Genealogy / Do you consider Gorals, Lemkos, and Silesians Poles? [35]

The only group that does not want to assimilate despite having resided in Poland for centuries is the Jewish group,.

And what about some Silesians? And the separatist movement?
And many Jews felt they're Polish as well as Jewish.

The bottom line is, those Polish Jews feel Jewish before anything else.

That's their right. Why should I have anything against it?

who do think promoted the Silesian separatist movement?

Silesians? You can't possibly deny the fact that some Silesian want to separate from Poland? And they are doing the best they can to achive it- that's their right.

Love / Are Polish girls open to foreigners? [78]

They can have romances with their own women.

And if they don't want to?

No reason to tolerate sex/love/marriage tourism because it makes competition tougher for European guys.

Tolerate? We are not some toys little boys can tolerate to borrow.

History / Terrible past for the Jews in Poland? [930]

You are actually right about the blood lines and citizenship. However, you do not have to be a citizen to become a politician in Poland

Foreigners can be politicians but they wouldn't go too far

bryk.pl/teksty/studia/pozostałe/politologia/24007-zasady_prawa_wyborczego.html

To be elected one has to:
- turn 18 to the day of elections
- be Polish citizen
- posses full rights as citizens

History / Terrible past for the Jews in Poland? [930]

I'm Polish and I would like to see friendship instead of animosity. And not only with Jews but with all nationalities.

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2237]

If the majority of Poles forget their history and don't want their fellow citizens to own guns than they deserve their slide into self-enslavement.

I accept your right to have whatever laws you want to in US but when I mention Poles deciding in a voting that they don't want guns you say we would deserve sliding into self-enslavement? Cool.I can only say that I'm glad that there are no signals that Poland will change the gun ownership laws. And I'm happy noone can force it on us.

You don't even know what the law is like and what changes some people postulate. You are reacting emotionally.

I know more than you think but you're right- I don't know as much about it as you because I'm content with the current state and I never wanted to have a gun.

However let's say I have no idea about gun laws:
1- I would seriously study the changes if we were going to vote on them
2- nothing emotional about wanting to keep the status quo.

Yes it is emotional reaction if you don't know facts.

Not if you think that present legislation works well

It is for Sejm to make those changes - where you took that idea from that you would need referendum for that?

I know it's for Sejm to decide I asked the question about referendum to keep it from talking about government and so on. I wanted to know what Zimmy reaction would be if the Poles decided they want to keep the laws as they are.

How would you know what I think?

True. I assumed I know what you're thinking- sorry.

So why concern yourself with those who just want a reasonable chance to get a gun?

Because it would affect me?

That law wouldn't affect you at all. Unless you would be unhappy that few people would be able to legally own a gun.lol

Depends on what requirements there would be to legally own a gun. And any changes affects whole nation- pro or against.

Life / Traditions in a Polish Home [10]

Yes, flowers are considered a nice gesture. Also some wine or chocolates.
Besides- Polish ppl usually take off their shoes when entering someone's home.

Life / Bribery and corruption 'fact of life' in Poland? [152]

Guys please- maybe we will go back to topic?

As to my personal expirience- I never tried bribing anyone. And never heard of anyone that gave any money to anyone. The only briebery I came across were old ppl giving their doctor 10-50 zl with every visist. Not to get something- just because they think that's necessary.

History / How different would WW2 turned out if Poland accepted Hitler's offer [219]

quote from M Kampf please with the sentence saying what your claim its saying.

I read it and although he didn't say sub human he detested Slavs and had big problems with them. One of his problems with Austria was that they allowed to many Slavs to live there. I can't remember the exact words but I remember the essence.

Indeed, threads like this one, that proport to give "answers" to questions involving massive counter-factuals, may be interesting to read but these answers have absolutely no historical value. History is about what actually happened and no one can claim to know the truth about how WW2 would've turned out if the titular counter-factual had actually happened.

True, it doesn't have any historical value but it can be fun :) Of course as long as everybody treats it exactly that why- as harmless entertainment :)
