News / Poles start to feel arrogant and superior to Southern Europeans [182]

but now they act like they are superior to Greeks, Portuguese, Spaniards

We know nothing about these distant countries so I don't think so. We have another, better countries to make fun of.

these lazy PIIGS

It is not Polish syntax. We use nieroby, lewusy, tępaki, rozrechotane pacany but not pigs.

Love / Do Polish men make good husbands? [107]

Polish men think they are superior to women, they think women can't drive cars, can't do construction work, can't ride motorcycles and they have an opinion that women should do other stuff and leave cars and mechanical stuff to men

It's not true. I would love to work with an Electrician-girl. In case of electric shock she can help me doing the first aid ;)

but in the US women do that stuff all the time which Polish men don't understand.

Looks like I should relocate to the other side of big pond immediately :)

Life / Are the Polish Police Gutless? [21]

Yes. I think (if whenever) violent crime in Poland increase, people will want someone to protect them. Someone who stand against the bullets.

Life / Are the Polish Police Gutless? [21]

I think the Poles have no respect for the police/straz mieska in general.

Straz miejska it is another story. We find them as lazy drones who get this job by nepotism.

We have no respect for the Police because we don't feel threatened by the gun crime, shooting, armed robbery etc. We forget the fact that they are needed all the time even nothing has happen yet.

Life / Are the Polish Police Gutless? [21]

Are the police that lazy?

Maybe policemen salaries are too low to risk their life.

In North America, they would be locked up at least 24 hours or until they had their chance to see a judge.

We don't have jails and judges enough I suppose. PL is quite safe country without developed locking industry ;)

UK, Ireland / Prices of Clothes in Poland and England [35]

I know a few Poles who shop for clothes in England, and whenever I fly from England to Poland, the plane is full of shopping.

Clothes are cheaper and in higher quality. I still have some from Debenhams. Not to mention about shoes. They are several times better than in PL. After spending L60-70 you are happy and not afraid of hidden surprises.

Travel / How welcoming is Poland for an American visitor? And great places to visit. [54]

as many people say that people from Poland are hostile to foreigners and are not very welcoming to them.

We aren't hostile to foreigners we are hostile to anyone ;) To be serious we are more and more indifferent. We don't want go to USA, we haven't desire for visas abolition and we aren't jealousy as ten years ago. We think that Europe is the best place to live in the world. We are happy that our backwardness help us to avoid economical crisis. So you can feel free to visit Poland and you will be treated with the highest indifference unless you will try to park a car inside my housing estate ;)

Love / How do Polish men feel about gender equality? [780]

My problem is that I feel that the polish workers have problems with me being their boss, since I'm a woman.

I'm qualified Electrician and don't have any problem when my boss/employer is a woman.

Majority of my clients are women and they call me when the socket in the kitchen doesn't work but their husbands don't like to repair it. I'm doing my job quickly and in a professional manner ;)

would you say this if you were visiting someone's house and you knew they were very religious?

no, but I don't know anyone very very religious.

Would you use it as a general greeting?

Would you use it if you were going to talk to a priest?

As customer I should and yes as an electrician to repair chandeliers I say Dzień Dobry.

Law / Buying a USED CAR in Poland, my personal experiences and TRAPS to avoid !! [133]

however some smart guys tell you that the windscreen had been changed due to stone damage

Whatever they say I withdraw from transaction even it may be true. But we have developed a solution to avoid the risk. We buy from family members, workmates or friends. Some reach peple feel a pressure to sell a car even after minor bump. If only engine condition is good we do general refurbishment gaskets, simmerings, suspension and use car as long as possible to minimize frequency of buying and risk of being victim of fraud. One of my cars has 350ooo km and still compression isn't below 9 :)

Gniezno (nest of liars)

also called capital of metaloplastyka masters ;)

We don't take mileage or painting into consideration. I check rust marks, year stamped on windscreen and other windows, engine noise, overheating, bubles in reservoir, oil leaks, coolant leaks, power stering fluid leaks, clutch condition and count on my inborn fluke ;)

five years ago the streets were still filled with Polonezes

I think you are exaggerating a little :)
