Life / Polish people are the most ignorant people in the world! [331]

There needs to be an upvote/downvote button on this forum.

Sadly there is plenty of software out there to manipulate this kind of functionality, better for individual posters to write "your a cock your a cock" or. something similar to denote their displeasure, but sadly this does nothing to promote healthy debate, a bit like when a Libtard starts shouting racist, racist when losing an argument.

I'm sharing my experience in hopes of a broader discussion

Then let us move forward positively in that vein, is your experience of poles limited to the USA? are you talking about distant descendants of Poles or new migrants that have just recently arrived

So when you repy "@Dolnoslack.", only goes to show your hypocrisy, what a tit, go and get yourself a job and do something positive in life rather than looking for opportunities to exchange insults on a internet forum.

Who is the ignorant one now ?

Life / Polish people are the most ignorant people in the world! [331]

The story goes

Thanks for the explanation , a very plausible urban myth,

Some Brit expats on their way to Warsaw got off the bus at Walsall they never realized they are still struggling with the Black country language to this day.

Blessed Virgin Mary that we (Polish people) change so the world will no longer have disdain for us

Don't be so stupid or at least stop trolling.

"There is virtually no Poles as business members,"

Plenty of us have made a shed load of cash and paid a shed load of tax quite happily.

" world will no longer have disdain for us."

Utter rubbish, people have disdain for wingers, who contribute nothing and just whine about what they don't have , does that sound familiar to you.

"that we (Polish people) change"

What a plonker you are, get a job , get a life , and come back and post here when you retire and have achieved something positive to talk about.

"Let's all pray to the Blessed Virgin Mary"

Somehow I don't think she would be too impressed with you.

"Chicopee Massachusetts,"

Never heard of the place before today, what is it famous for?

"They will mix something on your drink and loot u."

This is Poland and yes they do this to stupid perverts, the police will not be interested in helping either, nor will anyone else in Poland, If you wish to perve and molest girls who are sadly in desperate need of money go to Amsterdam where the don't mind this type of abuse.

"Isn't bullying the traditional British way of things."

Well you might have a point there, quite common forty years ago, not sure about today, as for boarding school my parents were too skint to afford it.

"That is abuse, no two ways round it"

True but I never use it as an excuse in life, or have I let it get to me in later years, I was luckk there is much worse that can befall a child in this world , must admit it has been good to be able to discuss it here on this thread, I have found quite cathartic, It has also been interesting to read johnny reb 's story, thanks for your kind and supportive words roz.

Having your left hand tied behind your back with your own tie in class , then running the gauntlet of abuse from fellow classmates at playtime (Because of being different), while the nuns stand by and do nothing to stop the bullying .

"Nobody ever thought or spoke of abuse back then "

No and I didn't speak because I was told that writing with my left hand was wrong and my parents would not be happy that I disobeyed my teachers.

And do you know what, I believe my parents would have sided with the nuns, as no one from the church could ever do wrong in their eyes.

"traditional Catholic discipline clashing with more permissively raised baby-boomers who couldn't take it."

Well I was born after 1946, to two VERY traditional Polish parents, (Soldier Polish II corps, mother survivor of soviet gulag) I can guarantee there was nothing permissive when it came to my upbringing.

Don't worry I can take it , I did take it at the time , I can also deal with business today if needs be. All I'm saying is I could have done without the hassle at a time when education should have been the primary objective in those formative years, maybe in the USA catholic education was a tad bit softer than in Europe, after all there is a bill of rights in the US.

"mamby-pamby,"

No if nothing the brutality of some of my educators taught me that I could ultimately get anything I wanted if I used violence or the threat of it, well into my early teens, luckily I found a mentor that helped me, and put me onto the correct path in a non denominational school, later and as I got wiser I understood that I may have fallen foul of a few "Bad ones" , I still remain a Catholic and have mostly overcome my prejudice against and fear of of the lady's of the cloth.

History / Conscripted to German Army, then the British Polish Free Army. How? [12]

Many Polish soldiers forced to fight for Germany some came over to the allied side, some captured prisoners were given tags of fallen Polish soldiers, some in the British command were surprised how a unit could go out on an action and return with a few extra members, no one really asked any questions , after all we did have a bear serving within the Polish ranks.

I'm not too sure if some of the papers are not fueling this whole situation.

Sorry your lad is getting some stick because of his surname , I used to get it all the time, never did me any harm in the long run, it's the physical manifestation of this current prejudice that worries me most.

News / Britain - problem for Poland and Poles? [117]

"None of us are 'sure' what is going on"

I agree Roz but this is something different to what I and my family had to deal with as migrants to the UK in the 50's and 60's , Talking to my family back in the UK things are going bad, even for those of us that have been settled in the UK since 1950, no one wants to admit they are Polish or of Polish Decent, we are an easy target, we are white Europeans that do not fit the bill as a racial minority, cos we is not black, brown or non christian, so no one is taking our plight seriously.

News / Kukiz and Petru - newly emerging political stage in Poland [57]

"their application to become prosecutors during the commie era"

So what people became farmers teachers and parents "During the commie era" Just because someone took a job as a judge teacher or soldier (As my cousin did) does not necessarily mean that they oppressed and abused the the polish population at large, each persons actions during that time should be judged on an individual basis , so pray tell me what the Kaczynski's did that caused any mortal harm to Poland or it's people , It amazes me how people who do not understand the complexity living under a oppressive foreign occupation, in those days you did your best to survive as best you could and with gods help you tried to help you countrymen, and in your heart remain true to Poland.

Harry never lived in the days of occupation , because I am sure that in his mind he would have single handed other-thrown the Russian regime Rambo Style ,just like the movies , but sadly the real world does not work like that.

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2237]

Well I guess the guns in private hands debate will go round in circles, I can understand the views and concerns of both sides, but hey in Poland you can legally own a taser and a can of pepper spray, that's more than enough firepower to keep any random loony PF stalker at bay (unless they had a handgun of course), ownership of these items in the UK would carry a mandatory four year jail term.

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2237]

"what regulations would be in place... many questions that have to be answered."

So very true and surely a understandable concern, but I do believe that the spirit of the Polish home army still lives strong, although this loose group of citizens were under armed and under trained the command structure was strong, If under this spirit we could build a force like this for the protection of Poland it could only be a good thing.

But this time we should make sure that our home army is fully trained and has access to all the modern weaponry that would be required to make any enemy think twice.

Remember Russia invaded Afghanistan but they were unable to keep hold of the country because the people made that place a hell to keep hold of.

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2237]

"the way they drive and then imagine them with access to a gun......."

I can understand your concern Atch, but if you think about it the Polish police already carry firearms, some could argue that there is no need in Poland due to the low crime rate.

Unlike America very rarely do you have and incident in Poland where the Police discharge their weapons inappropriately, the Police are vetted and trained , from my understanding militia members would be vetted and trained to the same level.

No way would I endorse casual civilian purchase of firearms in Poland .

Not a member of a supervised club / Militia = no gun.

I am fully aware of current firearms legislation in Poland.

My comments are for a case where arms are carried by civilians for the defense of Poland, and I was not advocating the general purchase of firearms at the local Tesco store

Current civil laws do not allow for the specialized types of firearms required for urban warfare.

As for the number of volunteers , I am confident many would take up the challenge to volunteer as they currently do in other services such as the volunteer fire service.

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2237]

"not demand that you own a gun but only give you the right to own a gun"

I agree as long as mental and criminal checks prove positive there should be no reason why citizens should not bear firearms.

My preference would be a requirement to be part of a civil defense militia where appropriate tactical training and supervision is on going.

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2237]

We are preparing for an urban war, be it Russia or any other enemy. The Polish government is providing initial support for at least 36,000 of the 100,000 strong private militias, more should be done to bring the number up to 500,000 armed / trained paramilitaries.

bbc.com/news/magazine-37039365

We should not forget that our allies have failed and betrayed us in the past , better prepare to defend Poland ourselves.
