History / Poles should apologise to Ukrainians first [487]

Can you believe it?

Not really. I read the article, the guy is a complete cretin. The very opening sentences are idiotic:

July 11 marked the 80th anniversary of the Volhynia massacre, when Ukrainian nationalists fighting for their own state slaughtered nearly 100,000 Poles in a matter of days. People were killed with axes, their entrails and eyes gouged out. Children were thrown against walls, and pregnant women were pierced with bayonets.

"Ukrainian nationalists fighting for their own state" lol! Jesus Christ. Maybe nationalism really is a terrible ideology.

This was of course on another level, as you pointed out:

Nijakowski writes, "Spectacular torture, rape, and other atrocities have a rational purpose - they cause panic, which accelerates the exodus of the population."

This kind of acrobatics I don't think I've witnessed before. As Velund and I have been telling you since Feb. 24th last year - step aside and let us smash these b!tches.

Is that one of your people?

No, I'm afraid this curious fruit is one of yours.

Sławomir Sierakowski, founder of the Krytyka Polityczna movement, is a senior fellow at the German Council on Foreign Relations.

Oh wow, that's a big newspaper. The title of the article alone is quite juicy: Poland's destructive grievance politics

@Ironside

Yes?

Sorry, but what doesn't make sense to Rusyns exactly, according to you?

Why they should call themselves the stupid name of "Ukrainians", when they already have a perfectly good name.

It was Pawian who started this, by saying Poland must apologize to Ukrainians, for taking Ruthenian lands. I wanted to show that there is zero relation between "Ruthenia" and "Ukraine", no matter how much Kiev wishes it.

Ah but it is still a little sh!t, no? It is not a big sh!t. Still it is endearing.

Travel / What can Poland do to attract more tourists? Llamas farm? [71]

Llamas farm is a good idea. A very good idea, if I may say so.

How about an international advertising campaign on channels such as CNN and the BBC, under the title: "Visit Polish Concentration Camps".

For many years Poland has vainly fought against the use of the term "Polish Concentration Camps" in ignorant Western press, and yet the term persists. Why not turn this situation to your advantage and make use of the established brand recognition?

You are welcome.

Polish Rusyns aren`t called or don`t call themselves Russians. They are Lemko people.

I didn't say that. However, even an idiot can see that "Rusyn" and "Russian" share the same root, and that is what I meant when I said there are essentially two "Russias" bordering Ukraine.

You are wrong to call all Polish Rusyns Lemkos. Only some part of them are Lemkos. Some still simply call themselves Rusyns, while others may call themselves Hutsuls or Boykos. It's just a subdivision of Rusyns. I suspect the majority of Rusyns in Poland simply call themselves Poles, since after they adopted Catholicism there really is not much difference between them.

When Rusyns from the Carpathian oblasts travel to Kiev, they tell their family, "I am going to Ukraine". Ukrainians don't understand their dialect - to the point that it is a recurring joke on evening television programs. The typical Rusyn response to who they are is:

"For Galicians (inhabitants of Lvovsk, Ternopol, and Ivano-Frankovsk Oblasts) - we are Hungarians. For Hungarians we are Russians. For Russians we are Banderites. We are, in fact, none of these."

The same term that Russians use for their language. Too many coincidental samenesses, that is why I said I don`t believe you

Well it is true - you ape! Open Wikipedia and see for yourself.

What?

Ukraina - means borderland. Look at the etymology in any dictionary.

I don`t believe you

What am I supposed to do about that?

Rusyns hate Ukrainians, who try to Ukrainize them for the last century or so. For Ukrainians, the existence of Rusyns complicates the story of their ethnogenesis. It would be much simpler to pretend that they don't exist.

As I already mentioned, Rusyn's call their language "Ruski Jazik", and the adjective they used to describe themselves is "Rus'kiye". They are kind of a fossilized proof that Ukrainians, Belarusians, and Russians all come from one people.

Don't you think it is strange that to the west of Ukraine there are a people called essentially "Russians", as well as to the East of them, while their own country is named "Borderland"? Neither does this make sense to Rusyns, and why they are reluctant to change their name to "Borderlanders".

Swedish (and possibly French) threads coming soon. Watch this space. :)

I'm particularly excited for the Swedish thread! There's quite a lot the Poles have to apologize for there.

Poles colonised Ruthenians, today Ukrainians.

I excuse you for not being aware of this, but the modern peoples who call themselves Rusyns are largely pro-Russian, and anti-Ukrainian. Go figure. They also call their language "Ruski Jazik". Also, very strange.

Congratulations, you achieved something Novi, Bobo or gay Velund have never come close to.

I have to admit, I feel fully inadequate now. There's no point for me to carry on.

Pawian has just admitted that Poland cruelly oppressed good Russian people, tried to Polonize them in the process - creating the ugly Ukrainian mutation, and did this not just over the centuries, but as recently as the 1920s. This is all I ever wanted to say on this forum. God bless you Pawian!

News / Despicable Ukrainian lies [144]

cleverly omitting the case of Polish business people who bought the grain.

I don't like this false equivalency. Businessmen are businessmen, and will do what they can to earn a profit so long as it is not expressly illegal. It is the job of regulators and lawmakers to police the playground. Relying on a businessman's morals or geopolitical outlook, to prevent resale of Ukrainian grain inside Poland seems to me to be very stupid.

Make it illegal, then deal with the remaining trouble makers. In fact, this is more or less what was done.

News / Despicable Ukrainian lies [144]

The thing that has perplexed me since this idiotic war began was the malleability of the West

This really was perplexing, and is something Putin certainly did not properly account for.

The Ukrainians have always considered themselves as center of the universe, as many smaller countries often mistakenly do. Try reading some of their leading newspapers with Google Translate, and see for yourself the hilarious headlines.

The fact that Trump was impeached on their behalf, and Biden as VP meddled to such an extent that he approved the appointment of the replacement to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine - has truly convinced them that Ukraine must be a topic of intense daily discussion in the United States. Add to this the fact that they had the third largest nuclear arsenal, which they think they would have still had if not for US pressure, and the psychological portrait becomes more sharp.

As Russians, we have bullied them mercilessly over their megalomania - for as long as I can recall - but are now left scratching our heads when we see how Ukraine can make the West dance to every note they play.

How on Earth did these fruitcakes manage to convince countries like the US that "we are dying for yours and our freedom", or "we are the shield of democracy, and the tip of the spear of freedom"?

News / Despicable Ukrainian lies [144]

Why... what a lovely discussion is happening here! If it's alright, I would like to add some updates re: further developments.

Ukraine's Vice-Premier for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration (yes, a real title), Olga Stefanishina, addressed the issue at a press conference today.

Some things she said:

"Polish officials say that European borders will also be closed to Ukrainian grain. Democracy is when the government acts as an executive branch, and not as an election headquarters."

Ouch!

She also added this gem:

Stefanyshina called on European partners to work together to ensure global food security and Ukraine's "economic survival", which means unimpeded Ukrainian exports to the EU.

"There should also be a compensation mechanism for Ukrainian farmers who continue to work in the fields despite the risk to their lives," she added.

Silly Kania... haha! Worried about protecting Polish farmers, when he should be worried about compensating Ukrainian farmers. By the way, many of the comments from Ukrainians under articles on this subject run along the lines of:

"If Polish farmers need protection from Ukrainian farmers that plow mined fields, maybe something is wrong with Polish farmers."

Off-Topic / Benefits to Poland of being annexed by Russia [17]

Which doesn't change the fact that Paulina may be right.

So far, it's been the Poles that have really excelled at hating - with the Russians far behind.

If Poland annexed Russia, I'm sure it would be no picnic for Russians.

If Russia annexes Poland, it'll be great fun for a short while, but then things will move on and Poles will be left alone.

Yes - Russians would definitely experience a worse fate at the hands of conquering Poles, then Poles would at the hands of conquering Russians. I think this is a good indicator of where the hate balance lies.

Life / Are Polish Women very promiscuous towards foreigners and refugees? [197]

whoever you are, you have no spine. Like a worm

I said many times, nobody on this forum gets under my skin more than Lyzko - not even Maf who calls me an orc rapist 10 times a week.

You haven't one scintilla, indeed one shred, of proof to back up your ludicrous claims.

OMG... I want to strangle you!!! You goddamn idiot, what hole did you come from?

Life / Are Polish Women very promiscuous towards foreigners and refugees? [197]

Any native English speaker would clearly know that I'm NOT and NEVER have implied or stated that "all Polish women were/are prostitutes"

Correct.

You simply argued, that the type of social behavior of women from this region is rare to find in the West, and as such can only be encountered in "Red Light Districts" - such as the one in Amsterdam.

The "Red Light District" in Amsterdam is famous for... containing many prostitutes. Does this mean that Lyzko is saying that "all Polish women are prostitutes"? Of course not - this is statistically impossible. He merely says they ACT like prostitutes.

Big difference.

Now everyone apologize to Lyzko, tidy up on their English reading comprehension skills, and back to work.

Life / Are Polish Women very promiscuous towards foreigners and refugees? [197]

In many Eastern Block countries, promiscuous sex, at the very least, forward flirtation, sold very well indeed

STFU.

In case you have not access to books or to other forms of media, there was such a thing in the United States as the hippie movement, summer of love, and all sorts of other wonderful things - which didn't slow until AIDS appeared on the scene.

This American "free love" then got exported around the world, just like Transformers are being exported now.

Every dirty, vulgar, ugly thing that came into existence in the last 70 years comes from the West - but our women are prostitutes? If they are prostitutes, in some numbers, then it is because your men love prostitutes, or alternatively cannot get laid without spending a buck.

News / Should Poland pay for gas in rubles? [194]

Does Udmurtia have any autonomy

Udmurtia is a republic, which is highest level administrative division possible in Russia (there are only 21 republics). However, Udmurtia is 70% Russian by ethnicity. The remaining 30% of Udmurts also look super Russian, except they have a high frequency of red hair. Attaching photos of Udmurts below.

does Poland maintain any trade contacts with Udmurtia

Yes, I'm sure. Even after Feb. 24th 2022.

and does it have to pay in rubles?

Not necessarily. Food, cosmetics, medicines, etc are not sanctioned (unless company is self sanctioning).

News / Should Poland pay for gas in rubles? [194]

That's why the ruble fell so much.

It fell a long time after those events.

The ruble fell not because of the war, or sanctions, but because oil prices dipped.

$100B being frozen in Europe is not the problem. Since we earn a $100B every few months, and have literally no idea what to do with it. Though we are thinking of some creatives uses.

Off-Topic / Poland - The U.S.A. of Europe [20]

Poor is poor

Of course, and poverty is not a sin. Some of my best poor people are friends.

While I entirely agree that far from every poor person qualifies as "white trash", you would have to also agree that the frequency of this term being applied to people from higher socioeconomic strata is similarly vanishingly rare.

There's a connection between low income and white trash behavior. Up to you how you want to trace it. Through a broken household, alcoholism, access to education, etc. etc. Origin is the same.

Off-Topic / Poland - The U.S.A. of Europe [20]

"White Trash" is a very offensive term that could be used in Poland as well as the U.S.

It is not used in Poland, or elsewhere in Eastern Europe. I can't speak for Western Europe.

I am sure the word white trash is used in Poland too.

Again, it is not. Why would this term have any currency in a country where 99.9% of the population is white? Only in America, where you have a myriad flavors of degeneracy, is it necessary to specify what precise type of sh!t you are referring to - a n!gger, a white trash specimen, or a beaner.

In Eastern Europe, "white trash" are simply called "poor people" or some similar locally-relevant term. Not sure if Poles use the word "bydlo" the way Russians do, but that's one approximation. Literally translated - it means cattle.

I'm sorry to say, but poor people worldwide rarely earn positive nicknames from the surrounding populations.

To me they are some of the most down to earth common-sense loving people there are.

Poor people are just like rich people - minus the money.

I would say a lot.

I don't want to live in a Russia that sends innocent Poles into the oven.

there are no racial hatred it cultural

America is a good example of a country where cultural hate has eclipsed racial hatred. Culture is just as good a basis for hate, as color of skin. If you really want to hate - then you don't need much reason at all. Right?

my point the glass celling in Russia for Poles wouldn't be that much of a problem like somewhere else

Wait!

You are saying that Poles will not be immediately marched to the crematoria if your wonderful country is annexed by Russia?

Some Poles can even become millionaires or middle class specialists? What about Russian racial hatred for Poles?
