News / Referendum to decide about exotic immigrants in Poland [559]

they are waste anyway /

No, most probably just decent people.

I can`t judge them yet coz I know too little about their case.

What media report is the following:

On Tuesday, January 28, the trial of five volunteers who helped migrants on the Polish-Belarusian border began in the district court in Hajnówka, Podlasie. The prosecutor's office accuses them of facilitating the stay of an Iraqi family and an Egyptian in Poland by delivering food and clothing to the forest, as well as transporting them "deep into the country". The case involved a 13-kilometer ride from the forest to the nearest city. The accused face up to five years in prison.

History / Differences between Poland and Russia [78]

Similarities also exist. E.g, Russians can be as crazy as Poles/Polesses.

E.g, In 1694, the Tsar Peter the Great organized a wedding for one of his jesters. Together with the highest state dignitaries, he rode behind the elegant carriage in which the newlyweds sat.

The procession consisted of unusual mounts for this type of ceremony: dogs, goats, pigs and bulls. All guests were required to wear clownish costumes: straw shoes, colorful dresses, wooden hats and squirrel and cat tails.

For three days straight they ate and drank. Alcohol flowed freely, and those who couldn't keep up with the pace of the partying lay under the tables in their own vomit.

History / Life in communist Poland - personal relations [503]

When we overtake Japan, we still have to chase Ireland with its 130.000 PPP GDP. It is possible coz Ireland was poor as a church mouse for most of 20th century but thanks to wise financial policies which attracted foreign capital, they achieved amasing results.

History / Life in communist Poland - personal relations [503]

In 1980, after famous anti-communist strikes, their leader, Lech Wałęsa, uttered famous words: We will build a second Japan here!!!

He was heavily ridiculed for it by communists as well as his political rivals in the opposition circles. But his prophecy became cult and I have read/heard thousands of references to it over years.

It seems his words are slowly becoming flesh.

The economic landscape in 2025, however, looks different. According to the International Monetary Fund, Poland's current GDP per capita, taking into account purchasing power parity, is $54.5 thousand. In Japan, this indicator is $54.91 thousand.

lol!

Because of nationalists like you who first murdered innocent Jews including babies and today deny or ridicule those crimes, Poland is blamed for Holocaust. And King Charles didn`t mention Poles/Polesses among the victims of Auschwitz death camp! Ha!!!

Thank you, Polish nationalist scum, for damaging Poland`s reputation. I spit on you - Tfu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

to blame me?

Yes, we blame you coz you are stuck in an obsessive denial which we feel obliged to cure with more facts.
If you knelt down and apologised for your nationalist scum ancestors` crimes, we wouldn`t have to prolong this torture.

Changing the subject

I find it so amaSSing you are provoking this exchange for the whole world to read and learn that some representatives of the Polish nation DID murder Jews during WW2.
Don`t you understand that in this way you are collaborating with the current enemies of Poland who happily use these facts in their anti Polish propaganda???

no matter how many posts

Stop those silly denials. Polish nationalists murdered innocent Jews and Poles/Polesses who were hiding them.

Being placed on the proscription list could have had tragic consequences. Professor Ludwik Widerszal, who was at the top of another proscription list, consisting of 52 names, was the head of the "Z" Sub-Department (Western and Eastern Territories) of the Office of Information and Propaganda of the Home Army Headquarters (described as "a Jew, Handelsman's student, historian, communist") and was murdered on June 13, 1944 in his apartment at 17 Asfaltowa Street in Warsaw by Andrzej Popławski's "Sudeczki" unit.

I don't care about your stories

Yes, we know. But it doesn`t matter coz dogs are barking all the time and nobody pays attention to them in my area:

Enjoy another story about Polish nationalists who murdered innocent Jews or righteous Poles/Polesses who helped Jews.

In addition, the names of people suspected of leftist sympathies , communist activity and/or Jewish origin were placed on proscription lists by the NSZ-ONR counterintelligence. In April 1944, one of such lists included Irena Sendlerowa - head of the children's section of the Council for Aid to Jews at the Government Delegation for Poland ("Żegota"), and Aleksander Kamiński - editor-in-chief of the " Information Bulletin " of the Home Army Headquarters and author of the novel Stones for the Rampart . The justification for indicating Kamiński as a person for liquidation was as follows: "A Jew-phile who always leaned towards the extreme left-wing communist. Uncertain origin of mother (Jewish or French, or French Jewess)". In reality, both of Kamiński's parents were Poles, and the reason for issuing the death sentence on him by NSZ-ONR was - as in the case of Sendlerowa - his participation in the operation to save Jews

Life / Polish patriotic music! [44]

That`s what they sing: Hey, ranks unite! And follow the White Eagle

That`s how the film makers translated the lyrics.

Here is the original song with Eng subs. One of my fave songs in the Polish patriotic song book. . I heard it first time in a historical series in late 1970s.

The tradition of taking photos with the Polar Bear in the streets of Zakopane is 102 years old. Even German soldiers who occupied Zakopane during WW2 had such pics taken. Amasing!

Life / Polish grandma`s advice on life and food [30]

Tomorrow it is Sunday. In many homes the traditional starter aka first course for dinner is chicken soup.

When Should You Salt Your Broth? Many People Make This Mistake

Without the addition of salt, we cannot imagine preparing various dishes, including chicken soup aka broth. However, few people realize thatsalt not only affects the final taste of the soup, but also the structure of the ingredients and the entire cooking process. That is why the moment of adding salt to the broth is so important.

My grandmother always follows the key rule to salt the broth only at the end of cooking. It is best to do this about 10 minutes before removing the pot of soup from the burner . If we add salt at the beginning, it may cause the meat fibers not to close, and as a result, the fat and aromas will not be released into the soup to a sufficient degree, and the taste of the broth will simply be worse after cooking. Additionally, adding salt at the end allows for better control of the taste and avoiding over-salting the soup, because during long cooking, the broth evaporates and the taste becomes more intense.

History / Modern myths and legends about communist past in Poland [250]

In 1970s, the communist party led by First Secretary Gierek adopted the propaganda policy of Poland as the 10th economic power in the world.
That was a myth of course, while the reality was gloomy as there were constant shortages of paper items. I mean both toilet paper and books - communist industry and printing houses were unable to produce more to satisfy the popular demand.

I hated communism for that coz I wasn`t able to buy my fave comic books. If I was lucky, I came past a newsagent`s right after the supply of a new book, but mostly I wasn`t and had to borrow them from my mates or go to the flea market and pay the double price.

I said prayers for the communism to collapse.
Can you imagine they were fulfilled by Goddess???? Amasing!!

One happy old man:

History / Did Poles living in Germany support Hitler's rise to power before World War II? [135]

What does that even mean in politics?

It also shows your mental ineptness coz we already mentioned it in another thread that colluding with Nazi Germany would end with a territorial disaster for Poland after the war coz we would lose Eastern lands anyway but wouldn`t receive ex German territory in the West. Ha!!

What is your education???? Why didn`t you study Polish history on your own after finishing primary school????

Again, 33,3% correct answer. :)):)

It means that eating was a correct guess. While mouse wasn`t coz it was a young rat and live wasn`t coz it was frozen before.

Language / Cultural disparities shown through Polish and English languages [195]

Only the ones with mustaches and dicks

Yes, we differ about moustache coz in Polish it is always plural even when talking about a single person`s moustache - wąsy - which is more exact coz there are always two, aren`t there?????

Singular wąs is also possible but when you mean right or left part of your moustache.
