News / TVP producer fired for allowing rainbow flag on the air... [244]

And there we go. Your response proves my point entirely.

"not wanting to see it [ltbt] promoted..."

By phrase that I mean people find endless parades and protests distasteful and innapropriate for their family life. Not to mention Poland being a Catholic country those kind of displays are offensive to a lot of people.

Of course, by your response I suspect you have a bigoted kind of tolerance only extending to respecting one sides views. This is fairly typical "I demand respect and tolerance but only for my views"

I've said my piece so I'll leave it at that unless you want to have an adult debate with reasoned arguments.

News / TVP producer fired for allowing rainbow flag on the air... [244]

Bigot - a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices.

I would say that encompasses both extremes of the pro and anti lgbt movements unable to have a sensible rational discussion about different views.

The silent majority of the rest of us care not what two or more adult consenting humans want to do with/to each other, and we hold no ill will or feeelings towards people with different preferences. We just don't want to see it in person or promoted in front of us and our family. Sexuality is a private thing between a person and their partner (s).

If there is an opposing reply to this post - don't be a bigot and respond with insults, be an adult and respond with considered words and your own viewpoint.

News / EU, Germany, Euros and Poland. [54]

It's a win win if you want to be part of united States of EU, ruled under one big blue flag by Germany from Brussels.

Not such a win if you treasure the different cultures and countries of Europe.

If it were just a trading block that'd be great but it's not. It's an ever expanding monster of beauracracy and jobs for yet more corrupted lazy politicians with even less accountability than in a nation state.

Law / Extortion or a Business Model [6]

I hope you still have a copy of your original contract somewhere. Assuming you do then it will be quite clear if it's a contract that ends after 12 months or is automatically renewed unless otherwise cancelled by yourself.

If you don't have a copy of it then ask for a copy. If they don't have a copy well there is no contract then.

Everything should be in writing so there is clear evidence of what has been said.

News / Poland to get the newest version of M1A2 Abrams tank [90]

Large numbers of tanks are a waste of money in modern warfare. Easily taken out by planes, drones, mines, modern hand held launchers etc.

If two 1st world countries go to war now it will be missiles fired from hundreds/thousands of miles away along with bombing from planes, not some great ww2 style land invasion.

News / EU, Germany, Euros and Poland. [54]

Of course poles are in favour of eu membership as they get free money and free travel. They aren't in favour of the EU dictating their laws at home though and as soon as Poland is a net contributor to eu funds the opinion will change.

Work / Moving to Poland, Working for a UK Company [34]

You can work in poland for a UK company but it isn't simple as your UK company becomes liable to pay employers contributions to polish authorities (but then they wouldn't pay to uk authorities).

There are international payroll companies that can help you and your employer sort this out but it requires your employer to be pretty flexible and for you to be prepared to pay whatever admin fees the payroll company take (as your uk employer won't want to pay).

On the plus side you'll be registered for nfz too as you'll be paying ss in poland. If you have dependents (spouse, kids etc.) they will also be insured with nfz via your contributions.

Work / Driving License Penalty Point Checks [5]

Hi there, apologies, it seems the rules have changed for EU nationals in UK. Although not for UK nationals in Poland. According to the DVLA as long as they aquired their licence in the EU they can drive cat A/B on their licence until 67 before they have to swap it.

The rules are more complicated for other vehicles but their is a dvla checker here you can use:

gov.uk/exchange-foreign-driving-licence

Having said the above, they can still swap their licence voluntarily and I would make that a condition of their employment with you as it simplifies your checks making it easier for your business to be compliant with your insurance for example. It also validates that their licence was indeed valid to begin with and not a counterfeit.

Work / Driving License Penalty Point Checks [5]

Best thing you can do is ask your drivers if they have lived in the UK for 6 months. If they have they must swap their polish driving licence or they are breaking the law. Once they've swapped their licence tou can do your usual uk checks.

To answer your original question I think in theory yes they can but making them swap their licence to a UK one will be the best thing for your business. They won't need to retake any tests.

Travel / Polish people have a weird attitude torwards tourists [83]

With respect Pawian, the left are extremely aggressive, preaching tolerance while practicing extreme censorship of any views or debate that challange their narrative.

What the world needs is grown adults that can debate openly and agree to disagree sometimes rather than endless protests and cancel culture **** which actually fuels hatred.

News / Chances of Poland in case of war between EU (ie western Europe) and Visegrad Group ? [80]

Lol you would be turned to ash on the the first day of battle from thousands of missiles smashing your infrastructure to pieces. You wouldn't even see the enemy as they would be sat hundreds of miles away pressing buttons to turn your cities to rubble from the comfort of an office chair. Be proud of your country but don't be delusional, Eastern Europe combined would be no match for any western army individually let alone all of them together

News / Chances of Poland in case of war between EU (ie western Europe) and Visegrad Group ? [80]

The question was one of who would win - western vs eastern europe and it would obviously be western europe with their more advanced and better funded military. Funny how any Pole can criticise France for being defeated quickly considering how easily the germans and russians walked over Poland. It's good to be proud of ones country but try not to be delusional.

News / Chances of Poland in case of war between EU (ie western Europe) and Visegrad Group ? [80]

More like how germany smashed Poland in ww2 only easier. Day 1 - declaration of war by whichever side. Day 2 eastern europe captials nuked. Day 3 eastern europe surrenders or faces more nukes/ballistic missiles. All infrastructure decimated easily by ballistic missiles from afar. Within days eastern europe has no cities, power, water or hospitals.

Sorry but if you're talking about war with both sides using their arsenals then France's nukes vs Polands turnip farmers won't be much competition.

Life / Polish Organizational Skills [83]

@pawian
Because - Proper Planning Prevents **** Poor Performance.

i.e. when you know you have your task/paperwork to do, if you do it as soon as you can you have time to fix issues if there is a problem rather than having to rush around last minute. That's just common sense.

Although common sense isn't very common...

Life / Poles turn their backs on organised religion. [85]

Ironside, it seems English is not your mother tongue which is why you can't comprehend what I wrote. I would also say you are probably not a Christian due to the way you conduct your conversation with others. I am more than happy to reply in the same manner.

Maybe you are a little bit on the adhd spectrum as your posts certainly come across that way, quoting only the first part of a sentence possibly because your attention span waned a few words in and you got confused and angry and threw your tippy cup at mommy?

I could try and clarify my earlier post a bit more but it is difficult as you appear to be an angry simpleton so i suggest you take some English lessons, maybe read the bible a bit and get your adhd medicine reviewed.

Lol, I never said there was anything wrong with the priest having a car but he doesn't need a brand new top of the range audi paid for by his elderly mostly poor parishioners when the money could better be used to help the community he serves.

So to answer your points, the church teaches good values about humility, kindess unto others, not being greedy or gluttonous. This priest is greedy, selfish and a bad Christian.

You must be blind to see how bad the current pope is as Christian leader.

Frankly, you sound more like an ignorant peasant than I with your apparent inability to conduct a civil discussion.

Also I don't know where you get the idea that I'm being shafted by anyone, commie or otherwise. I'm very comfortably well off thanks.

You are right about prosperity turning peopke away from religion. Especially the prosperity of the local priest who seems to not care about his own teachings being hugely fat, grumpy and driving around in a brand new car paid for by parishioners.

Also the church seems to be abandoning it's own views and getting increasingly woke. The current pope is a terrible figurehead.

The danger of the fall in Christianity is Islam will fill the vacuum eventually (20-30 years down the line) which would be a tragedy for Polish culture.

Not a bad idea but that requires a decent spud to start with and I don't think Sainsburys will deliver this far :-p

Food / British food products in Poland? [334]

I'm missing proper spuds! Boiled/mashed flavourless Polsih ones just don't do it for me and they are crap for roasting which is the best way to eat any spud imo.

On the plus side I eat less carbs now :-)

News / Poles march against Mandatory poisoning by vaccines [202]

Also - It's not a vaccine is it. It doesn't stop you catching the disease nor getting symptoms from it.

What excellent medical facilities we could have bought with the money being spunked on so called "vaccines" and lockdown over the past year if we'd have advised the minority of people who will be at severe risk to stay at home and let the rest of the world carry on.

Instead we have no freedom, no money and no ******* genuine "vaccine"

It is funny to see the EU crying like a little b1tch though at the success of the UKs "vaccine" procurement. Benefit of Bexit ;-)

News / In increasingly chaotic world, diaspora of Poland moving back to Poland an masse? [46]

I think it depends on how one chooses to integrate into the society one moves to.

If you emigrate but do not integrate you will never feel at home.

Moving to a new country means you should adopt the culture of the new country and leave your own at home. That way society stays in harmony and everyone can be welcome.

That applies to Poles moving to the UK in the same way as it does me moving to Poland.

Life / Are gas stoves a must in Poland? [6]

Yeah plenty of houses with electric hobs and no gas. Most houses round here with no gas have coal fired heating/hot water.

And Atch is right, if you can smell gas you have a problem that needs fixing before you blow your house up

History / What Poland expected from western Europe? [78]

You are right. To combat this Poland needs to keep social security low to stop these freeloaders that want to bring their 3rd world values with them. They are not refugees they are economic parasites.

Looking at what has happened in the UK, it only takes a generation to destroy a country. We have Tony Blair to thank for starting that and successive governments of both sides have been pathetically weak.

Also need to tell the EU to f off with their migrant quotas. Germany invited them in, Germany can deal with them, preferably by flying them all back.

And end the madness of picking them up not even half way across the Mediterranean and dumping them on Greece/Italy
