Law / Poland's going forward while Britain is still trying to wake up [86]

. I live here and I have come to the conclusion that either Poles are lying about what they earn or they are really scrimping and saving.

I think its more to do with the fact they are prepared to pay a higher percentage than most other peoples toward a mortgage or rent. I pay 400 a month here for the flat I rent. Nice place, in the mountains ect but its just really a place for me to crash and sleep while I work. In Poland I would pay maybe half my wages to rent and bills. But in the UK it's more like a fifth that I'm prepared to pay out, mainly because I have a lot more options. In Krakow I had to deal with maybe upto 20 students vying with me to get a flat, so I paid higher.

Life / SOME OBSERVATIONS ABOUT POLAND AND POLISH SOCIETY [297]

You must be living on top of Polish restaurant. Try to move to Crystal Palace and find a decent bread, not to mention some sausage.

Try moving to Poland and finding a sausage that hasn't been stuffed with all kinds of crap, is the term BEEF burger the same there?

british cashiers are lazy as hell

Thats cos they're generally Polish!!! :P

seriously, everytime i go back they are so fast

It must be your home town or something, there are a lot of threads on here dedicated to the very fact of ex-pats being annoyed about cashiers being slow and needing the exact change :/

Off-Topic / I blame the Poles [36]

So, I stubbed my toe.

I blame yourself, being a Pole you must have been trying to open a bottle of voddy with your foot :/

Food / Stuffed Polish peppers & stuffed mushrooms - recipes [22]

For the stuffed peppers use risotto rice.
With the mushrooms, de-skin them, prick the tops and fry lightly in a dry pan, crumble some blue cheese, dice some pears into very small cubes. mix them together, take the mushrooms off the pan, stuff with the mixture and grill(or ovencook) for around 8 minutes.

Also if you use normal rice with the peppers, cook the rice in chicken stock and skin the peppers. mix the cooked rice with your fav ingredients and herbs. stuff into the peppers and bake for about 12-15 mintues, or until the peppers go soft.

Food / BREAD IN POLAND IS DETERIORATING [90]

Yeah there is a new fashion here for inventing new things, some are hit and miss, but the top class bakeries produce fantastic stuff! A pity we like to smother our rolls in Scooby doo snacks...

Scooby Snack po Glasgu = A large roll with beans, egg, bacon, haggis, sausage, tomato, mushrooms, burger, hash-brown and onion! Yummy but heart-attack food :)

Edit;

Scooby Snack

I'm surprised it hasn't been deep-fried!

Life / Racism in Poland - the future [441]

Have fun in Warsaw, ignore the knuckle-draggers, though I doubt very much you will come across any.

Should every corner of the globe be exposed to different ethnic people?

Geeez, not even allowed to go on holiday these day???

Life / Polish movies with English subtitles [87]

There was also one what the ladies love. But for the life of me I cant remember the name of it. It was about a woman who got a divorce, left her husband to build a little wooden house in the country and fell in love with another guy. Jak milosc or something like that. Im not into chick flicks but I found this film quite easy to follow despite not knowing much Polish at the time.

Also look out for the film Rezerwat. I thoroughly enjoyed this when I watched it in Pod Baranami in Krk. Since you are in Krk Ali, check the place out for Polish movies. On certain days they play them with the English subtitles on.

Real Estate / House prices in Poland to drop more or rise again? [228]

Psycho. Maybe people should read this [krakowpost.com/posts.php?thread=696] and decide for themselves.

Why admin or the mods continue to allow this constant spamming I don't know.
