Law / Weapons laws in Poland. Carrying a concealed handgun? [918]

Yawn.

Do I bore you HARRY? Feel free to ignore me.

Or are facts just an irrelevance to you?

What facts? Do you really believe that those people stated as civilians are in fact civilians that have nothing to do with the oppressive commie tyrannical government? They are just regular citizens that just happened to own a gun. Are you that gullible for real?

Come on, tell me I'm wrong and you're better that that.

I'm a big fan of it

Sorry, I meant to say democracy that is equated with individual freedoms.

But I'm not the topic here: guns are. You're simply trying to drive the thread off-topic because you know you'll lose an on-topic debate.

Not really, guns debate is a part of freedom and democracy should be a platform, a tool as a best way to achieve and secure those freedoms. Relegating democracy just as a system of electing your governing bodies is a gross oversimplification.

Unfortunately he forgot where he claims to be from and tripped over his own lies.

Well, I don't think that he cares much what lies he told you. You on the other hand latch to it as if that would matter in the slightest. On this forum we are talking about ideas, politics and exchange opinions on various issues. To do that we don't need personal info about people who post here. Nor do we need their home addresses and phone numbers.

I fail to understand your obsession with which you dig up personal info about people to then latch onto it to use it in an attempt to discredit a poster you disagree with.

Harry, on the internet forums all that doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is a quality and logic of arguments.

There are no border controls between Chicago and places where firearms are freely available

So the North Korea is the place you want. There only state appointed oppressors and commissars have guns. Just say it. You don't like and don't understand democracy.

So, in the city johnny says he's from, the murder rate is fourteen times higher than the rate in Poland.

You're missing the point and you doing it on purpose to misrepresent his argument.

what other uses ?

Sport, hunting, recreational, deterrent, self-defence etc.

Your argument about correlation not being causation would be shot down by any matura student -

I'm sure it would in the same way you just destroyed me with your wit, your mature argument, eloquence and your ineluctable logic. lol!

The reason for mass gun deaths in the US is lax gun laws.

No, it is not.

Legal status is also a ridiculous argument - people can obtain legal guns and then go nuts -

Why? Cause some people commit acts of violence or a crime? I never said that don't. How often thought legit gun owners commit crimes? That is the question you should find answer to before you have opened your big silly gob!

US style gun laws

You know next to nothing about US gun laws.

Come back after some rifleman will save your life with his rifle after you got a heart attack like it was an ambulance.

Ambulances don't save people's lives.

Guy is comparing firearms to cars lol.

You have no arguments lol.
You lost it dude and anyone can see it. why don't you cut your losses and just slunk into obscurity by remaining silent rather than displaying your audacity. Chutzpah doesn't work on me.

wit Americans trying to impose their will

Ah genius hath spoken.
Ever heard about arguments? Would you rather mudsling like a overgrown man-child.?

Besides cars and buses have many many more uses.

So do guns.
It is not about guns and vehicles, it is about mentality and a certain way of thinking.

Buses and cars are already here and removing them

In other words if possible you would remove them altogether and impose your insecurities and the way of thinking onto other people. That is a serious character flaw - a control freak. Gotta burst you bubble - you cannot control other people that is impossible.

I think we have identified problem here.

If the gun crimes rates begin to rise then what?

If you are going to be run over by the bus then what? Possibility of dying in a traffic accident is a real enough in Poland. Tell me, does that fact stop you from leaving your house? Would you ban cars? Would you introduce a law that forbids people going out?

know a lot of Poles and all DON'T WANT WEAPONS HERE BECAUSE OF WHAT HAPPENS IN USA. PERIOD

So, they're misinformed and scared by scaremongers.

. That's pretty low. Do you not see the connection between the fact that there are limited numbers of guns in Poland and therefore low numbers of deaths and gun crimes?

Those are just a pure speculations, predicting the future not an easy task.

don't think it is a coincidence that there are very high numbers of guns in the US and very high numbers of gun related deaths.

I disagree it is due to few other issues. However we are not talking about USA.
I think people debating guns laws are going about it a wrong way. Should only talk about crimes committed by the legal gun owners rather than about general gun related deaths.

Just compare gun involved crimes rates of countries where gun possession is restricted with countries where its more liberal

Compare what? Have all debate in this thread has gone over your head. Let me repeat:
1. Correlation doesn't imply causation.
2. Comparisons of any kind almost always are flawed.

High rates of crimes involving the usage of firearms.

Dude, are you listening? (reading with comprehension?)
How on Earth do you connect gun ownership with a high rate of crimes? That even doesn't make sense.

Most Poles don't and it's a democracy.

How the hell do you know that? You don't want it and are feeding people horsesh...t.

Remember that prevention is way way easier than dealing with effects later.

What arte you some police state? A ruler or a king? If people want to own guns take a snout of their business. If they commit a crime with it just hang the bugger and the case is solved.

Prevention. Prevent that you commie - one finger salute!

chance that a country which has very slack gun laws

USA doesn't have a very slack gun laws.

just pure chance

No, that is not a pure chance. There other issues in play.
I'm saying that more guns in the hands of people in Poland wouldn't mean more murders or crimes.

Poland has this historical tradition that citizens had the right to arm themselves in any way they deemed fit.

Did you miss the part about the USA having a murder by firearm rate of 2.77 per 100,000 people while Poland has a murder by firearm rate of 0.06 per 100,000 people?

Geez Harry!

I don't think it's that.

Sure, could be that some people are just content with the way the things are in regard to weapon.

I just can't see that a very safe country like Poland needs its citizens to be armed

Need? I see it more as a natural right of men. Freedom to arm yourself or not.

I can't find any statistics on gun crime in Poland, becuase there probably isn't any.

There:

And the difference is ?

people are scared of guns and their neighbours. when they hear the word gun - their brain goes into the panic mode and freezes.
The other explanation - those are nutters with no self -control who are aware of their condition as they know that if somebody would given them a gun they would just go ape shyt crazy.

But the second problem is the one that shows us that yet again Cartman is telling whoppers.

I see Harry is lying again. That happened in 1964. In 1977 he became working for the NRA. So no Harry no member of the NRA committed murder by shooting.

IMHO true freedom is when there's no threat and no need to overcome it. Lol

Don't really know what you mean but it sound to me that you're confusing freedom with slavery.

Genealogy / Possibility and proof of being Tatar [15]

Misiewicz" which comes from the Polish noun for a bear, however, it is a fairly rare surname in both Belarus and Poland

There are 3795 people in Poland with that name.
There are 179 of them in Warsaw.

- 90 Strzelin
- 79 Wrocław
- 76 Rzeszow
- 71 Gdańsk
- 70 Częstochowa

She also appears to look Tatar

Eh? In what way? There haven't been a pure blood Tatars in Poland for at least 400 years. If you're asking for her ancestry that cannot be determined by her look alone.

We dont need guns

Who is 'we'? You and your fleas? Has anyone elected u for their representative?

We are trully free

American Freedom is living in fear

geez man, you're hilarious. :D

We dont need to watch our backs every minute we are outside.

I think you're confusing freedom with paranoid delusions. Happens a lot to those who overuse weed.

Feedback / Would you favour a free and open PF where people could post under their real names? [55]

Only if someone posted

Nah, if some one's boss, or all their working environment consist of the people who one would justly describe as a regressive left. If you for example (just to fit in) haven't let them know what you think about certain issues or about their idiotic ideology, its a very reasonable to think that you could expect backlash or other unpleasant consequences if such a deception would be discovered. Especially that those are regressive left's people - they're vindictive and close minded.

calm and coherent presentsaiton of honest opinion should not trigger all the bad things you claim would happen

No, matter how you would present yourself on this forum, how reasonable, logical and honest you would be, its about what you say not how you say it. What is that hard to understand>?

It certainly would not serve those whose main reason for being on the forum is to bait, provoke, snoop, pry and cyber-stalk other posters.

You're being bullied and trolled and you're being played like a fiddle . You're letting yourself to be drawn into useless and pointless exchanges with someone who play dirty and there is no way you could passible win playing fair.

What more that is annoying you and you start to rant and rage in righteous indignation which makes them laugh at you even more. What more that encourage people like Harry to do more of the same.

Either learn to play the game or ignore him - those are your only options if you're bothered by Harry.

all the bad things you claim would happen

I'm not saying that all those bad things will surely follow. I'm saying that they might happen or some of them might happen. Don't forged about nutters too. They exist in the real world.

This is a limited-access forum so the whole world wouldn't know who swas posting what.

Polonius you have just proved that you know absolute nought about the Internet. Not only all the world would be able see those names and what was posted by them but you could very easily find everything that is available in the cyberspace about that person.

Limited access. Poor Polonius.

So are you for or against, and why?

I'm against it. Why? some people what it might came as a surprise to you do have their jobs and carries to consider. Posting on an anonymous forum is akin to a private conversation. No one wants or needs the all world to know what you said in a private capacity.

You could loose your job, have to explain yourself or find yourself to be singled as a person unfit for a promotion or be informed that your contract gonna be terminated. Why bother to post all then?

---
Not to mention that the world is full of all kinds of nutters. They could easily track you down and would **** in the front your doorway, scare your children, hurt your dogs or cats, torch your car, or fling insult in your way.

Who need this kind of crap in their lives>?
Maybe do you as you're obviously bored. Be my guest and post under your real name - no one is stopping you.

Given that none are in the public domain, online or in print, it looks like you've been "showed" a photo of someone else...

Hmm ...you posted your mugshot on PF some time ago. Seems to me that someone has kept a copy of it.

No! You only saying it all because Harry is getting under your skin and you want to shut him up in this way. Develop tougher skin, stop posting here, get use to it or sort it outside PF. I'm sure that for the most of the long term members of the PF( including you ), Harry's identity is not a secret.

Life / Opłatek, not presents, epitomises the true Polish Christmas spirit [85]

But you're still a fool

The only fool in this thread is you. As you were compelled by your inner stupidity that pushed you to post here for no good reason.

What epitomises Christmas these days in Poland is too much fuss about it and too much food prepared on the occasion

Nobody put a gun to your head. Buying expensive presents and getting too much of the food is not must. That ain't requirement for Christmas.
