History / Poland and Orientalism [115]

For the same reason people who criticize Poles are called Anti Polonia.

This only occurs in forums such as these, not in public.

You mean like a kind of anti-semitism hidden in a posting ?

Why is it that every time someone criticizes Israel or Jews they are anti semetic?

USA, Canada / U.S. Citizen to Study in Poland on U.S. Passport for Over 3 Months? Problems? [46]

the way things are at the moment u are american. no amount of arguing or history will change it. just because u can claim citizenship does not make u a citizen and therefore... u are still a foreigner.

I think he said that his parents are citizens, that would make him one.

USA, Canada / U.S. Citizen to Study in Poland on U.S. Passport for Over 3 Months? Problems? [46]

When I get close to the 3 month limit that I can stay on my U.S. passport, I plan on going to Ukraine to "reset" the time for another 3 months.

Ok if you want to do that you can. But as a citizen you are equal to everyone else. You dont see 38 million Poles jumping the border to Ukraine every 3 months!

I get that, as a Polish citizen, I can never be barred from the country, but as a Polish citizen traveling on a U.S. passport if I overstay my 3-month

When in Poland, you are considered solely Polish.

and again citizens CANNOT be exiled for exercising their right to be in the territory!

and it's already translated

I dont get it. So BOTH were born in Poland or not? Into what would you need to translate it to? Do you know Polish, I can give you a link?

Your father should have a record with the Polish government. This sounds strange to me that he has German papers and us but no Polish

you must enter Poland with your Polish documents - that's a law

True but for the past 4 years I did not despite on each occasion authorities knew it. From now on I will travel on only Polish documents though.

Temporary passport took 5 days for me! valid for one year.

If born in America, parents would have to register your birth in Poland. If they did not you would need to confirm citizenship. Note: I am assuming your parents were born in Poland and /or have Polish citizenship and passport. I do not know the process of confirming but you have it anyway. Polish blood = citizenship. The process is more complicated if your parents are descendants of immigrants themselves.

I heard of this silly law or stories of this law where they hold you back. I however, born in Poland and having citizenship have travelled to Poland for the past 4 years on a Canadian passport and had no trouble even though they knew I was Polish. I have not stayed over 3 months however.

I'll be fined/jailed/barred from ever returning to Poland and the EU..

No offense, but that is ridiculous, you are a citizen not an illegal African or some other. I have never heard of anyone getting banned let alone a citizen.

Life / IS Poland in danger of becoming the next multi cultural sink hole? [201]

Ive heard immigration in Canada is one of the most integrated, is that not the case in your experience? I know when i was looking at a Canadian visa's the waiting times and costs were extortionate, not sure if that reflects government legislation to curb immigration.

Canada's population has grown almost 3 million in the last 5-7 years, so it defiantly is not against immigration. The situation in North America is very different from Europe. We here are all immigrants, in fact many are not even born here. Yes, integration is strong and is done willingly. However in the home everyone keeps their culture, whether, jews, arabs, indians, poles, and so on. Everyone is ok with this and no one even pays attention to it. There is no real majority because there are so many minorities.

North America has no real culture of its own, rather it is a collection of cultures so no one can really claim that immigrants are "taking over".

I hope my ramblings get the point across.

Hows that going to work? and why would they come? what - Slovakia for Poland.

Hope that Poland will become economically attractive in the future. Even more hope that fellow Slavs will react more quickly than third worlders to this. I dont mind some foreigners in Poland as its all interesting but nothing on the scale of France or UK.

News / Visegrad Battle Group under the command of Poland [261]

This is exactly what Poland needs to do. Strengthen its European ties. Even more importantly with countries in its own geographical region who would actually care about what happens to it. I really hope this succeeds and expands further south to Serbia and other Slavic nations.

News / Don't let Poland become like my country, France. [630]

Sure Immigration is ok when it is in reasonable levels. In western Europe though there are many poor immigrants who come and stay poor and or completely un-assimilated. Immigration should be tightly controlled so we do not end up like France or Holland.

You cannot compare the situation to the us or canada. For canada I can say the immigrants here are well behaved, generally economically successful and for the most part assimilated. Even those that do not assimilate, it does not matter since these in these countries there are huge numbers of minorities that there is almost no majority.

But what if the government doesn't react? Then the door is wide open and invites hate and nationalism...

Search up neo nazis, ultra nationalists or skinheads in russia on youtube.
