Love / Am I The Only One Who Doesn't Find Polish Women Attractive? [93]

lastly I'm from Turkey.

do Poland a favor and go back!

Yet I couldn't find any Polish girl who is interested in or has an idea about those topics.

Maybe because your boring and uneducated and say mean things to women who really don't find you attractive and might even not like things about your face.

Genealogy / Chmiel - My Polish Family memories, traditions, thoughts and hopes [11]

first of all join ancestry.com they are all over the world and in canada so you would be able to find something.. then look at some of the sites provided by people.

the only way to start is by looking at all the old documents your family has.. anything, pictures, memorial cards etc.. document everything and keep a clipboard near to write or jot down anything familiar.. you can go back to.

Ellis island is a great place to start.. and of course bury your grudges and talk with family , anyone who might know or is older that can help you determine exact dates... family stories can be true or not true, write down everything.

USA, Canada / Anglo-mangling of Polish surnames in the US/Canada [22]

(Przybylski

Familiar to me.

Nowak comes out as NO-whack

never seen nor heard people mangle it like that.. unless your in first grade and are just learning to spell and sound out words.

can't pronounce my name? I'm not doing business with you.

you must not do much business , its kinda rude to expect someone from another country to know how to say much less pronounce your name if they have never heard of it IMHO. I would just shake their hand and smile and apologize for my pronounciation of it and let them teach me as I would them of how my name would be said.. unless you were born with the good ole pronounciation book attached to your brain and dont need it cause you know everything...

yes I know you missed me haven't you ;)

also during the Massive Immigration from late 1890's to 1920's everyones Name was mangled, only because so many came, high volumes of people passing thru the gates, who is gonna sit and try to spell or say someones name correctly when they have so many people to deal with on a daily basis. and the immigrants English was so broken or heavy accents, they didnt understand..

so for me, only an idiot would be upset , my thoughts are GET OVER IT ALREADY.

WOW.. lol that felt awsome.. I miss you guys

Genealogy / Polish and Russian DNA? [52]

Pat save your money these tests cannot tell you anything significant about your family history, its not going to be CSI PF.

on the contrary Barney, I am glad i did it, because it gave me more information then I realized, seeing that there are studies and even

a thread on here about this, and you must have missed it.

They may throw in a percentage of some native North American just to spice the picture up.

nope, none of this.

Add in all the ones I dont know about

although I did run into a actualy 4th cousin, that ancestry didnt know I knew about, because its not online anywhere, my moms
family which I think what they found was possibly the maternal side of my family, which I didnt even get close with names on
any of them being focused on the paternal lines, its due time to switch it up a bit.

might be more of a challenge, but I want to see if I can track down at least one.

I might have to do my grandmothers side from my dad.

Genealogy / Americans of Polish descent. How many of us are on Polish forums? [216]

Most of the traditons we still celebrate have to do with Christmas, and food.

lucky you :)

I guess I do the same, its just not the same foods

also got to meet my relatives in person then

excellent :)

Someday I am going to meet my Polish Brother and his family * he knows who he is*

Its nice to hear that your family still carrys on the same traditions. I can tell its fading here, festivals are not the same
like when I was a kid, the change is evident. I think the older generations made the difference.

actually I know they did.

Genealogy / Polish and Russian DNA? [52]

its not going to be CSI PF.

lol good way to put it,

Barney, this test is new, they are still trying to ship them out, you have to have reservations, because the test is newer. maybe the older

tests werent so informative, I never jump on the first ship that comes along, because I know they are going to improve it and they did

plus it was less then the old tests. ( savings)

What will happen is that you will be plagued by "genetic cousins" who have been given your details by the company.

is that from ancestry? cause I know there are several sites offering it.

USA, Canada / What's Kowalski (Hamtramck, MI) kielbasa like? [18]

Kowalski kiełbasa is OK, but it is made for the sake of broad American pubic appeal

Genealogy / Polish and Russian DNA? [52]

I am finally taking the test, this new test says for both male and female and can detect both maternal and paternal lines from ancestry

so I want to truely know.

Delph gave me food for thought because he said no one person is all Polish and of course thats true, we surely dont know how long

our ancestors were in poland , so to fight with him on that is really unecessary, he makes a valid point, one which should make those

interested in finding out their real DNA get the test and bring their results back * if willing to share* so we can see or compare, for all we

know some of you we are speaking to on Polish forums could be one of our ancestors from many many years ago.

That would be amazing to find out :)

I was told one time by a fella whom i tried to ask him questions about his dads family because their last name, he said well to be honest

we are all from the same family, havent you heard of Adam and Eve? I said YEAH, but I am not interested in adam and eve I want the

people in between :D lol

Life / Polish people are the most ignorant people in the world! [331]

.I do not bash Poland or any country

as most of us dont and still there are childish people who just want to get a rise out of others..
I see it as they still havent reached puberty if they find humor in making others upset.

sometimes people dont know when to shut up.

I dont have a problem with British, Irish, Scottish, Polish or any other nationality with a ish on the end of it , but I do

have problems with People who just like to hurt people for fun.

and as for this thread, the OP still ignored my response that Frank was not Polish , But Irish, so IT ISNT SELF PRAISE
In this case at all.. So Those who think so didnt pay attention, but that dont surprise me because it seems like theres alot
of selective eyeballing too going on in this forum.. yeah, I said it. bunch of EYEBALLERS YOU... lol

Life / Polish people are the most ignorant people in the world! [331]

but enough is enough, someone has to finally say something.

truthfully, your not the only person ever to bring up a Thread that starts Arguments.. dont take a bow just yet.

my cultural background supports self honesty and honesty about others

Bull Shyt, because if it is true, you would say *SOME* of the Few Polish People I met are Ignorant..

because I know Plenty of Polish Folks and They dont act any Different then anyone else..

they shyt, eat and sleep the same way we all do!! I for one am tired of seeing people come in here
acting like they are all doing something good.. but how is it good to get people all riled up. your fricken
whole Monsterous Paragraph was nothing but B*tching..

And again, I cannot stress it enough. FRANK was one of our IRISH Males who happened to think that Polish women are beautiful
maybe the whole point of his thread was to say that even inside they are. maybe he met many women that he felt were just amazing

who the hell are you to Judge a whole nation on someone else's thread and then come in here saying your all honest and good

GOOD people dont come in a forum saying a whole nation of women are Ugly.. so go back to your hole you crawled out of until you

can *HONESTLY* write a thread that makes sense.

Pretty much impossible since my argument is based on fact that is fairly black and white here, the fact that Poles are writing unrealistic things about themselves

you have no facts other then you generalized and as far as calling names, you are a hypokrite dude.. so go back and read your

paragraph its all b*tching..

Please enlighten us on all your so called facts.. and if you take threads from this forum as your examples then I know you are

full of it.

fcuk dude ever heard of a paragraph? masses of text like that are so uninviting.

agree.

Life / Polish people are the most ignorant people in the world! [331]

by Polish people posting that Polish women are the most beautiful in the world, etc.

Frank * OP * is Irish not Polish.

I never judge poles based on this forum

Thats good, Now if the OP who started the thread could do the same, because he should have looked at the
person who started the thread in the first place, this would have/possibly changed his thoughts on making
a thread which is useless.

Your post really upsets me because basically none of this is true!

same as your post can offend others, even though you are basically saying those things to retort
back I think you also should be checking into whats going on in the US most places of work are engaging in
preventive care , making people do things to Quit smoking/lose weight/ eat healthy/lifestyle changes big time.

Genealogy / All Future Polish Genealogy Researchers: Please Read before you start a thread [45]

1772 and 1919.

The First Partition of Poland, which the Poles proved incapable of resisting, was decided on August 5, 1772. Two decades later, Russian and Prussian troops entered Poland again and the Second Partition was signed on January 23, 1793. Austria did not participate in the Second Partition. The Third Partition of Poland took place on October 24, 1795, as soon as the Polish Kościuszko Uprising was defeated. With this partition, the independent Polish state ceased to exist.[1]

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Partitions_of_Poland

so in between the Partitions taking place Poland was still Poland until the had fully taken over by the third Partition.

yes, lets base our findings on facts , between 1772 and 1795 Prior to Polands defeat your ancestors did live in What was called
POLAND until the third Partition and so all we need now is a area Map showing which Partitions were no longer considered Poland
From those dates up until Oct 24, 1795.

but Now it hit me why so many Polish left,, I will use this in my own family history book.

As a result of the Partitions, Poles were forced to seek a change of status quo in Europe.[13][14] Polish poets, politicians, noblemen, writers, artists, many of whom were forced to emigrate (thus the term Great Emigration) became the revolutionaries of the 19th century, as desire for freedom and liberty became one of the defining parts of Polish romanticism.

a Summed up version is : Europe screwed them over!

Genealogy / THE MEANING AND RESEARCH OF MY POLISH LAST NAME, SURNAME? [4500]

I was surprised to find out the meaning of my last name and where it came from, which makes me ask the question of why

did Germany follow a leader that killed their own people and he was said to be Jewish, and claimed German blood.

Luther ( German first name)

so if you were German and renamed yourself polish you were pretty much toast.

Genealogy / Americans of Polish descent. How many of us are on Polish forums? [216]

Why would somebody have to live in Poland to prove that he/she is interested in Poland.I state it quite clearly I am AMERICAN of POLISH DESCENT.Why is it wrong to have an interest

Its not and you have every right to go there and every right to look up your familys line and you might even have rights to citizenship

because POLAND itself has a policy which states this... I forgot all the details of it , but you do have rights.. isnt that cool, you

have more rights then someone who say, came from scottland/uk so to speak and can get citizenship.. because its where your family
came from, same as if they were from there, they would get same privlege,

some of you give a lot of thought about your rhetoric

I agree, but its mostly because the same people keep making each other miserable, its just like a broken record, over and over and over

but pay no attention, have a look into the genealogy links area :)

Don't be so full of yourselves.I want to live in America and I would like to visit Poland.

amen!

Food / Origin of the pierogi [118]

flat dough is possible too.
See for yourself:

she used potato for the dough which would give it more moisture, I was saying the other type of dough
would become hard or chewy.. making it with the potato looked really good..

it also still looked more like a bread type. but looked really good. :)

UK, Ireland / Why are Polish people, especially women, so disrespectful toward the English? [437]

I think the root cause of this is that Poles are extremely judgmental

I would have to say over exaggeration.

I noticed ( those cousins I have spoken with) they want to know what I do, how I live, etc.
but I didnt get gutter treatment..

not all people are the same.. not everyone is poland is Polish, so your generalizing and based on
the place where you live.. which prob has some more well to do folks.. that can be said about
any nation, people with sticks up their butts tend to look down at anyone who isnt dressed in
mink coats. doesnt come exclusive to Polish nationality.

Im not saying they didnt do this.. but I doubt it a reflection of the nation as a whole.
I have heard just the opposite of what you described from many others..

disagree.
