History / Goodbye Lenin - we don't want you in Poland! [85]

Observe closely, and get back to me with your report.

You're really clutching on to straws.
No answers, no insight, no pretending anymore, just a made up game, by you, about numbers.
And again, calling people communists because they are not Nazis has got to be the stupidest thing you have written, except for your continues support of Neo-Nazis.

On that note, I'll love you and leave you Jola.

You linked to a neo-Nazi site,

Linked to the ONR by the hip.

Here is the ONR site

Which blatantly shows the Neo-Nazi Symbols on their flags

Oh no... wait, these proud Polish men, in their brown shirts are actually proud Celts,
would you ever ....

what is your question?

My question is why do you defend these bastards?

You mean being a Marxist makes you a happy dick?

So anyone who is not a Neo-Nazi is a Marsist... ?

I suppose what else can we expect National-Radical Camp, (translation of ONR: Obóz Narodowo-Radykalny)
No doubt you'll try and say they are boy scouts and it's that kind of "camp".

So what are your views on Empik selling Hilter stuff? care to comment?

ONR also had nothing to do with the Nazis.

blood and honour

Nice T-shirt the guy has on, bhpoland.org

I could do this all day but I believe I have sufficient to get my point across.

Everything you know about ONR is from wiki. That's the extent of your knowledge. You

Ehhhh. no, go back and read my posts.

You don't have to explain what happened because I can read.

Although that post was not intended for you, evidently you cannot read my posts.

I can't recommend any reading to you

That, from what you have said, I can agree on.

Your country happily accepted the communist rule in Poland. Now, you come in...

Link it or retract it.

History / Goodbye Lenin - we don't want you in Poland! [85]

The opening post reads:

Quick reaction by ONR forces EMPIK stores to withdraw gadgets with images of communist criminals Lenin and Che Guevara.

My post was as follows:

a bunch a nazis bastards protest the selling of communist bastard's memorabilia on stuff.

Both Commie and Nazi symbols are illegal in Poland, so that's that.

It appears to me, that because the Commies were on the winning side of WWII, they got away with too much.

At which 1Jola states that they are not Nazi bastard, I then go on to show they are, which he comes up with the flimsiest ideas to cover for them, which I have just blown out of the water and now he wants the thread closed, go figure...

All the things I have said about the Neo-Nazis are solely about the ONR, who are 50% of the topic at hand.

No comments were made about what I said about the communist bastards, so I didn't proceed with that.

The Romans were also doing Hitler Salutes?

No.
So you are really trying to tell me that a "Roman salute" which you think is exactly the same as a Nazi salute is just coincidence and that such an action does not mean anything Nazi related, in Poland..

The salute gesture is widely believed to be based on an ancient Roman custom.[9] However, no surviving Roman work of art depicts it, nor does any extant Roman text describe it.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_salute#Origins_and_adoption

ONR use the Celtic Cross as one of their symbols.

banner they are carrying. It says: I'm a Pole and I have Polish duties.

So the Poles with Polish duties are using a Celtic cross? not the recognized Nazi symbol.

Sure if they had a big feck off swastika, you'd be tellin me they are Shakti into their Indian religion.

And the hammer and sickle are only farming tools.

You're full of it.

Is this thread about the Nazis?

That's who conducted the protest, neo-Nazis.

Sean ( I don't expect an answer

mere possession and display of them should not be illegal either.

If it's illegal to possess them, does that not just make it illegal?

I tried the OP's OP link but it's broken and I did find stiff on RT but I'm not that desperate for a link...

I don't know if they should be banned, that's for the country to decide but I think the Nazi stuff and the Commie stuff should be treated more or less equally.

I seem to remember some rule about all news needing an English language source or a translation of the original article. Whatever happened to that rule?

I couldn't find the relative information in English.
Ah sure you can use google translate and if not you;ll get the vibe from the video,

ONR had nothing to do with "nazi bastards."

Where I used to live, the ONR used to march commemorating the ransacking of the village and antisemitism.
They were also doing Hitler salutes.

Both Commie and Nazi symbols are illegal in Poland, so that's that.

Travel / Which countries (of the world) is a Polish drivers licence valid? [15]

Thanks for the replies,

with an international driving licenses

International D.L. not excepted in all states in USA

Maybe a more clear question is,
Which countries, outside the E.U., do I need to have an international driving licence instead of just an E.U. one?
And Which states in the U.S. do I need an international driving licence for?

A friend told me that you can use your E.U. driving licence in all the countries which signed the Geneva convention but that just doesn't sound right to me, is it?

Does anyone have a link to a website I can check?

Not any more, no.

Sweet.

I know that you can use an E.U. drivers licence in all E.U. countries, is there a time limit on how long you can use a Irish one in Poland, for example?

And which countries outside the E.U. can you use a Polish drivers licence?

News / Nergal should rip up Koran - Wałęsa [11]

Headlines are of necessity clipped - a cornerstone of of journalism. What do you think?

I think we turn into the things we hate and you seem to have a lot of hate.
You are the one consistently going on about media manipulation and here you are, manipulating the media.

Let him try ripping up the Koran in public and he’ll see what happens.

Do you know what happened to Terry Jones for burning copies of the Qur'an?
He was fined $271 by Gainesville Fire Rescue for burning books without authorization.

Nergal and Jones should be ignored, they are just attention seekers, out to make a few quid and we are playing their game, while they are loving it.

Life / Blasphemy not OK in Poland! [54]

polonius, extreme PC is exactly not being allowed to say certain things because it may offend people.
As for ********** , this work is not intended to denounce religion, it alludes to a perceived commercializing or cheapening of Christian icons in contemporary culture. (the artists words not mine)

again fiting your views stated.

if you want to be seen as a man of depth, you should look beneath the surface.

It’s now very common to hear people say, “I’m rather offended by that,”
as if that gives them certain rights. It’s simply a whine.
It’s no more than a whine.
It has no meaning, it has no purpose, it has no reason to be respected as a phrase -
“I’m so offended by that.”
Well, so ******* what?

did not intend to offend anyone when he tore up a bible and blasphemed against the Churchon stage

A gentleman friend of mine told me about this a while ago.

He is an attention seeker, he obviously knew full well that it would offend millions of people and will no doubt come out of this a very very rich man for all the publicity he is getting.

Like that idiot Terry Jones with his Qur'an burning stunt.

The more attention these morons get the more stupid things they are likely to do.

Terry Jones got famous for that burning stunt and has now moved into film "Innocence of Muslims film" again to offend people.

The should be ignored, giving them attention is all they want.

(and yes, you may all now point out the irony of me giving them attention while saying not to give them any attention:)

As for Blasphemy laws, they are stupid.

News / Polish teenager pregnant after rape - A recent result to an older story [34]

that the girl should have had unhindered access.

I'm glad I asked, I totally got the wrong end of the stick.

They were clearly breaking the law.

Abortion in Poland is banned except in the following three circumstances.
When the woman's life or health is endangered by the continuation of pregnancy,
When the pregnancy is a result of a criminal act, or
When the fetus is seriously malformed

USA, Canada / Do many Polish people in America hate Americans? [592]

i think your prejudice doesn't go beyond a negative thought iff in the situation where you might feel a moment of confrontation.

Sure has he not put 'his' name and address on here,
Won't give me his telephone number though....
So maybe it's just the verbal communication he dislikes (wink wink)

News / Kudos to RCC for turning Poland into a laughingstock... again. [38]

Would it be a correct to assume that those bizarre manifestation of Polish Taliban are merely signs of their frustration, seeing as it becomes increasingly and inexorably harder to justify their own existence in the 21st century Europe?

I think this is a correct assessment.

The problem is that the church will push away many people by such antics because most Catholic Polish people are not that gullible and I presume do not like such ridiculous behaviour.

"This is not a concert hall, this is a house of God and there are many Polish hymns which can be sung. We have no need of foreign songs."

That will inevitably have a negative impact on the Church.

News / Kudos to RCC for turning Poland into a laughingstock... again. [38]

"Christ is stronger than the pumpkin.

Pagan custom can be dangerous - warn ministers

"The Church warns against engaging in any form of the occult and magic" - recalled Archbishop Leszek Sławoj Głódź in the message to the faithful of the Archdiocese of Gdańsk.

He also stressed: "Roots" Halloween "date back to pagan celebrations of the spirits and the Celtic god of death. Author of" Satan's Bible "and founder of modern Satanism Anton Lavey said that the night of October 31 to November 1 is the largest celebration of Lucifer."

i was reading about this is the Polish paper today.

So we can all relax, Jesus is stronger than a pumpkin....

I wonder if it is scare mongering or pure stupidity?

The strangest thing for me is that All saints is not an original part of the Catholic Church.
To change the people from pre-Christian beliefs the RRC adopted some of the preexisting festivals.

I really like All Saints but to put down other people's festivals/cultures is not so cool, at least they should promote St. Patrick's Day :)

Life / How popular is Radio Maryja in Poland? [163]

It is absolutely out of control.

I'm surprised it has gotton to the level your link states without much resistance.

he also queerly derives his authority from Rome

Even the Vatican have issued a warning:

The polarisation of attitudes among Catholics in Poland became even more complicated when Radio Maryja, a nation-wide radio system organised by the Redemptorist Fathers, became much more involved in spreading risky politics than in spreading the Gospel.

Wow, I heard/read about few incidents, mainly from callers but that's something else.

I didn't know it was at that level.
