Work / Average monthly salary in Poland is around 1000 PLN (few hundred bucks). [387]

Poles earn much more than You've written. average net salaries are between 1500 and 3000 zlotys per month. minimum net wage is 980 zlotys per month(2010 year) and this amount is earned by only 10% employees(generally cleaning stuff, dustmen etc.). If you have good qualifications you can earn more than 3000 zlotys, however if your qualifications are poor I cannot expect more than 1500 zlotys!!

ffs!I've got no bloody idea where do you get this information from.minimum net wage is 980?hahaa how do you know that, 2010 has just began and you already know how much they're gonna pay us?LOL

And of course it is only earned by 10% of polish people, another 10% is on the dole! And another 10% earns even less! And believe me, Beck's, not cleaning stAff earns that much money. I'll tell you something.I'm currently looking for a job. I've graduated from Uni, last year. I was looking for a job in teaching. They offer 1276 zlotys , which is net sth round 850zl.PER MONTH. A job offer, secretary. Expectations: At least Bachelor's degree, perfect english, some courses done of accountancy.max pay 1317.minus all the taxes and everything...1000zl. I've got all that and a company wants to pay me 1000 zlotys.for 40 hours of my hard work.5 days a week.Poor qualifications you say?LMAO.

Best you teach english at school or private lessons and earn 6000zl a month.

Honestly, mate-PMSL.

Love / All Polish women can't be nutters can they? [257]

you see, it's very hard to ignore somebody when you live with them. how often can you go to your friend's and stay there until your boyfriend sorts himself out, eh?

when mira realized he has a big wallet she decided not to "try" anymore as it was risky and she is married to he now

I've never been with anyone for their money, I would usually date those tight-fisted...

Love / All Polish women can't be nutters can they? [257]

There's really no debate about this, All women are nutters!

Excuse me, are they all nutters? Of course, sometimes everyone can go mad, I reckon it doesn't only concern polish females. I have to admit we can be a bit crazy at times and we can make it almost impossible for a man to understand us.But hey, it's a two-way street, we don't understand you,men either. And you can be nutters as well!

I remember dating a nutter. A real pain in the bum, couldn't stand his constant whinging. When I tried to ignore him, he went mental.Every time. Believe me, a real nutter:)

Love / Opinion from Polish men on this please (Polish men so 'spiritually' romantic?) [43]

Opinion from Polish men on this please (Polish men so 'spiritually' romantic?)

No, Polish men aren't romantic, men aren't romantic in general. They make you believe that they are, but as soon as it becomes to difficult to continue pretending, they stop. As if it matters. At the end of the day, you're now their girlfriend anyway.

UK, Ireland / Polish people in the UK using the English version of their name? [56]

she told name her name was 'Agnus'

I don't understand why people do that to be honest. I understand that for the English some polish names are hard to repeat. But if you're polish, u weren't born Agnus nor Agnes, but Agnieszka.

My name's Agata, very simple polish name, even for a Briton to repeat, however, I've already heard more than a few different ways of pronouncing it. The funniest thing, however, is when my English boyfriend asked me how many "r" there were in my name.lol

Food / What's on YOUR Wigilia table? [20]

typical dishes served at your home on Wigilia

I can't do without pierogi, however, it's the second dish I have, just after zupa grzybowa. I know that there are as many people who have zupa grzybowa (mushroom soup) on Wigilia as those who have barszcz czerwony (beetroot soup).

Herring variations (either in oil or cream, or I don't even know...) are a must, though I wouldn't touch it :)
Ohh, and, of course, last but not least, cabbage with pea.

Food / "Browar Jabłonowo" beer, A Christmas word of warning [18]

Think Twice
Right, I apologise. I should rather compare polish cheap wine to english lambrini.
However, cider is not much better. We all know who drinks cider out of those 1.5 litre bottles...

News / Freezing weather in Poland, 42 people dead in winter freeze... and no-one cares? [140]

umm...my basketball team?what are you on about?
I do feel sorry for SOME of them since I can understand that different things can happen to a person and you don't choose to be homeless. However, many of those people have a problem with alcohol and, when I read Amathyst's post it makes me laugh "You don't choose to be an alcoholic".Nahh, of course you don't, vodka just pours into your mouth without you being aware of it.ha. ha.

I'm not for helping those people until they decide to help themselves first.

USA, Canada / REFUSED A HOLIDAY VISA TO THE U.S CAUSE IM POLISH [323]

CAN ANYONE TELL ME IS THERE ANY WAY GETTING A HOLIDAY VISA , NOW IM MARRIED IT MIGHT HELP THE SITUATION

My mate told me a few days ago, that her friend got a holiday visa to the U.S. Unfortunatelly people responsible for "letting people in" to America simply told that person:No, you're not welcome here( I'm sorry but I don't know how it works to be honest), and he had to go home. Paid a lot for plane tickets and this was the end of his trip to the U.S.

So now he's always applying for a working visa, since holiday visa for Poles means sh*t to Americans.

Yeah...they are very brutal for a few days.Just like at the moment. It's -12 C in my city and it has been like this for the past four days. But it's getting warmer starting on Tues.

Language / Nice Polish phrases to say to men [76]

Right...he's just asked you out and already calls you "skarbie" and "kochanie"?
To me, depending on how close you are with each other, you can call him "słońce" or maybe "kochanie" as well? I'm not sure to be honest, since I haven't used such terms for a while. I'd rather call somebody by their name.

News / What Poland can't do right [113]

welshguyinpola
I'd agree on polish bread.and maybe hairdressers.
and that's it.
I'm not sure about polish girls though, since there are also many of them who are actually ugly.or can' dress properly. but i guess it happens in every country;)

there's a lot that poland cant do well, starting with economy...hopefully one day our government will sort it out.
as for fish, milk and other stuff...where did you get this opinion from?
i also agree with one person who stated that "we" can't build roads.because "we"can't and i'm not sure whether one day we'll learn how to do it fast and efficiently.

as for krystal's post-lmao! I don't know where you learnt that polish girls work for playoboy and later become unemployed.or don't wear underwear.i can assure you that i DO wear underwear as well as my girlfriends.

what's more,

Polish ladies do not act like ladies, they get so drunk and passed out on roads or sidewalk in pulbic place.

i've seen so many british girls doing that, however not many from my country!
dear krystal, i'm waiting for another post of yours where i can find out from more about polish women.I'm sure your dislike towards them is well-grounded:)
