News / What's the stupidest question asked about Poland? [414]

Once my friend was in UK and someone asked him to translate something for some Russian guy and when he said that he doesn't know Russian, reaction was like "So you don't have the same language in Poland?".

Really? I thought that Poles have the same language as russian too....

one of my mates came 2 with this silly n cheeky smile on his face and asked me:
is it true u ev got polar bears in poland n that penguins r runnin on the streets?? :P

damn that made me laugh :P

Stay it for us, russians. Everybody (and poles including) in the world knows that bears is running across red square !!!

Life / Why Do You Love Poland? [907]

Polish are proud people with strong morality. That's why.

Of course Poles are much more moral than other nations, i have no doubt that it's a moral heart of the world....;-)))))

~I love Poland because it is the greatest country ever!

Russia occupies 17.075.400 km2 and Poland only 312.683 km2, so about 54,60930079345535254554932631451 times greater than Poland ;-)))))

The country is lovely! the mountains, the flats, the cities.

There are alot of countries which have more mountains, flats and cities....I assure you!!!

Poland gave us John Paul (God Bless him)

AMEN!!!! And Germany gave us Benedictus ....hemmm, i think XIV......god bless all popes dead or alive even Alexander VI Borgia.....

True.

Ha...typical Pole in my comprehension is Tadeusz Rejtan...bravely but senselessly.

Bravery * inanity = stupidity

I think we both (you russian me finn) should look up to them...

As i wrote....it'a a "Tadeusz Rejtan Syndrome"....i think that Finns are more claver to cooperate with us than always annoing Poles...

Well... I am Lemko, and have realised that I'd loved Poland strongly... I had to leave the country, and to live some time in UK to awake but... It just happens. So I might be an example I believe. :)

So and you being Pole, love your brothers Russians which opressed your grandfathers in past, isn't it?

History / Poland's January Uprisings of 1863 [76]

If they are assassinating their own journalists today, why would they go out of their way to apologize to the Polish people.

you can`t blame Russian gov-nt in this assassination because you have no true evidences! So it would be better to keep silent, otherwise you will show your partiality and lack of information...:-(

History / Battle of Grunwald 1410 The biggest medieval battle. Germans smashed. [174]

Oh I see that It hurts when on the other painting of this artist Russians are shown on knees ...

Sure Yes! It hurts us, but Russians were beaten for many times, not only from poland, but from tatars, swedes, french, germans, jupanees abd so on. But Roman empire, for example, was not so invincible, as it is described in textbooks.

It depends from the fact which Roman Empire do you mean? If it is Western part, than it fell long before Russia, if it is East Roman Empire (Byzantin or Romeion Empire), than Russia had long term relation with it, and may be considered as a true successor of it and therefore of all Roman Empire. This fact was well expressed during 15 cent in wellknown phrase "Moscow is a third Rome, two Romes fell (Rome itself and Constantinopol) but third stands and will stand forever"

History / Norman Davies - the Brit who loves Poland and becomes one of Us [250]

Norman Davies is well known for his love to Poland. He Wrote many books about Polish history. After so many years he speaks Polish excellent. What do you think of him? He is often criticism cuz of his Polish-PHOBIA.

He hardly may be regarded as a historian, all his books just a biased profanation of the historic events. I can say it from my, Russian point of view.

as to Norman Davies ... he writtes about our histry in neutral way and writtes the truth

What !!! Neutral way? All his books full of rusofobic fantasies and thus, of stupid adoration of polish expirience...

History / 1612 new russian epic movie. Polish troops in Moscow. [25]

Be careful - it has as much to do with the history, as "Troy"...and as much with Spaniards as with Poles.:) Just a quite boring fantasy...

I bet , that even contemporary Poles could not perform the Poles in 1612 with true.

Like Kain and Abel, I guess?

History / Polish hatred towards Jews... [1290]

i must say that the level of hatred for Jews displayed on this website is a horrible way to show one's Polish identity.

That's right babe....Everybody hate Jews. I hate Jews, you hate Jews, even more Jews themselves hate Jews...And what? I am Russian, and Poles hate Russians, but Russians hate Poles in their turn.....What a problem? Or you just want to feel yourself some kind of exclusive?

History / Polish hatred towards Jews... [1290]

About 3 millions of Poles. While from about 20 millions of Soviet citizens, about 7 millions were Ukrainians, 2 millions Belarusians.

Well, and of course it is supposed that it wasn't Russians at all among the victims, yes?

Life / Why many funny stories about Polish People in Europe? [38]

I bet every one of you, racists, is a wretched coward, scared of physical pain and attacking us only because it is safe to do so over the computer. How about meeting me, Puzzler, in person, and showing what a strong guy you are? Would you dare, racist scum?

I don't like pain, but welcome to Moscow.

History / WWII - Battle of Britain and Poles [104]

Poland had the fourth largest army combating the Germans, the most highly decorated navy, the largest, and most effective, resistance organization, and made numerous other great contributions.

So much the worse was Poland's defeat. How it could be that owing all such forces Poland was able to resist only few weeks?

Con, within the same time yours lost territory much bigger than the whole Poland.

You are right, but we were still able to fight.

Besides It's not easy to fight when one is attacked from every side.

You are not right. Soviet troops invaded only after total Poland's defeat by Germans.

Sweden? Actually dont remember such campaign from 1809, the year we had our last military conflict with Sweden. If you meant Finland, well, it was right war, because needed some additional territory around SPb.
