Yeah...as a German I don't want to be bothered by these pesky always smiling and talking strangers either!

In the US they do that all the time...it makes me only angry! 😀

Hmm....I googled that....that's what I found out about that:

Opposition tried to kill Assad

Nah.....it started with a few youths spraying some critical slogans on a wall.

Not even that Assad could bear and now the whole country is destroyed, with millions dead, fleeing and homeless...do you wish Lukashenko would go so far? Laying the whole country to waste to keep himself and his clique on top?

You know that mocking politicians is a hobby and a duty for every citizen in the West? But somehow our "weak and spineless" West not only survives that but still flourishes, how come?

Before you discuss whether Lukashenko's 80% or Assad's 95% is real,

No, they are for sure not!

People don't work that way....humans are not that homogenous, not even those in your family, not to mention all those in a country.

The more choices the broader the spectrum of opinion. Every result in the 80's and especially 90's is so sure faked! It's just not normal....not human...not healthy....something is definitely wrong here, my guess is the counting...or...as in the case of Belorussia/Syria, the lack of choices!

Ach ja, the SED won during the GDR "elections" mostly with 99% of the votes...yeah....sure....
(The rigging was proven later)

Excuse me, but traffic jams belong to all demonstrations (to those with enough participants at least)....you are not in favour of cutting an important basic right just to keep the streets clear, aren't you?

Sorry for your personal loss though...

But equally every son could demand to end to the right of personal arms because his mom got shot. And I fear there are alot more people concerned (in the US at least)!

Velund, since 2020 Belarus has closed it's borders, has arrested thousands of protestors, allowed the use of lethal fireams against demonstrations and now kidnapped one opposition leader to jail him and mute his voice..

Does that look like a secure leadership which can build on the sure support of its population?

I personally think rather not. The contrary....that looks like a rulership which fears its own people, which has to use ever more drastic measures to quell the resistance...but the end is already known!

Believe you me, I remember....

I tell you both something from my experience:

For the 40th birthday of its founding the GDR threw a big party....everyone was invited....country leaders....so the world could see a huge parade....proudly marching soldiers in perfect formation...besides gleaming most modern weaponry....the whole old guard above waving generously back to its happily waving people down there....

Everybody could see how strong the GDR was....everything was running smoothly....the GDR worked great....everything was fine...the rulers were uncontested....

That was in the summer of 1989....only a few months later the wall fell....without many tears by its population at all...

You know what I learned from that? The power and glory of dictatorships is more often than not only a lie, a nice wrapping, not more! The bigger the sh*it they want to sell the bigger the parades and the "waving crowds".

The "weak and spineless" West will survive them all!

You see the poisoning of a leader of the opposition as "weak"? They got caught, that was stupid....not weak!

And especially when they don't give a fu*ck about "international opinion" which,

Thing is, they don't care about their internal opinion either....hence the brutal opression of any opposition.

Tell me Rich, if a government doesn't care about it's people and their opinions, what right does it have to rule over it in the first place?

Me too....

But here comes the thing, the technology (and Photoshop) have evolved enormously. It is nowadays possible to fake the fakes totally real....you can even fake videos....it's called "deep fakes".

A photoshopped head is today, if done by professionals, nearly indistinguishable....and I wouldn't put Lukashenkos dogs /KGB as amateurs...

Maybe you will be more productive in this search? ;)

I doubt his aquaintance with Azov in the first place....so.... :)
