Life / Price of cigarettes in Poland? [192]

Can anyone give me a rough idea of how much 200 Marlboro's would cost, so i know how much of my hard-earned to give him?

about £10 / £11 :) but tell him to be carefull how many he brings in I was a bit a cheeky biatch when our flight got diverted to B/ham (they dont really check in M/c) and I just walked past the long line of people who were having their cases checked - never seen so many L&M's in my life stacked up that had been confiscated...but I did manage to bring back a 1,000 :)

Travel / Collection of dress codes in Poland - what to wear? [95]

I would say something modest for church but when I was in Poland last year there were women (well girls) in short skirs and such like, I wore shorts and so did lots of other people...

Travel / Collection of dress codes in Poland - what to wear? [95]

Any catholic will know that you should cover your shoulders and dress modestly in church...But everywhere else anything goes even short skirts, I saw plenty of them when I was there last summer...mainly worn by girls under the age of 20...dress your age - mutton dressed as lamb isnt attractive in any country..

Life / Do you think that Polish people are rude? [951]

I have noticed since having to get the damn bus to work (I hate not having the tram) the young Polish men are the ones that will offer up a seat for a women, I see nothing rude about this. But I have encounted some very rude ones at the airport (all three times on my travels to PL) who dont actually get it that you have wait in line and pushing people is really not acceptable, so I would say as always there are people that are rude, not a nation.

Referring to Gingers post, I personally think they could have asked, it would have been polite, also the parking across the driveway would drive (pardon the put) me crazy, its all down to common curtisy and respecting your neighbours

UK, Ireland / Warning to British people visiting Poland!! Don't get drunk and smash the place up! [447]

I so agree with you! It's so embarrassing, and so typocally british!
Please dont smash the place up brits!

learn to spell before casting your aspursions or maybe travel a little bit more and you will see that there are a lot of well behaved English people out that enjoy and respect other countries cultures and whilst you're at it try stepping off that bandwagon you just jumped on!

Law / Hiring a Polish Worker - Pros and Cons [107]

Okay I have bring this back up to the top because I can think of a con with regards to hiring a Polish worker, a while back I got a friend an interview at a large corporate company (my friend is a manager there), okay the job was just a clerical job but the money was okay and it meant she could improve her English, plus it looked better on her c.v. than her job at the time which was waiting tables. When the company took her on, she said she would be going back to Poland in September (for studies) so they gave her a fix-term contact, then she told them that she would be staying for another year so they made her permanent staff (no real difference, she got paid leave and all the other usual stuff before)....Okay I will get to my point, she gave her notice in last week telling the company she was going to London with her b/f, her Manager doesnt believe it because they actually offered a transfer to a branch in the south because she is a really good worker and the company believe in staff retention.....they now believe that she had no intention of staying with the company for another year and had every intention of going back to pl for studies this year and the upshot of it is they dont see the point in employing young Eastern Europeans who will be trained (which costs money) only to then leave after a few months...like I mentioned about staff retention / training, I dont think any company wants high staff turn-over and high training costs

Law / Hiring a Polish Worker - Pros and Cons [107]

No need for that kind of tone but I will clarify something you overlooked.

I didnt single out Polish I said Eastern European.

Why should a company invest in a person only for them to leave, yes I understand that this happens with British people, but the point I made was that she lied, she said "oh yes Im staying here for another year" but now she's off back to Poland because she has saved enough money for her studies etc.....

Its made me look like an idiot and I feel pretty bad for asking for a favour from a friend...a little bit of honesty goes a long way!!!

UK, Ireland / A collection of noimmigration's threads or "STAY AWAY from BRITAIN" [978]

I'm always happy to oblige and highlight the fact the indiginous population of England is going down the toilet due to "lets not offend" attitude you lefties have! Crime on the increase with Jamacans and Asians dealing drugs and Africans trafficing children and luring youg girls into prostitution...yeah they're lovely people and Britain should be grateful to have them!

Love / Is Indian/Polish relationship possible? [370]

You have no idea how many times I've heard Brits say they hate central and eastern european people coming to Britain.

I have no idea either, since its not the Eastern Europeans that they complain about, Im English by the way.

ok but sorry she is a bit moody. is this a problem with all girls or all polish girls

Maybe a problem with you? Was she happy when she met you? Is she happy when she is with her friends and family? Is she just miserable and bad tempered when she is with you?

Love / Is Indian/Polish relationship possible? [370]

Then you have your answer. It has nothing to do with her nationality or her being female, she has problems with migrains and she has some family problems.

Love / Is Indian/Polish relationship possible? [370]

Well, some relationships are easy and some are not, if you cant stand the heat get out of the kitchen as the old saying goes...Im not sure what you expect to get from a forum...you are probably best confiding in a close friend who knows the situation, they are the best people to offer advice. Or speaking to your girlfriend about it directly, as Ive said talking on a forum solves absolutely nothing.

Love / I`m Polish bloke lookin`for an English girl. Is it gonna work out? [51]

I'm an English Man with a Polish Woman.

Good for you.

Polish Women are 100x better then the English Women of young.

What all of them?

There are not many good women in Yorkshire left.

Hilarious.

The good ones are taken

No, they're not, they just dont want to date you, there are plenty of lasses about who are inteligent and attractive, they just dont pay you any attention (no wonder with your pittyful attitute)

and the ones are left even the English Men wouldn't take.

More for nice Polish men, good deal if you ask me if you are an example of an English man from Yorkshire. Poor attitude and no respect.

History / Poland and Muslims (Tatars and others). [81]

Exactly...

Only problem with your "exactly" is that mohammed was a blood thirsty peodo, Christ was not, mohammed's followers are just like mohammed. Maybe Mahatmacoat would have said, I dont like your mohammed and I dont like his followers.

Anyway, Poland doesnt have a problem with Islam yet, but you have to admit, after the beheading of a Polish engineer (nicely video'd) they may have changed their mind about these peace loving people.

News / Crucifixes to stay in Polish schools [364]

Both groups have been working to destroy Christian values and culture for quite some time.

Jews have been doing no such thing, they do not try to convert Christians, nor have they in their very very long history (longer than Christianity I may add).

Christian values and culture for quite some time.

Are becoming a thing of the past, althought if you think those bible bashing nutters in America or for that matter Africa are Christian, then you are as mad as a mullah!, where as Jewish values are as strong as they ever were and are as consistent, i.e., they're not turning in to extemists.

By the way cheehaw, Im Roman Catholic before you start calling me a Jew (well maybe a little bit of Jew in there :D )
