Law / I have D Type Cel Wydania 10 visa? What EU countries can I visit with it? [16]

that means i can't travel to Schengen countries ? i think Poland is one of Schengen countries

google translate:

A national visa (D) authorizes the residence:
- On Polish territory for the duration of the stay and the period of validity for which it was issued;
- And in addition to travel through the territory of other Schengen countries for three months in half year.

can i work as a part timer with this visa if not then i have to do 4 that

According to: info-migrator.pl/pl-4-praca_w_polsce-12-zezwolenie_na_prac%C4%99.htm it seems that yes.
google translate:

Also, a student who is a foreigner , can legally work in Poland without having official permission , provided that studying day and has a residence card . In another case ( for example, when studying wieczorowo ) to work legally should have a visa with the right to work. In such a situation, a student applying for a visa , instead of a permit shall submit a written statement of the employer of his intention to work in Poland . This applies to students :

a full-time studies pursued in Poland - in July, August and September ;

b taking professional internships implemented by organizations that are members of international associations of students ;

c who work in the framework of public employment services and their foreign partners , if necessary the foreigner work is confirmed by the competent authority of employment ;

d colleges who undertake apprenticeships ( within 6 months), under the regulations of study or curriculum, organized in the framework of an agreement between a foreign institution of higher education and the employer, registered with the labor office competent for the place of residence of the employer ;

e of higher education ( in the Member States of the European Union or the European Economic Area countries outside the European Union or of the Swiss Confederation ) who undertake apprenticeships under the regulations of study or curriculum, subject to referral to the practice of higher education .

if i got a part time job in Poland how much my Monthly income will be or with this can i work as part timer outside poland like Germany ect. is work permit required ?

- minimum salary for full time job is around 1100 pln net
- you cannot work outside of Poland
- work permit to Germany is independent to your presence in Poland, You need German permit, check German embassy.

Law / I have D Type Cel Wydania 10 visa? What EU countries can I visit with it? [16]

according to: wadi

§ 2. 1. Wizę krajową oznacza się symbolem "D".
10)"10" - gdy wiza jest wydawana w celu odbycia studiów pierwszego stopnia, studiów drugiego stopnia lub jednolitych studiów magisterskich albo studiów trzeciego stopnia;

So "D" means that it's Visa for Poland only and "Cel Wydania 10" means that it's for students. So now you know answer to your question.

Life / Do Poles have a problem understanding American English? [76]

As a native Pole i think American English is the "cleanest" one to understand.

I think that there is nothing like cleanness of language, but only what you're used to listen. So I think that it's just illusion.

Life / Do Poles have a problem understanding American English? [76]

Poles have the most contact with American English through movies. Canadian, British, Australian or Indian English movies are nearly not existing in Poland. So out of all English types this should be the most understandable.

Work / Teaching English in Poland? I am American and I have the CELTA certification. [42]

You might be getting slightly confused with an umowa zlecenia,

No. According to art. 22 § 1 - 12 of kodeks pracy, "umowa o pracę" cannot be replaced with "umowa cywilnoprawna" (for example umowa zlecenie or umowa o dzieło) when mandatory performs specific type of work for employer under his suprevision and in the time and place chosen by employer.

But probably nobody checks it or it's hard to prove. Just in my opinion work of teacher in language school meets above written criteria for umowa o pracę.

Thank you, again, Harry. So, from that I assume the employer also pays the ZUS unless I have a company registered elsewhere in the EU in which case I don't pay ZUS.

when it comes to umowa o dzieło nobody pays ZUS. It's called colloquially "umowa śmieciowa" - garbage agreement, because in many cases it's replacement to minimum salary work agreement in order to pay even less.

Work / Teaching English in Poland? I am American and I have the CELTA certification. [42]

Umowa o dzieło means agreement for work. It cannot be used repeatedly between the same employee and employer. The person performing work is not a company, cannot issue Invoice. That's the reason why many companies refuse to cooperate with teachers who would like to work with Umowa o dzieło.

But I don't know why do you say ZUS is too expensive. First 2 years it's only 350zł per month.

Starting a business takes a couple of hours
The formalities associated with starting a business activity
You need a maximum of a few hours, and 170 zloty (if you want to pay VAT).

Economic activity is cheap to maintain and permits deduction of income tax instead of income, but it is not the only possibility. Depending on your needs, you can choose a limited liability company (z o.o.), joint stock company (SA), or various other forms. Choose a legal status depending on your needs, not because some random person says that Economic activity is great, and the SA cost a fortune.

( according to: like-a-geek.jogger.pl/2011/06/22/nie-zakladaj-firmy-przed-poznaniem-tych-20-informacji )
and can lower payed income tax, when treated as costs of work coming down to effective 200zł if I remember correctly)
Also person registered as a company in other EU country doesn't have to pay ZUS in Poland (but there must be some details when it's possible)

Travel / Can I visit Belarus in the rental car from Poland ? [17]

a driver may not pass the right to drive on this car to another person( to a wife, a husband or just a friend.

You're silly. The car was "stolen" by a son of the car service owner. I think that even court agreed to that, because ordered to return her the car. This article only shows how strange is Belarus law and it's implementation.

Work / Teaching English in Poland? I am American and I have the CELTA certification. [42]

I think that other posters will tell you that all jobs in big cities are taken and that you should try your luck in smaller and eastern cities. They will also tell you that summer is the time for job hunting and that pay now is lower than in the past because of big competition.

Travel / Can I visit Belarus in the rental car from Poland ? [17]

There was a story year ago that woman traveled to Belarus with her car. It broke there, so she gave it for repair. While she was waiting for repair to finish police caught underage son of the car service owner, driving her car. Because it had Polish driving plates, they gave it to customs office and sued her in court because she let underage to drive it. Court judged that she should get her car back, but then they found out that customs office sold it. Because it was sold without paying taxes, duties and permit customs officer told her that she must pay all this money and penalty. She decided to come back to Poland for a lawyer, but on the border she was notified that her Visa was revoked on base of not payed fine and she cannot live the country. So she left back to hotel, illegally of course, because her visa was cancelled. I think few months later after consular and ambassador intervention she was let back to Poland. Funny thing that she bough her 2nd hand car for few thousand PLN but the fine was around 80 000 PLN.

Moral of this story is never to go with your own car to Belarus.

Love / Polish cities with most single young women [11]

I ask myself how accurate are such statistics when they don't really know who lives where. Many people don't change registration place after moving to other city or abroad. Number of registered people in Warsaw is few hundreds thousand lower than estimates suggests it to be.

Law / Study in Poland with family on my student visa? [8]

what is the rule for Employment after post study work in Poland ?

As graduate of Polish university you will not need work permit, but you will need to find a company which wants to employ you in order to apply for working visa. Not graduates of Polish university from Australia would need to get work permit, which is not easy.

Life / Conflicting views about life in Poland? [45]

Dynamics is important when you want to invest your money into given country. If you want to simply work there, then important is current economic state and short term future. Even if Poland keeps high, past 10 years growth ratio (what is very unlikely) it will need next 20 years to get any close to wealth level of UK. People in London are not happy, because in the past 10 years their salaries where not growing fast enough and after 10 years of nearly no unemployment, since the crisis 2008 they have moderate unemployment level. I think that another reason of dissatisfaction in Europe is too big percentage of university graduates. Young after investing few years into higher education cannot find relevant job and feel frustrated. People leave Poland to richer countries because it's simple and salaries difference is very big.

Real Estate / Apartment rental in Poland: Termination of the agreement before the date [27]

19 - 21 doesn't sound so bad. It's actually healthy. Bad thing about the bathroom heating. It shouldn't be so low, because then condensation can cause fungi to grow. If you don't care to loose 1 month rent then you can spend same money on electric heating during next few months.

News / Poland's new golden age : shifting from Europe's periphery to its center [29]

from 62% to 80% in 17 years doesn't look like something impressive. 80% is around the level of Greece 2010.

Gap between the rich and poor widening? Not good for society if so, is it?

Actually it's getting smaller according to statistics. Your observation is recently higher unemployment.

Amazon is just one example of this momentum. several thousand (admittedly ****) jobs for Wroclaw and Poznan, a direct result of the improved road infrastructure provided by the EU and an understanding of Polands economy as a current and future attraction.

Wrocław had highway connection with Germany for a long time, also 10 years ago when Amazon was opening first centers in Germany. Probably Amazon is going to enter Polish market and starts from building logistic centers here.

A direct result of the strikes that hit Amazon in Germany. American companies hate unions and worker's councils. They'd rather close down a location than dealing with them.

They could build their centers in Czech Republic.

Then growth will slow down. It doesn't necessarily mean that unemployment will rise.
