Travel / Poland in photo riddles - part 2 [1680]

@pawian
lol Nope ;) She is happy about getting her crown back though :) What does getting that crown back symbolise?

@Alien, nope, but close... She's a personification of something. Of what?

It sounds like Formoza in Gdynia.

Yes, as pawian already wrote - you solved the riddle - well done! :))
Formoza is probably the coolest military base in Poland (that I'm aware of, at least) :):

formoza

Is it about naval frogmen?

Yup (you can see them in the riddle photo - they're standing in two rows), although, unlike their American counterparts, for example (Navy Seals), they were part of the Polish Navy for only a short period of time (not anymore). They do cooperate with the Navy, though. I think I've read somewhere that they're the least numerous Polish Special Forces unit.

Those frogmen have an intriguing emblem:

Yes, that sea serpent in the emblem is that sea creature that I had in mind when I wrote this:

what is the nickname of the sea creature which has it's "lair" in there?

Who is that female?

A merciful lady - death. The painting is "Death" by Jacek Malczewski:

So I can only say I was trying to be humorous..... hahaha

Oh, OK... I didn't catch that, I thought that I'm getting a teacher's scolding or sth ;) I'm often not sure when you're joking and when you're being serious, so I can get confused sometimes :P

led to a huge brawl

How will PF ever recover from this ;D

Will she forgive me this one more time? :):):)

I don't think there's anything to forgive ;)

But, Alien, thanks for the mediation anyway :))

Btw, my Riddle 1 from post #1,158 still hasn't been solved - I wrote what that facility in the photo was used for in the past, but the question is - what is it used for now?

So, two more hints:

- it's located in a city with a rather young seaport;
- it's colloquial name is a historical name of a famous island - when long ago Portuguese sailors first discovered this uncharted island they called it in their language "The Beautiful Island".

Life / Polandball - Internet subculture [19]

Yeah, 150 kb limit. Had to reduce filsize to post, hopefully your able to zoom to read it? :S

It zooms a bit, but I can't read the smaller text :/ I don't know what was the original size of the file and what programme you used for saving, but instead of resizing you could try to save it in lower quality (or try the combination of both) - this is how I prepare photos for the photo riddles thread, for example.

I don`t coz I don`t even know what it is. :):)

Me neither, I had to google it lol:

@BB, who's that ninja "mother"? lol

Ah, you know, he's so well known that it's like with Cleopatra - she was a queen, but people usually just say "Cleopatra", since everyone knows who she was anyway...

Also:

we should pay due respect to notable rulers

Well, he was an as*hole and I have no respect for him, so...

The tiger belongs to Nero and the painting is "Nero's torches" by Henryk Siemiradzki. It's big - 385 × 704 cm, 27 square metres:

Travel / Poland in photo riddles - part 2 [1680]

@pawian, I don't think I recognise this... đŸ€” Is this someone who's wounded or drunk?

surgery for his son which will take place in Germany

Sorry, I don't know where I got this "Germany" from lol - it will be performed in Paley European Insitute in Warsaw for 277 000 PLN. They don't even have half of this money yet.

Noble cause calls for noble actions.

Indeed :)

they have already saved our asses several times

I can imagine - someone has to protect us from those green aliens from a different planet ;)

Hint for Riddle 1:

What do you think they were researching and testing over there?

Torpedoes :)

Travel / Poland in photo riddles - part 2 [1680]

all of a sudden a GROM operator peeked ouf of a mole hill. We talked for a while before he went on his undercover mission.

Ah, I see... ;D Well then I guess you forgot about "squadron E" - space operations :))

OK, since Riddle 2 has been solved:

and the second riddle for a reason that I will explain later

Those two caps, which are being worn only by GROM operators on the teams, have been put up for a charity auction with the permission of the commanders of squadrons A and C by a father of a sick boy. They are really rare - you probably can't buy them anywhere else, so I'm guessing they are a real treat for collectors of military stuff and GROM fans:

"A" cap:

"C" cap:

facebook.com/groups/948525902604036/permalink/1020223792100913/

The father is collecting money for a surgery for his son which will take place in Germany - it's very expensive, they still have a long way to go and not much time left. If you can, spread the word about his auctions (he's putting also other stuff up for auctions):

Travel / Poland in photo riddles - part 2 [1680]

Yes, correct:

A - land operations, stationed in Warsaw;
B - water operations, stationed in GdaƄsk.

C - air operations

Are they? Apparently those are "classified operations".

D - underground operations

What... ;D I don't think there's such pododdziaƂ... (unless it's super-classified or sth ;)) Where did you find such info?

Travel / Poland in photo riddles - part 2 [1680]

Yes! Exactly :)) A, B and C are GROM's sub-subunits (or whatever it's called in English - in Polish it's "pododdziaƂ" or "zespóƂ bojowy").

So, who owns those caps with "C" and who those with "A"? By that I mean - what type of "pododdziaƂy" are A and C?

Btw, I guess they call it "squadrons" (?) - this is the back of the "C" cap:

But I have no idea about this C.

OK, photo hint then:

@pawian, I think you should be able to at least recognise the symbol on the cap. There's a letter "C" on the cap and a certain symbol of something. You know this symbol - look closer :))

Hint for both riddles - just like delph, I'm predictable ;)

Hint for Riddle 1: this building isn't new - it was built by the Nazis during occupation. Back then it was a research and testing centre. What do you think they were researching and testing over there?

Nowadays this building is used as something else though. What is it now?

As for the cap riddle - if you don't know the answer yet, then you can start with identifying what's on the cap. Do you recognise anything? Any symbol?

therefore, we should not resist the aggressor. Fu*cking brilliant.

Oh for God's sake... I didn't write that aggression shouldn't be resisted, I was just explaining what are the reasons for it.

I see that you guys are getting into some kind of frenzy because of this border crisis, to such a point that you are either starting to have problems with reading comprehension or you oveinterpret what I'm writing, despite the fact that I made clear already what I think about crossing the border illegally, about how this crisis should be resolved and that I feel for the members of Polish forces securing the border and their families.

I don't have time right now to explain myself and comment on everything in detail though, I'll probably do that in the coming days, so show some patience, guys, and don't lynch me just yet lol

News / What should Poland do with the problem of Belarus? [1800]

most people at the Polish border come from Iraq.

Apparently majority of them are Kurds. What do you know about the situation of Kurds in Iraq?

Your posts are very 2015.

Why? Because I'm trying to be objective and not forget that those migrants are human beings? I'm not saying that we should be letting in anyone who wants to cross our border illegally. But we shouldn't be demonizing or dehumanizing those people only because we don't want to let them in. Btw, young men are people too, not only women and children.

relatively low percentage of them trying to bring their families over

Even if that's true, they still could be sending money to their families back home, just like Poles do. My relative who worked for years in Germany also didn't bring his wife and daughter there - he was sending them money. When he went to Germany he also was a young man.

Not Poland's fault.

Partly it is Poland's fault, because of the policy of "push-backs". And I'm just saying that in such circumstances people more easily become aggressive.

A common myth.

Do you have any proof for that?
Paulina

News / What should Poland do with the problem of Belarus? [1800]

Let's remember that people with children are a small minority there

The men usually go first in order to bring their family later once they settle in.
I'm not surprised that people become aggressive when they get trapped in a cold forest with not much food, no place to sleep, no barhroom and toilet and being treated like a tennis ball by both Belarusian and Polish border guards. Some of them have been there for a month already and experienced many "push-backs".

As for money - often the whole family chips in for such a journey. I wouldn't be surprised if they were selling stuff to fund it too.

I don't approve aggression or violence, but some of them may have enough already - I think that's understandable.

Having said that, the way they endanger their children is despicable and I would never do that.

It's possible that I would if I lived in Afghanistan, for example. There are worse things that can happen to kids than being stuck in a forest, trust me. Much worse. We don't know what's the situation of those people back home, so I wouldn't be so judgemental.

So do I. Everyday. Not in the spotlight

How? By being a GP? lol Sorry, but that's your job and you're being paid for that. Stuhr and his wife aren't being paid for what they're doing. And it's hard not be in the spotlight when you're a famous actor. I also think celebrities should be letting the public know about such actions, because they show a good example in this way.

So how many people they helped this time?

Why don't you read the interview?

News / What should Poland do with the problem of Belarus? [1800]

@Cojestdocholery, I don't think Stuhr is a show off. I'm guessing that you haven't read the interview with his wife that I linked to. Earlier Stuhr and his wife took a woman and her kids from Chechnya to their own house, they lived with them under one roof for almost a year. She and her kids got an asylum in Poland thanks to the couple's help.

no much else to show.

Stuhr and his wife clearly have more to show: compassion, charity, empathy.

News / What should Poland do with the problem of Belarus? [1800]

A 20 quid market knock-off.

Could be. However, some of the Polish show-business people are going to the border to help the migrants, they give them food and clothes (and meet up with local people who are helping the migrants too), like a well known actor Maciej Stuhr and his wife, for example:

kobieta.wp.pl/katarzyna-blazejewska-stuhr-o-sytuacji-na-granicy-jak-slysze-te-historie-to-nie-moge-spac-6702964742007680a

So, another possibility could be that they're getting some expensive clothes from them.

make them anything but "poor, innocent pawns"

They are breaking the law by crossing the border (which I don't approve, btw), but wouldn't you be doing the same if you were desperate enough (living in some sh*thole where your kids would have no future or would be persecuted)?

Travel / Poland in photo riddles - part 2 [1680]

Lisowczyk

That's also the title of the painting (by Juliusz Kossak) and the original was painted by Rembrandt (you can see it in New York in Frick Collection) :)

I'm posting the first riddle to celebrate something and the second riddle for a reason that I will explain later:

Riddle 1 (the building): What is it? And more advanced (and tricky) question - what is the nickname of the sea creature which has it's "lair" in there?

Riddle 2 (the cap): Who do you think own such caps?

Life / Has feminism and lesbianism progressed in Poland? [645]

Is it? One can have satisfying sex without love and unsatisfying sex even when people love each other. So I think it's a bit more complicated than that. Love does make it a lot better though, especially if people know what they're doing and are honest about what they like and don't like.

So, besides love I'd say some other factors are:
- knowledge
- honesty
- respect

not if it is this or another kind of technique.

Well, having an orgasm for men is a given, but not so much for women, so it's easy for you to say :P A woman won't have an orgasm from just love alone lol

For example, there are sex positions thanks to which women are more likely to climax:

womenshealthmag.com/sex-and-love/a19902021/sex-positions-that-make-women-orgasm/

Hmm, this article is better though and closer to reality, imho:

yourtango.com/experts/sexyoudeserve/how-make-woman-come-fast-3-different-sex-positions-her

"Contrary to what many men think, the reason she usually outlasts you in bed has nothing to do with your size or stamina.

Rather, it's because most guys have sex in positions that stimulate their own areas of sensitivity, not their woman's."

So, the bottom line is - technique does matter - what you're doing and how you're doing it.

Life / Has feminism and lesbianism progressed in Poland? [645]

Are you now claiming women don't enjoy having an orgasm ?

No, I was just saying that having some type of sex doesn't automatically mean having an orgasm or even enjoying this kind of sex altogether. Sometimes women force themselves to have some kind of sex they don't like in order not to disappoint their partner.

Oh what the hell, you deserve it. ;D

And I've found this:

uproxx.com/viral/study-orgasms-through-anal/

"But it should be noted that out of nearly 2,000 respondents, only 31 women said they'd had anal sex. (Twenty five men were on the receiving end.) That is barely representative as compared to vaginal sex, which 730 women and 830 men reported having."

And this:

healthline.com/health/healthy-sex/benefits-of-anal-sex#orgasm-frequency

"For cisgender women and people assigned female at birth, anal sex can hit two hot spots: the G-spot and A-spot. Both are located along the vaginal wall but can be indirectly stimulated during anal."

So it looks like I was wrong (I didn't lie, I simply wasn't aware :)) - apparently it is similar like with men - just like prostate, G-spot and A-spot can be stimulated indirectly during anal sex. Higher rate of orgasm than vaginal wouldn't make much sense physically though, since G-spot and A-spot are parts of vagina, not anus. So, I'm guessing that either the author from the article you linked to is right that there are other factors than physical, or some women are built a bit differently and their G-spot is closer to anus' wall surface than to vaginal wall's surface. đŸ€·

Either way, that's actually good news that there are women who enjoy it, I guess ;)

But, wow, johnny_reb, have you become a promotor of anal sex now? :D I thought that for you it's a sin, "sodomy" and all that! ;D

I think it wasn't stated though whether the same women who had anal sex had lower rate of orgasm during vaginal sex. It's possibile then that those women had the same rate during both types of sex, because for them orgasm simply comes easier in general.

who say they've done it in the past year has doubled to more than 20 percent.

It doesn't mean that they've enjoyed it lol

And 94 percent of women who received anal sex in their last encounter said they reached orgasm a higher rate of orgasm

Link, please ;D
