Life / Polish people are the most ignorant people in the world! [335]

Perhaps this thread could be renamed 'the ignorant stereotypes thread' and placed in the off-topic lounge for anyone who wishes to vent. Any statement to the effect that all Poles (or any other nationality) are 'X' are facile. There is good and bad in every nationality, and we are all individuals.

You are clearly unhappy in Poland why don't go back to Welsh and roam free with sheep?

News / Poland and Germany should unite, says Lech Walesa [113]

Wouldn't you therefore agree, that there definitely IS something called "Slavic identity" as their is German(-ic) or Latin/Romance identity?

Interesting how you never hear about Germanic or Romance idenity only about Slavic one

Language / Polish was chosen the HARDEST LANGUAGE in the world to learn... :D [1558]

You can argue as much as you want, Wlodzimierz, but "Lernt ihr Polnisch nicht!" is still wrong.

Wlodzimierz (Lyzko) often does that in English aswell. For example: "I too like it" instead of "I like it too", maybe it's just his sense of humor, I don't know...

History / Differences between Poland and Russia [78]

First world country, but different culture than the "west".

I understand so Portugal, Greece and Finland have the same culture, "west" culture, wow

History / Differences between Poland and Russia [78]

The standard definition: European countries on the other side of the former Iron Curtain, plus USA, Canada, Australia and NZ.

What about Japan?

because in western Europe, we don't learn much about other countries than Germany, UK, France and the US.

In every single country in "Western Europe"?

Love / English Men vs Polish Men [207]

Average height surveys

There are many surveys I've seen online. The one in wikipedia seems to by the most of the Italians favour

You did say 6'2 isn't unusual in Poland when it's not that common for Poles to be over 6 feet tall.

It is very common for a Pole to be 6 foot tall. 6'2 is way above average but I see Poles at my height from time to time while I haven't noticed a single taller than me Italian while staying there.

Funny.

Yes, it's funny how irritated you get about the fact that average Pole is taller than the average Italian :-) just take it like a man, I know you are bisexual but I'm sure you can do it :-)

Love / English Men vs Polish Men [207]

In Poland they aren't especially tall.

They are not. The tallests are Dutch and Serbs but Italians seems midgets in comparsion even to Poles.

Life / Do Russians and Poles get along? [53]

There's probably more of similarities between Poles and Czechs, Slovaks, or Sorbs, than between Poles and Russians.

There are surely more similarities between Poles, Czechs and Slovaks as they are Western Slavs

Life / Do you think that Polish people are rude? [951]

it's not Germans or Russians

I hope you won't meet any nasty Russians or Germans soon. Although it's out of my interest I don't want you to troll German or Russian forums either.

Life / Do you think that Polish people are rude? [951]

In Poland, it is absolutely normal to say hello on a trail. It's highly unlikely that a young Pole would be unaware of this.

That's right, well spotted troll delph.

Language / Polish was chosen the HARDEST LANGUAGE in the world to learn... :D [1558]

Guess that anyone with Slavic language background could find it a piece of cake.

Only if it's western Slavic like Czech or Slovakian, for the rest it's a bit harder.

Agree, but getting into Portuguese with native Spanish fluency, it's REALLY easy.

I can indeed understand a lot of Portuguese just by knowing Spanish. I noticed they have a lot of "sh" and "ch" sounds so it sounds like Polish sometimes :-)

Language / Should I learn Polish or she learn English? [83]

having their widest audiences OUTSIDE Britain.

Why? Because people could understand it well. So he can impress her how nice is the sound of his Geordie, Brummie, Cockney or where ever he is from accent or he can make himself more understandable, whatever is his interest.
