First off, one doesn't threaten to leave a relationship over an engagement ring? Instead, at this point, decide whether the relationship is moving forward or not. Pure and simple. If you have questions or doubts that's a red flag. I think one knows if that person is the one. A man has to be head over heels in love with you. She really needs to make your life complete. You can't grow to love someone. It has to already be there.

I wouldn't say 'hate', more cultural to be politically correct..

Love to talk. The whole Polish community knows everything about everyone.

Frustrated by interruptions while having a conversation. Offended. It feels like what they have to say is more important than what I'm saying.

I would have to agree with previous posts about vanity. Always need to look a certain way and other Poles take note. Polish men (sorry for the generalization), expect putting yourself together and looking good for them.

Schools. Stong opinion that Polish Schools are far more academic and other systems don't have the same discipline and acceleration.

I think it comes down to availability of Cod. Polish way with cod: 1st soak in milk and lemon juice diffuses the smell of fish. That's the only difference I've seen. I have never seen so many variations on how to cook white fish of any kind. Traditional Christmas Holiday must have 13+ dishes.

RN: misunderstood what I stated. Read my previous posts. I am not a believer in importing OUR jobs. I'm shocked that Poland would do so. I wrote post #115 sarcastically. This is how the Chinese built roads are trying to be justified? Go figure.

Chinese won because of 'low bid' (60% less). First, suppose to hire Poles, but it's anticipated that their own labor will be brought in before end of completion. Wages, Chinese are to obey Polish and EU laws.

In my opinion, Genocide. Isolated group which ultimately would weaken Poland as a whole. Others, consider it mass murder due to the Russian military carrying out the execution. Genocide typically is carried out by military.

Your points were good and interesting.

I own a Building Contracting Company. It hasn't been a conscious decision to work or not work with the Chinese. They simply are not currently in this line of work. As stated, earlier, competition is with the Russian owned companies who employ cheap labor.

Agree, bailouts and selectively reducing the pressures in our economy and the political passage of a Democrat vs. Republican. With this in mind, do you think a recession does benefit the select in the long run and if so, how? Interesting point.

Agree. The recent Auto Stimulus already has repercussions. 'Cash for Clunkers?' or 'Cash Back?' Prime example of steering the select would be the Banks. How did that benefit the Country as a whole?

Poland was the beneficiary of much inward investment and its profile was raised by this injection of foreign capital.

Yes, Foreign Capital directed in the right direction is positive.

To be honest, I've never seen one Chinese doing construction in my business. It will be interesting to see the final product and quality.

the mentality here, they will likely be cursing the Chinese and refusing to accept that they were in any way part of the decision to look elsewhere.

I'm not in Poland. I haven't seen that mentality in the U.S. amongst Poles. My Company isn't competing with China for labor. That would throw a twist in business. Labor here is competitive with cheap Mexican labor. The bids are so low it's not worth it to even try to compete. It comes down to quality. One pays for what they get.

It's business! Reliance need not be the norm if you have a plan B.

With consequences. U.S. perfect example of the effects of outsourcing labor. Rely on plan first, never on B.
If Poles are willing to work for less wages than there is a job pool and a need for work. Typically, other laborers are used when no one else is willing to do the work.

Poland should be building the roads. A Country will only be strong by building itself. Mass destruction of the Financial infrastructure. Shocked that Poland would unify with China? Poland should analyze the consequences of relying on another Country. It's a spiraling effect; Poles will be displaced jobs for cheaper labor.

Patience. Take a deep breath. He'll feel more at ease by giving him space. Focus on yourself and why you need to figure this guy out so badly (is he just a friend or do you want to take this further?) No one likes pressure or smothering. He will be more inclined to be close to you, if your more non-chalant.

Good luck Dutch with your research. I'm interested about learning more. Our friends returned from the Ukraine with two twin girls, age 12. Their background and reasons for being in an orphanage would break your heart. They didn't speak the language and every step was encountered with bribes. The grandfather let them go for $200? The orphanage was atrocious. Their very lucky to be safe and be provided with so much love. My husband speaks Russian and they have relayed what has happened to them. The girls are so beautiful. It makes you wonder about all the other children. I know I couldn't leave without adopting a child. Everyone can make a difference. Wildrover has proven that! Keep PF updated. It's not well known what the situation is in Poland.
