourd most of the time.

Language / Is math in Polish different than in English? [59]

zetigrek

there are some excellent schools in the usa.. most of those are private though.. but some public schools also have good programs in them. it's just different.. the way you learn things is different. in the usa all schools work kind of like uni.. you cram one subject at a time.. at high rate.. in PL used to learn a bit of everything at a time.. building on all the subjects every year.. to some extent you have that in UK and USA too, but like i said, it's fed to you with a bigger spoon. i learned almost all the math (algebra, geometry) in polish grade school that they teach here in high school. same thing with most of sciences.. although the HS sciences were more in depth.. but by not much. i did end up graduating from a private high school here and it was, for the most part, harder (more demanding) then my education at the uni.

Real Estate / If you own a property in Warsaw, you don't own the ground it stands on! [9]

Another strange Polish law today is that in the countryside, farm owners each owns bits of an access road leading to other properties running through them.

that depends.. there are 3 different ways of land division (cadaster) in PL.. they pretty much match the partitioned lands.. (Aus, Prus, Russ)

I'd say that it is a good thing - it's their property. I'd say it is very democratic

not really, it's retarded.. it should be public land.. aka. right-of-way or easement

But on the other hand, what would you say if one day they decided that they are demolishing your house because they want to build a new road? :-D

they still can.. they meaning gov body..

Buying half of szarlotka acres to build a new housing estate to rake in wads of cash from developers is not a valid reason.

in american however, this happens all the time.. it's called imminent domain. it used for good and sometimes not so good.. i've seen it under the guise of redevelopment of a run down area..

In some countries there is also some the concept of road allowance.

in the us it does (right of way) but the land interest may extend into the middle of the road.. in parts of PL, it's exactly the same.. there are dedicated roads that are simply public..

News / RHD cars in Poland - my campaign to change the rules in Poland [128]

We have more freedom in the US than you have anywhere in the EU but no state would ever let you drive RHD car.

huh? ever seen a postman out in the country?

harry, r u as big of a dolt as you seem? so, according to you speed limit, for example, is m/h? lol and distances between towns in meters too? lmao

Can you register RHD cars in these states?

can you try to use reasoning to come up with an answer? sheesh

For example - gays are a minority. I hope this will help you understand why driving on the left is gay :-D

good 1. :D

Life / Why Polish people should be proud of being Polish? [370]

Don't say kartoflane!

that's right.. they are ziemniaczane.

As a Scot, I have to disagree. Poles have designed/invented some amazing things and have shown their ingenuity time and again.

agreed

Life / Cold winter in Poland this year - Gas Shortages as of Late October [32]

Anyway when is heating by coal going to be made illegal?

what do you propose to use instead?

Yes, and it isn't gas.

what is it then? coal? lol

I heard this winter will be a severe one.

the weather men are never right..

I am sure she wouldn,t lie to me...????

lol.. didn't you say she was a 1/2 roma? she's spinning you a yarn, mate. lol moscow is way colder then pomerania.

Reason for the post: Why is Poland purchasing nat gas from the heavy handed Ruse-ski's after what they did to the Ukraine in what was it, 2008? Cutting off their gas supply. Looks like it's going to be a cold winter.

what is PL supposed to do in the mean time? building the other kind of infrastructure will take a long time.. in the mean time you want everyone to freeze?

History / What was better in Poland under communism? [67]

Russian customs. For example, a three kiss greeting on the cheeks.

that's not a russian only custom.. many slavs, greeks, italians and arabs to the very exact same thing.

Nothing was better under communism, thank God it's long gone...

that's not true..

People felt more secure about their future? What a joke!

as funny as that may sound, that is actually true

Pol3, do you always wake and bake? ;)

pretty sure he does.

You not seen the Onya range of bags?

no, the somewhat resembled onion bags.

Get a life people.PRLwas NOT a communist country!

you're are plastic as that is just a dumb statement as one can ever find on these forums

Calling PRL communist is kinda ignorant considering definition of communism.Only westerners call it communist but they have no clue what PRL was about.

by strict definition of that term, there has never been a truly communist country.. btw. not only westerners called the eastern block communist.. the rulers of poland called themselves communist too/

This is quite true. Most here think of P-Land a having been Commie back then.

it was communist tho

You must have be from the otter planet!

he is..

from what i gather, maybe some education was better?

USA, Canada / Moved back from Canada to Poland:). Here are the reasons why. [868]

It seems that Polish people like to make you wait,

get used to it

I will be closer to Europe

u ARE IN europe

no leaves changing colour here yet. Is it because I am north from you?

no, because the sea has a milder effect plus the moisture saturation is higher.

Language / "A" and "I" usage in Polish language [22]

You use 'a' when you might use 'but'

that's right

thus

Poles are dumb, BUT Brits are smart;
Polacy są tępi, a Brytole cwani.

cwani/y isn't smart though. it means sly, shifty or cunning.

Love / Polish Girl Doesn't Want To Touch. [240]

approximately the last four months. We've spent a lot of time together during these past months. We talked for hours, I've drew portraits of her, went to movies, out to eat, and she's now even living in an extra room in my apartment. I've directly and indirectly expressed that I love her

you love her after 4 months? really? hmmm scary

I feel a strong need to move forward.

hold your horses, kid

I hate having to do this, because I hate secrets, I feel as if I'm betraying the confidence of a private situation, but she won't talk, and I need to know what is going on, because I can't figure it out on my own, so help me someone.

seems you may be sincere here then.. take what you are getting (the knee, lol, sry dude but that's just funny) and enjoy it.. i'm guessing both of you are way young.. just be patient.. polkas are that way, for the most part.. if you are cool then eventually she'll open up but you can't rush it or you'll push her away..

there is also a chance she's not that much into you.. so be prepared for that..

good luck otherwise.

pay and stay friends with her.

gold digger

Id just go with the direct approach, kinda " girl you best start spending some time on your back cos this just aint working out for me".

maybe that 50euro is the way to break the ice.. lol

So, lonliness motivating her to use me as a prop just doesn't sound right.

actually it does

I'm bending over backwards really far, and she knows it. How can I know for sure if she only wants to be friends?

consider the advice the gold digger gave you.. it's very possible she only wants to be friends and/or is using you as a meal ticket

I'm strong enough to end it, if and only if that must be done.

that's probably so..

How can I be sure you are right she doesn't really care for me that way? Can you make me understand it.

she doesn't let you touch her.. get it?

They didn't give me touches, they wanted to touch and be touched.

see, you know better.

On the other hand, a prostitute and good moral woman demand some form of payment, either cash on hand or a promise of stability before sex occurs.

haha, great observation my man.

There are a lot of intelligent, very gorgeous American artist women who are monogamous and who'd have sex like in the first week of dating. It's four months and I can't even hold her hand, come on.

yup, you do know.. go with your inner feeling.. it's never ever wrong

I may tell her about this anyway so she can read all your gossip, at least she'll know everything was from a truthful insider, yours truly.

no, do not do that.. it's highly likely she'll be pissed..

She is encouraging gossip and potential misunderstanding.

yup.. and i think you already know that you probably should just move on.. life's too short to play games.. find another and be happy.

just wait for her to touch you first ...lol

lol.. no, it'll never happen, i feel

And she doesn't respond when you ask her about it because her only possible response would mean an end to her free ride.

ok,this is one of the v. few things i will agree with tz on.

I'm curious about this too. Seem like you have problems understanding girls.

why is that? not all women play games and i agree with him, just the stupid ones do.. the ones worth anything don't are up front from the get-go..

She is a friend, not that great of a friend if she is being insensitive and just using me.

exactly

If she doesn't answer you then you have your answer.

he already has the answer but doesn't seem to believe it.

Those who don't like massages are 'touched' in the head.

lol.. this thread is beginning to be "rich"

To be honest, I think you are wasting minutes with her. Kick her sorry butt outta there.

agreed

There's always the 'rape option'.

and then you wonder why people here hate your stupid arse.. seriously man, that was inappropriate as it gets.

True words. But there is a difference. You are in a committed, caring relationship between two adults, poor Popcorn is in a relationship with a leech.

and she has had plenty of space and seems to want more.. move one popcorn.

but she tells me that maybe some unattractive person we are acquainted with may want one.

dude, she's not into you.. you're wasting your efforts here

I played a similar game, and we laughed. But, still, no confirmation.

that is a confirmation..

I don't think it's forcing anything except her hand. There's nothing wrong with asking someone if they have feelings for you. And I assume that if she doesn't that you'd then want to alter yours and hers situation. Because at this point it seems one sided. From over here anyway...

yup, stand up for yourself

I have asked. She becomes expressionless, almost slightly irritable. Even if calm, and sweet in the asking, she avoids eye contact and says nothing. She will even walk away without saying goodbye. She has done it several times.

again, this is a lost cause.. move along and dump this leech

Maybe even try some alcohol to loosen her up.

no, that's dishonest, really

But first, I will teaze.

he said tease out.. that doesn't mean to tease.. that means work out gently..

Remember, some women like a challenge. If they can't get what they want, they try much harder to get it in other creative ways. If you hold back, or come off like you don't really care, that may motivate her to pursue you.

this is playing a game.. kind of waste of time as from what i read, she just isn't all that into him

I prefer to build things on truth.

and stick with that.. but you have to be selective with information.. not everything is meant to be shared.. just remember that

Well, you must beat your horse and get it under control :)

lmao

but she has led me to believe some are not true and the others she just freezes and abruptly ends the conversation.

the answer is in those she freezes on.. and that answer is the negative

Let us know when you have gotten to her bottom.

:D

You overanalyze you get nowhere.Mental masturbation from overanalyzing.Offer your room to another girl.

that's the bottom line..nicely said

There are still women out there that do not want to give 'it' up until they are married. Until then she might not want any sign of impropriety, or be accused of being a tease.

but why not just say that from the start.. keeping the guy in the dark isn't ok.

She really wanted to know, so I told her the polishforums.com.

big mistake man.. mark my words

Run girl, run!!!
Szukaj innego mieszkania!

jeez.. after all the other advice you give him now you say that.. WTF?

Dude, don't get you're hopes too high.

This is just crazy! Do you really want her seeing all this? :D

yup and exactly... it's a bad move, imho

Of course she would want to know, but man that was one dumb thing to do.

probably shot his chances not that he had any anyway.. she'll give him an answer in 2 days? wtf? that doesn't sound right either..

USA, Canada / Poles and American Poles. What do you think about those two groups and their interactions. [85]

Well, Pole in America like yourself is one

no, i'm a Pole only.. i am not an american

then if someone was born in US does it make him an American ?

of course

Sokrates is an American according to your definition,

and he is.. he has US citizenship if he wasn't fibbing about this,

American Poles who do feel associated with Poland because of their ancestors?

they are simply American.. i don't believe in - americans

USA, Canada / Poles and American Poles. What do you think about those two groups and their interactions. [85]

not really.. to me when you become a US citizen then you're American.. like i said, i don't care for hyphenated americans.. it's just divisive and just doesn't really seem right... i am all good with one's background however.. american of polish descent or and american of irish descent, i am all good with but no hyphens. :)
