Life / Do young Polish people believe in their religion and God? [150]

@mafketis
That's meraly written down observations of God's working hand in the world.

The Chinese were able to use that to their own benefit, but without the full picture they were taken aback by Europeans.

There are small elements to be found in many parts of the world, most useally regarding humans, experienced behaviour and certain spiritual secrets.

They all fall short however of God's shared message via the chosen people

History / Can anyone from Poland tell me about Auschwitz and The Ghetto? [625]

@Lyzko
I find it nothing strange about silent pay of respect. Besides as mentioned by @pawian anything would been said or stated would been probably viewed as antisemitic, and it's not the time to rile anyone up. At least from a Polish point of view I reckon

@johnny reb
Well that's opposite of what is taught in my family. Pat on the but until three years of age, none after being three years old if possible. Then it's other disciplinary measures

@Bobko
That's because they are too young to understand the need for privately owned property. When the hormones kick in, they will prefer seclusion to a much larger degree

History / Profound discovery - grievances towards Poland [6]

@GefreiterKania
I see, but then is the problem with people who have too much on their plate (personal issues, group belonging issues, other issues, addictions lack of love etc) who for one reason or another blame Poland for all his/her misery and leads on a very personal vendetta (example: Stalin)

Is there something we as Poles can do to remedy this? Or should we continue this risk

Simply put: Isn't it a bit unrealistic to put such high expectations of people, nations especially nations mainly lead by groups coming out from the bottom and having traditions that are mainly meant for those on the bottom. Either at the bottom of society or groups, the societal "hell" as most knowingly known as

History / Profound discovery - grievances towards Poland [6]

During a discussion regarding Zaolzie and Polish occupation of it in 1938 with regard to a video about Slovaks attack on Poland in 1939. I came upon a profound discovery, I think that one of the largest grievances that Poland's neighbours have towards Poland (especially Russia, but also Germany).

Is that Poles as a people are fairly free talking people, and feelings or fairness regarding historical moral standpoints and fairness seem to make Poland's neighbours have a harder time painting themselves as moral (on a group level) and leads to a tendency of feeling bad, mediocre or simply worse, in which again have a easier time getting hurt over Polish statements or standpoints and being unable to do the same (basically a sharp, evident and clear sign of difference between the two people).

So any of Poland's neighbours will feel attacked, without Poland actually attacking them. Which might also conclude why many of Poland's neighbours have no issue or deems it fair or oddly enough as justice to invade Poland.

Then assuming that Poles are aware of this effect and blame Poles for actively hurting them on a conscious level (which to me sounds absurd) but, is a potentially valid point. Seeing the reaction and behaviour of many non-Polish posters on this board makes me certain about these conclusions

@Heartsz
Most likely Polish or strongly pro-Polish German I guess. It depends on your experiences, world view and what you are most comfortable with. Where do you feel most welcome, where do you feel at home etc.

It is up for you to decide, and the surroundings to concur with it or not

Life / What to do if the neighbors is too loud? [40]

@johnny reb
Most people living (as in people, normal and not normal people/situation) compared as most normal people live and/or should be living.

I don't see anything strange about it

@Lenka
As far as I know, both sexes have a right to each other. So technically speaking rape cannot happen between them since they consented formally to a sexual relationship. Legally speaking

That the wife sometimes has her way with her husband when he is too tired or when the husband has his way with his wife when she is not in the mood is pretty much bound to happen, and they should make arrangements as to make it fine somehow (code word, specific items being specific places etc)

@Cargo pants
Illegal as in not being recognised, they would be most likely treated as two strangers performing perverted acts, who can in blink of a notice send the other to the courts on accusations of rape.

They just don't have any legal protection, I haven't heard of any policy or law regarding punishment for two men thinking they are married. Just as there are no laws for people who claim to be dolphins

Life / Which areas of Poland have the most conservative young women (under 22)? [49]

@Feniks
It's a cultural thing in Poland (honestly have No clue why)

People seem to be obsessed over it, growing up in Norway. Very few people iron clothes at all. Mostly just business types who try to look very presentiful to increase chances of making a business deal/attract people influence etc.

Most "normies" don't iron at all in Norway and consider it a waste of time (mostly due to weather/temperature conditions)

In Poland it's more in direction of being uncivilised if you don't iron your clothes

@Atch
Let's just say I had enough negative feedback, that my expectations are so low. I don't even ask about cooking or washing skills. I am positively surprised if she does not protest me opening the door for a women.

It's basically scrapping the bottom of the barrel, most places

Life / Which areas of Poland have the most conservative young women (under 22)? [49]

@pawian
You seem to be under the impression that when a man looks for a women who can cook and clean, he is thinking that she will do 100% of the cleaning 100% of the cooking.

Instead of the man not having to do 100% of everything and the women zero.

In the western world it is difficoult to find any individual that is skilled and cooking or cleaning, and most women in the west probably don't even know how to bake bread.

So it's not about finding whatever insuniation you have about conservative men and what type of women, conservative men are looking for and for which reasons

News / Unfulfilled promises by PiS [559]

@pawian
A long term solution for Polish farmers (at least in Northern Poland) would to make it easier and welcoming for scandinavian settlers, it would create not only movement, investments and improvements, but also reduce fears of Germans setlling in and buying out everything. Considering scandinavians nowadays are nothing like the vikings of old. I would say the risk is very low. It would counter the fears of German expansion and open up for further trade and development+improved relations with the Germans long term

History / What should Russia and Poland do to become if not friends, then at least not enemies? [945]

@Bobko
#379
What then? Finish the job for the NSDAP? Nuclear wasteland of a richly agricultural land? What kind of differance would you be to Ustashe croats that did their Crimes on Serbs? Just becaouse it will be nukes instead of barbed wires and primitive tools?

"We will finish the Poles! With refined technology!" So I ask, what then? Will everyone be legitimate without any complaints to nuke Russia to the Stone Age? With it the globe?

Where is Kalmar of Slavs? Where is Bismarck of Slavs? Where is the country that could create a United Slavic kingdom?

What then if Russia wins in Ukraine? Invade Poland? Germany? France? U.K? Brazil? U.S.A? How much bloody does the bear hunger for? How many more deaths is it interested in? How much more increase of pain and suffering caused by own pain and misery?

Suffering in life is a human condition when filled with sin, guilt, abandonment and rejection.

Do Russians really believe that Russian culture is the only way? That it has to be? That it isn't created mainly due to it's circumstances? Being conquered by mongols, then fighting them off to their own freedom? Why abandoning Slavic ways? Why copy-cat the mongols too much? Think Russians that mongol traditions are Slavic traditions?!

Should Poland copy-cat Russia? Should Poland dwarf the Russian Federation just like the Russian Empire dwarfed the mongols?

Why is a Union so impossible to comprehend for Russia? Unwillingness to even work for joining the E.U.

A European Union, part of the club. Instead of grumbling by being left out and ignored. It is Russias choice sweetheart, just a very difficult one with very few guarantees of any privileges. But, a lot of hard work

With regard to #375

The difference is the difference of attitude and how it's being used. Both political parties in U.S.A and other parties in western countries try to use media combatively as it's collectively agreed that it's better then physically eliminating opponents and traitors (political opponents).

While laws, being enacted in as broadest as possible way to not only benefit themselves as much as possible (which you mention) but, also to gain more supporters and lower unrest when in need to do it (comprise is easier to perform during such events)

Putin compared to western leaders performs things far less subtle (especially covert operations like assassinations and open power displays), is not only distasteful but, a reminder of mafia like tactics and paints him very much of a criminal.

A criminal using and abusing laws to his own benefits, rightly gets painted as a rogue leader.

His cynical view of laws angers and infuriates any person wanting compromise, law abiding citizens or justice to be one of the most important values in their own and other societies. It also creates suspicion and possible animosity from any followers of religion, due to followers of God's commands will keep an watch eye on anyone breaking secular laws (due to it being a step closer to breaking God's laws which is far more vital to uphold)

History / What do Poles owe to Czechs? [89]

@Alien
Indeed, it showed that Christianity can be spread among slavs without the need for bloodshed. As compared to Germanic peoples, which halted the legality of military expansion in to slavic lands for religious reasons. If anybody think it's not important then look at the fate of Balts and Finni-Ugric peoples at the hands of Germans, Danes and Swedes.

Not only a right move to embrace God and join the Christian community as a group, but also important to reduce the options of the most expansionist hardliners in Germanic nations.

It only changed to large degree after protestantism was introduced and the unity of the church was tried to be destroyed by the protestants which lead to the opening up of Russian expansion based on Orthodox church schism.

In modern times now, politicians look mostly cynically towards religion and it's influence on diplomatical relations, interests of financial supporters and votes of the people are more important to them, strangely enough banks are having troubles left and right now, people are more and more apathetic towards the worst parts of governments running things as they are.

So in short, Poland owes the Czechs a Great deal

History / 70th anniversary of 1943 Wołyń/Volhynia and Eastern Galicia Massacre - controvercies [454]

@Bobko

" Old Pawian would understand that Poles protecting Ukraine would make a Russian invasion of Poland MORE likely, rather than less likely."

That line of thinking would only work and convince any human with zero historical knowledge and ignorance of the history of Russian behaviour regarding it's foreign policies.

Polish intelligentsia, brains, intelligence services, military, beauricrats, priests, joirnalists have NO OTHER OPTION then to expect a Russian invasion as inevetable due to historical past and experiences, it was tried to perform apeasement politics, in vain hope for the foreign beasts to stop. Guess what? It did NOT WORK, not only that the entire country vanished from the map.

So Yeah, very few countries are able to consolidate very quickly those groups of people as they useally are very much at odds with one another. They all know the mortal danger of a Russian invasion on their lives... No matter what they do or what their stance are. So might as well be against Russia and do everything possible to slow it down to buy time.

Russia gives Poland and Poles No credible options, cause all her credibility has been spent, not only that but is also in the negatives and in debt.

Until Russians realise that, there is very little room for any "understanding"

There have been several time that Polish delegations or groups sided with Russia or wanted a peaceful/diplomatic approach.

Guess what, they all suddenly, strangely went missing and dissappeared and were never heard from again. If it happends once, with one person. One can conclude it as strange, but not upon thousands of people

Life / Relation in Poland to Orthodox Christians? [117]

That's the point, it's not up to humans but, up to God.

Seems like most Anti-Catholic bias stems from people thinking that it was solely a human decision
