I'm not sure what is exactly perceived as disrespectful here?! disrespectful is opposed to friendly, then what happens to respectful??? I am respectful, though sometimes I wonder if the English around me really understand that I am. It seems to me that to them - the respect which means the 'recognition of humanity' (podmiotowość), is just an unknown idea.

But they do of course have some incomplete idea of manners. They say good morning, open the door and generally spend time paying attention to one another. They don't know about eating silently, looking either in the eyes or not at all, not listening to other people conversations, not shouting, the rules of who greets first etc.

And really, there is a problem of cheap labour. Think for a minute - if I could get one of the 40k jobs that I apply for, would I work for 18? But I can't, because such jobs are not offered to me. I'm not respected enough. I'm trying hard not to show it, but there is a neon light flashing a big 'FUVK YALL' hovering above my head.

Not because of the amount of money, because I could be in Admin and they get paid that much. It's because of what other Finance people are paid, and that I'm expected to accept less.

And I do. Otherwise I would have no job at all.

Puzzle for you - when the London market will crash again in 18-30 months, while Poland is making the oil contracts with Russia, Norway and Iran, and your redundant people will start coming to Poland (increasing over ten years), what will happen?

I can tell you - those Poles who have never been screwed over by the Anglos, will treat you like foreign royalty (like we and Russians treat foreigners). Those of us who have been to the Island, will not want to talk to you.

I have one sad though about this - with all the 'Free Tibet' graffitis etc... when China will get to work with flattening Tibet down, as they already started, will there be any help for them.

I think for example that we Poles should, after having waited for Western help in the last war, we should understand.

I've got stuff I hate, too.

I hate it when the people who signed up for the soviet mental culture, and became enemies, try to act as all things were normal (like the proverbial janitors and post office hags). I don't recognize them as my kin. They should admit to belonging to the dark side. But they are trying to pass for common people. ( I would say normal people, but you are western and would think it's something to do with gayness). (On the other hand you are western and may take it for suggesting class). (Lets say ordinary people I guess)

I hate that we don't have a Government, just a Mafia. The Tusku clone being it's face.

- people who are nice are very nice and caring (those who aren't nice are mean, but who cares)
- my hair is always dry - I don't mean the rain, I mean the humidity is low
- the autumn is crispy, summer is blasting hot etc.

- business is easy: if one wants to buy/sell, one just speaks to another person and buys/sells. no crazy rituals to be kept.
- plenty of food on the streets like kiełbasa, kaszanka, karkówka, as opposed to pies and cheaseburgers which are dough and fattening
- drivers must stop before a pedestrian so will slow down in towns (from 150 to 70km), rather than slow down to let another car in. i feel safer if the pedestrian is the priority not politeness to other cars.

- shops are open till late
- sundays are quiet
- forests, forests, forests
- my favorite brands: Wojewodzic, Wólczanka, Próchnik, Hexeline, Molton.
- cakes - not very sweet, unless they are tort
- buildings with insulation and thick walls, not cold in winter, can't hear neighbours
- countryside family with a house a rusty car and plenty of spare bedrooms

- abundance of varieties of juices and waters

It's just that fascists and soviets and nazis also mean 'invading enemies', so it kind of carries more weight. It's like being a foreign agent, a traitor, enemy. An average person would feel for freedom movement, solidarity, etc.

Sadly, solidarity with labourers may be seen by the labour unions as an occasion to get more money for free. And, the Unions are not the only powerful force which will lose money if there will be fairer regulations. So: if you are a patriot, and want people to pay equal taxes, for the benefit of the Country, then it means wanting the Unions to pay more taxes than they currently do, and immediately you are a soviet nazi fascist terrorizing the freedoms of solidarity of labourers.

It's a simple obstacle, that is impossible to overcome until we have done thing - passed a law that all employers must put the amount of money deducted by the Union on the payment slip. If the labourers ever learn how they are stolen from, and how much, there will be some lynching.

Which, again, is bad for us, because the media will show Poland as a country of fascist Anti-Semites where simple people lynch nice suited guys who must be Jews, since Poland is that cold, dodgy Anti-Semitic despotic land, and we will be destined to lose some contracts.

The parents and the children will dress as best as possible to mark the occasion.
Contrary to what is being said, little will be thought of other families watching and envying. The celebrations after church will be with one's own family. People who are bothered that they have less than rich ones, should work faster and stare less.

I can't imagine how much envy and hatred there is directed to other people on the basis of wealth. (inni majom) But I would not have the event spoiled for the kid and family just to satisfy the little hearts of the enviers. The dress and jewellery are important for the little ones - and fun for the grow ups.

In Wprost or Polityka there was 3-4 years ago an article about millionaires who hide from public view by never mentioning their wealth and going to work to hide it. They live next door to you, Polonius3, and you will never be trusted with this information.
