The European Parliament has voted on a resolution on strengthening the defence of the European Union - it recognises, among other things, the Eastern Shield, Prime Minister Donald Tusk's flagship project, as a flagship project for the common security of the 27 EU countries. PiS and Confederation MEPs have spoken out against the undertaking. "An unimaginable lack of understanding for the protection of Poland's border," politicians from the ruling team claim.

One of the most patriotic Polish songs ever - Warszawianka - Warsawian! There are two versions of it.
Let`s start with version 1. It is a mix of Polish and French artistic contribution. The song was written in French by the national poet of France, Casimir François Delavigne, under the influence of the events of the Polish November Uprising 1830 . It contains some stylistic references to La Marseillaise , e.g. To arms, brothers today! The author of the most famous Polish translation was the poet and historian Karol Sienkiewicz , brother of famous Nobel winning writer Henryk Sienkiewicz's grandfather. The music was composed by Karol Kurpiński .
The song's world premiere took place on April 5, 1831 at the National Theatre in Warsaw, free from the Russians, with the orchestra conducted by the composer himself. The song enjoyed great popularity from the beginning. After Poland regained independence in 1918, it was one of the candidates for the title of the national anthem. In the interwar period, the tune from Warszawianka became the signal of the second program of Polish Radio. It became the most important song of the Warsaw Uprising
Currently, it accompanies military ceremonies, where it is played during parades by the Representative Orchestras of the Polish Army.

The head of government's post is a reaction to Morawiecki's Friday support for Romanian politician George Simion in the local presidential elections.

I prepare my own heat and eat food during holidays when some kinds of veg are abundant, e.g, zucchini. I already showed you giant stuffed pieces I made 3 and 2 years ago. But I wasn`t really satisfied with the taste, especially of the filling. So, I changed th system and last year I only froze bare slices of the veg. Before freezing, I fried them, of course. Now it is enough to fry them again and I can have a quick dinner after coming back late from work.

The latest act of cleaning the PIS rightist swamp is the suspension of financing the so called "Constitutional Tribunal" which PiS turned into a company of corrupt political gangsters, including communist era loyal prosecutors, instead of true judges.
Constitutional Tribunal judges have not received their salaries for February, said Krystyna Pawłowicz, a member of the Constitutional Tribunal. According to media reports, some judges have contacted the President of the Constitutional Tribunal to receive their outstanding salaries "through a pre-trial demand for payment."
The lack of money for the salaries of Constitutional Tribunal judges is the result of cuts in the budget act for 2025. Funds for the Constitutional Tribunal and the National Council of the Judiciary have been significantly reduced there, and the cuts mainly affected the salaries of people sitting on these institutions. The current government, like the European courts - the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) and the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) - consider the current Constitutional Tribunal, staffed exclusively by PiS nominees, to be illegal. What is more, the Polish tribunal includes so-called understudies, i.e. people elected to judicial positions that were already occupied. These people, according to the judgments of the CJEU and the ECHR, are not judges at all.

And all the people who were appointed there are illegal and operate illegally - retired Constitutional Tribunal judge and former president of the tribunal Jerzy Stępień tells Onet. - Personally, I don't really like this salary cut, I have some doubts about it, but I don't think there's any other way to drive these countries out of there.
