Love / Is it true that Polish women are very busty? [71]

You could never kiss that girl. You'd never get close enough.

depends on which part of her you'd aim for

Is this picture for real or some Adobe stunt? I've never seen a woman with this kind of jugs.

don't be silly
she wouldn't be able to stand in an upright position if those were real :)

Life / Do you think that Polish people are rude? [951]

Polish people are very rude. There is a polish boy in my school who does nothing but yell.

That's not rude. That's ADHD and most American kids have it. Perhaps his parents simply refused for him to be drugged with Ritalin.

Language / The most important phrases when traveling to Poland [24]

There is a serious danger that visitors who don't speak Polish face in Poland: after they use one of the laboriously memorized phrases in Polish they receive an answer - also in Polish. What do you do then? ;)

USA, Canada / Grace Pianka case - Injustice to Polish Citizen [66]

Can you tell for sure that she didn't?

I don't. But I can say she did either. There is enough of reasonable doubt.

I'm asking questions to get information from you as I didn't feel like reading the whole thing.

If you don't feel like reading then you won't know. Posts here have t be read too.

USA, Canada / Grace Pianka case - Injustice to Polish Citizen [66]

You didn't read the whole story so your conclusion is the same as prejudgement. You used exactly the same mechanism that people used for centuries to justify persecution of your kind - the dark skin means a person is not fully human.

If you read the whole story and if you watched the Dateline documentary you might have reached a different conclusion. But then... you don't need facts to issue an opinion.

Your approach at conversation will only invite those that want to fight. Not me. Not today.

OK, whenever you feel like it, Ms. Polite.

Did they actually find an englishman in london though?
London is not the UK,its full of rude aggressive arse holes and wanna be compton gangstas...a sh!te hole in the bottom corner of a country.

Isn't the very tactics you and other Pole bashers use against Poles?
Suddenly London has little to do with UK.
Precious.

Life / Are Polish roads really this bad? [237]

I'm sure there are more cars on the road nowadays=more wear-and-tear.

another good lead.
More wear and tear so just keeping up is more exensive. Add to that the need for more roads, mix it with lack of funds, throw in a few fighter jets that Poland absolutely needs to help helpless Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan, and we're geting a little close to understanding the reasons.

read their methodology (link provided).
If you disagree with the methodology, come up with your own, visit all those cities, conduct the experiments and le us know how it went.

Looking forward to the results.

Life / Are Polish roads really this bad? [237]

During commie times roads didn't exist, luckily you didn't need them because noone could afford cars anyways.

Wrong on both counts.
The roads weren't 1st class but they were in very good shape and repaired on a regular basis.
As for cars, we could aford the domestic ones easilly. The problem was they couldn't produce enough for the domestic market.

glad it doesn't take much to amuse you.
As it turns out, it takes a whole lot more o make you happy, and I can't even clue in what could possibly make you behave politely and answer a question.

Life / Polish home remedies for cold, stomach ache, migraine? [49]

I've been using synthetic melatonin for 7 years now on a nightly basis. I'm happy to report I'm doing just fine. Remember, that it has a very short half-life: it's metabolized very quickly.

Yes, makes sense and I can accept that. Ater all you are a doc not me. My cursory knowledge comes from the times when I thought I might become a vegetarian and that lead to all kinds of sources.

Why do you think you "wake up" quickly upon exposure to sunlight ie when drawing the shades/curtains in the morning?

We have obviously never met :)
Yes, light will do that to melatonin, even artificial one from what I hear.

Really?

Yes, really.
I'd like to know which lines and which approximate areas you travel around NYC or the other boroughs, as my experience is completely different than yours.

New York is certainly a city deserves a high spot on that list, regardless of what you consider "advisable" when traveling on a subway.

in this day of drone missles it's truly a moot point.

if the objective of an attack is just destruction then it would appear that using them against Poland's communication infrastructure would be very much a mute point too :)

I'm talking about economic development ala USA(interstate highway system) and Germany(autobahns). Getting goods in and out quickly/safely is what all highly developed countries have in common.

M take is a little different. In the current economic climate and with dwindling resources to power the vehicles I'd bet on the railway system. Sure, you'd still need decent local roads, and perhaps a small number of cross country ones.

As for the reasons? As you noticed, during commie times the roads were in decent repair. Could it be that during communism the degree and scale of fraud and corruption was smaller than afforded by corporatism?

In the country with little to no geographical obstacles that might be helpful in the defense of the territory, bad roads could actually be a good thing ;)

Life / Polish home remedies for cold, stomach ache, migraine? [49]

she does not know which particular kind she grows, and I've come across youtube videos of people getting seriously wacked on the psychoactive one, salvia divinorum

I'm pretty sure your mom meant Salvia officinalis (garden sage, common sage and a few other names). Perfectly safe, except for the aforementioned pregnancies and where excessive bleeding occurs, as Salvia officinalis encourages blood flow, especially in the pelvic and uteral areas.

I love my melatonin! It's natural and very safe.

Aren't there recommendations that it is safe for short term use only (3 months or less) before it starts causing undesirable side effects? Oh, and not all melatonin is natural. The synthetic one is regarded by some to be safer than that derived from animals (risk of viral infection).

I was sarcastic Darek:)

I wasn't really when I wote about fruit preserves. The sugar in them kills bacteria.
So stop storing it in the fridge - it will NOT go bad or get infested by bacteria ;)

The rest... might be useful next time you get some bug.

Someone actually did some tests of politness and these are the rankings (best to worst), and UK is not loking as good as some of our UKanians would like to believe.

London and Paris came a disappointing joint 15th, beaten by such cities as Berlin, Warsaw, Madrid and Prague. New York came top in the survey, with a score of 80 per cent, compared with 57 per cent for London and Paris.

hat should be good enough answer for you, because now you can prove that I am stupid

I don't think what you wrote is a proof of your stupidity. Just a sign that old maids tales are well and alive among some.

Sugar, especially in hight concentrations, inhibits bacterial growth because it ties available water (like salt) while at the same time encourages the growth of fungi. Fungi and bacteria are sworn enemies.

The mixture described above (milk, honey and all) is good. High sugar drinks are often recommended by doctors in North America in the case of many upper respiratory bacterial infections. CocaCola or ginger ale are the usual recommendations.

Well, then your previous post was pointless.
Or are we looking at some glitches in the English language, or general communication skills?

Language / Spelling "aunt" in Polish [142]

Ever heard of "Babusia"?

yes, I heard that often. It's not an uncommon word.

Busia is short form

Yes, it is but only in North America. The short term is definitely, 100% not of Polish (as in "of or from Poland") origin.

If you don't believe that then check, pretty much the only, authoritative source, which is the official Polish Language dictionary:
sjp.pwn.pl/szukaj/busia

Perhaps one day the word will be Polish. for now it's definitely an invention by and for the sole use of Poles living abroad, mostly in Norh America.

Language / Spelling "aunt" in Polish [142]

Female words usually end with an a so it wouldn't be Babusz, that sounds sort of like a man

First, that would be "babuś" although I only heard a vocative form "babusiu".
Second, not all words in Polish end with an -a, for instance Mayrś, Jaguś. Some of the time these will be for vocative but they are also used for nominative.

"Busia" is definitely not a Polish word. It is an invention of some Polams and such. The fact that they used the word doesn't mean they brought the word them from Poland, but rather that "busia" would be easier for their non-Polish speaking kids. I have never heard the word in Poland, nor did I come across it even once in the mountain of Polish literature I went through.

News / A devestating verdict on the Polish church [279]

Funny - when people use gossip and suppositions against the people who thrive on it, they seem to complain and howl. It's the exact same reason that Palikot has so much fun winding up Kaczynski supporters - they like to spread nonsense, but they can't stand when the nonsense is used against them.

That doesn't make the "large flat" argument any stronger, so I consider that the nonsense.

Erm, perhaps you might want to ask yourself just how someone got such a spacious flat in such an area during PRL times.

How old were you during those times?
Every freaking "badylarz" did much better than living in a spacious apartment.

I knew plenty of people who were anything but close to commies and they lived in places you could ride bicycles in.

I can understand real arguments but this smacks of witch hunting and abrakadabras.Bring on some real arguments, not some gossip and suppositions.

Why did the Lunar Twins live in PRL times in a very spacy and comfortable flat in elitist Żoliborz?

Perhaps that's because the question is silly.
What does the size of the apartment have to do with anything?
