News / SHOULD POLAND HAVE NUKES?? [154]

Let's discuss this. Should Poland have them considering its history? Not to cause trouble but just to say they have them. Poland is safe now but with a country like Russia you never know.

History / What do Poles think about Turks? [761]

I have a Bulgarian housemate and he doesn't seem to like Turks. Why? Did Turks rape Bulgarians?
I don't mind Turks. I have a chubby Turkish classmate who looks like Megan Fox :)

Life / Why Polish people should be proud of being Polish? [370]

You know...Germans the mechanics...French the cooks...Italians the lovers...Polish the...?

How about "Poles the great handy men"?
By the way us Poles are good lovers too I think. We have huge penises :)

On a more serious note, Poles should be proud of these things:

-being survivors. We're stuck between Krautland and Ruskiland. Historically one of the most unfortunate positions in Europe.
- Poles rebuilt Poland with their own hands. Germans had to import turks and other nationalities. Poland today after such a tragic history looks better than most countries to the east. The standard of living is better than in Russia, Ukraine, Israel (not too safe to go out to an outdoor cafe), China, all of South America, Africa and yes I think even South Korea.

- we were the first to bring down communism.
-Wałesa, Pope John Paul II, Chopin and vodka :)
- we are also the last remaining Christian nation in Europe that will save the continent one day (Sobieski syndrome).

Life / Why Polish people should be proud of being Polish? [370]

During the Swedish invasion they destroy us quite fast. And they tried to put some orders in place. Only to find out that the Poles are totally "unmanageable" .

Polish people like you should be eliminated. Always playing up the negative instead of the positive. Do you see other ethnic groups advertising their faults? Learn to put a positive spin on things and act like you're the best. Poland should just acquire nuclear weapons if they are so bleak about their past. Why not??

News / Is NORD STREAM dangerous for Poland's natural enviroment? [516]

Merged thread:
POLISH CONCERNS OVER NORD STREAM GAS PIPELINE

Something I found online:

"Poland has for several years planned a liquefied natural gas terminal in Swinoujscie, near the border with Germany in northwestern Poland, scheduled for completion in mid-2014. With an initial capacity to deliver 5 billion cubic meters of gas a year, it will be able to meet about one third of Poland's current annual gas consumption, and will be an alternative to Russian gas supplies through existing pipelines on the ground."

Is this legal what Russia and Germany are doing? Are they conspiring to block entry into the future Swinoujscie gas terminal?
Discuss as I'd like to hear peoples opinions on this matter.

USA, Canada / Poles and Americans, what do you think, are we friends or enemies? [187]

I tend to believe that most of Europeans are better educated than Americans. I admire how most Europeans speak a multitude of languages. But this might be to the fact that you all live in such close proximity to each other..

Disagree with you on that one. Here in Toronto I've had the pleasure of meeting some western Europeans (Austrians, Germans). One Bulgarian. A Swede at one point. All in my house actually because it's a student house. Anyways, they appear to be very egocentric and ignorant. No better than the stereotypical "American". I'm a Polish Canadian and they didn't know much about Poles even though on the map we are quite close. Maybe it's human nature to be ignorant and just know your own kind.

You're a f;ucking idiot. Some of you guys are pretty extreme in your opinions. Ugly or super hot. Podolski's gf is quite cute and attractive. I would bang her. Scweinsteigers gf is too hot for him though. She's hot. He's butt ugly. She must have low self esteem :)

Food / Russia vs Poland Vodka war [73]

It's a wine region. Why should they be experts on wódka?

Ok smart a'ss. Look, he sees Absolut as the best, which is a farce. And favours Russian over Polish. He's clearly insane ;)

Food / Russia vs Poland Vodka war [73]

I have a s'tupid Bulgarian house mate (he's in Bulgaria now for the summer). He believes that Absolut is the best vodka in the world. S'hit for brains. Here in Canada, Absolut seems to dominate the market. I dunno how but they have done it. This proves that humans are s'tupid by nature. Kinda like saying McDonald's is the best cuisine in the world cuz it's everywhere. Absolut is not great. Very watery in taste. For puss'ies. That being said, there are a lot of Polish vodkas sold in Canada.

Anyways I gave him Zubrówka to try and he liked it. Liked the after taste and strength. If it was not for me, he would not have known. I was expecting more knowledge of Polish vodkas from an Eastern European.

Food / Russia vs Poland Vodka war [73]

Wódka is Polish. It's been proven and most people who know anything about alcohol may/should know this. I think "vodka" was adopted as the official spelling in the west because in Poland the W is pronounced like a V so they settled on the easier, less confusing Russian spelling of Vodka.

History / The Two Saddest Nations on Earth... Poles and Jews [243]

"Poles are always BAD" and "Jews are always GOOD".

I agree 100%. Said it before and will say it again- Jews are a nasty race. I've had experience with a couple of older Jews and it re-confirmed my belief that they are anti-Polish. I'd rather deal with a German and a Russian any day of the week.

News / Germany After the EU and the Russian Scenario - future of the European Union and Poland [310]

His book about how Poland becomes an uber galactic empire was fun though, i enjoyed the bit with the robot wars.

You're making him seem like some nutty science fiction writer. He doesn't claim to know everything about geopolitics and has admitted that he's been wrong in the past. That being said he is an intelligent guy and has an interesting take on the world. He never claimed that Poland would become an uber galactic empire. He simply said that Poland would once again become a regional power, which is not far fetched by any means. They should have been a long time ago and are working towards it. Personally I think Poland will for at least the next 50 years have a relationship with America for strategic purposes no matter what- that being military and technological transfer that will help strengthen it's economy. Now, whether or not there's robotic space wars in the future, I don't care. Look at the technologies that have been invented since WWII. But I am sure Stratfor (his company) is privy to information we are not. And don't forget, you guys don't really know the future geopolitics of Europe either.

News / Germany After the EU and the Russian Scenario - future of the European Union and Poland [310]

Germany After the EU and the Russian Scenario

By George Friedman

Discussions about Europe currently are focused on the Greek financial crisis and its potential effect on the future of the European Union. Discussions these days involving military matters and Europe appear insignificant and even anachronistic. Certainly, we would agree that the future of the European Union towers over all other considerations at the moment, but we would argue that scenarios for the future of the European Union exist in which military matters are far from archaic.

News / What is strategic meaning of Poland in Europe and in the world? [59]

Poland has some of the best arable land in Europe. Not too dry like Southern Europe and not too mountainous like the land locked countries of Central Europe. Perfect for self sustaining a country. Poland is just slightly smaller than Germany, but Germany has roughly 80 million people while Poland has 38.5 million. Poland has room to grow still for another hundred years. Germany doesn't have that luxury.

Strictly politically speaking? Well, Poland borders Russia. America would love to see a weakened Russia disintegrate. Inevitably in the future, I think Poland will be a part of this strategy. It all depends how well the relations between the Americans and Poles go.

Genealogy / Jewish Roots of Poland [638]

I suppose a Jew of this generation born in Poland could say that, but there aren't many of those living in Israel.

Probably for the best. I'm a young guy in my mid twenties and had the chance to go inside Jews home in Toronto. An older guy, maybe 60 years of age. He had a few beautiful, vintage looking paintings (what is it with Jews and paintings?) in his apartment. I began complimenting him on the art work and he became suspicious and asked me what my ethnic background was. I replied, "Polish." He asks, "Are you Jewish?". I said, "No, Catholic." Needless to say he quickly became very unpleasant and muttered something about if his mother saw me here she'd run away- blah blah blah. He became quite belligerent and wanted to know my full name, etc. It felt kind of like an interrogation. I don't know if this crazy Jew thought I wanted to steal his paintings or something but it was a pretty awkward few minutes. I do photography so I was naturally interested in his art work. So the point is it's been a couple of generations after WWII and crazy a'ss Jews are still going after Poles over nonsense. How is a person my age supposed to begin to like Jews if they're so self centered and belligerent? I don't deal with Jews too much but I already know I do not like them. Poles don't complain over Germans and Russians like Jews do about Poles.
