There is still plenty going on downtown with the bobblehead crowd.

Love / Polish women are the most beautiful in the world! [1718]

Not bad either. (But maybe that's because junior blinds me.)

you become desensitized and either start thinking completely upstairs or completely downstairs when you're over here for a longer period of time.

UK, Ireland / Polish and East European prostitutes in the UK [240]

True, but of course there are guys who are more than willing to be their plaything for a night aswell. Girls are almost like human beings you know, and they don't always want or need commitment either. Just like guys.

So you'd say the norm would be for a girl to buy you drinks?

It's not all about the money though. It also has to do something with appreciation and a sense of having someone who takes good care of you.

A sugar daddy? How many stay at home fathers do you know?

If you were a woman, would you like the idea of having to raise your children with a man who can't even take care of himself? Again, it's not all about the money.

Who said anything about children?

The ones that are out at 2pm shopping in the malls with big poppas credit card aren't one iota better than the women f*cking truckers on the side of the street.

Probably true in some cases, and can you blame them? For as long as there will be guys who pay for their services, some of them who have the looks will make use of that. Although you have to be fair, because there are plenty of girls who actually do work at McDonald's, as you can see for yourself.

Yea, maybe some of them would rather get f*cked by old fat men than work at McDonalds or in an office. They can make the trade off, fair enough.

Or she really liked you and hoped for more, but I guess you didn't think this could've been a possibility.

Or just wanted to get a drink and get f*cked. It's not romantic, and it happens every night, over and over and over.

I'm not even going to reply to that one, because you really should know better at your age.

Stop giving them money, see what happens.

Isn't "financially independent" one of those things that scores fairly on what women look for? Right up there with dashing good looks and sense of humor right?

..or really naive, really poor, really desperate, really unlucky, really forced or really wanting to get somewhere.

Or maybe they don't want to be a ***** at an office for eight hours a day. Maybe they don't want to work at McDonalds for a week to make what they do in a night. Maybe...

Anyway, anyone who has ever bought a drink for a woman and then took her home, has f*cked a prostitute. Anyone that has a stay at home wife is probably married to a prostitute.

Stop the presses, a major financier of construction projects says that there will be more construction projects for years to come?

Law / Foreign retirees taxed in Poland? [25]

I don't see how the totalization agreement would apply because the money is being taxed abroad.

The SS agreement doesn't, but the totalization agreement should.

Right, how does the totalization agreement work in practice for income earned and previously taxed abroad?

Law / Foreign retirees taxed in Poland? [25]

Bizzare is speaking out an opinion conradictory to facts and then asking why the facts are bizzare.

Thanks for that deeply insightful comment. So what are the facts? I'd be really happy to see anything that says that social security benefit payments are not treated as taxable income in Poland. The SS agreement from 2009 doesn't make any reference to US benefits not being taxable in Poland. I don't see how the totalization agreement would apply because the money is being taxed abroad.

Law / Foreign retirees taxed in Poland? [25]

Just out of curiosity, why isn't it taxed on the Polish side as income? Polish authorities not being interested in taxing the income of a resident is bizarre :)

Law / Foreign retirees taxed in Poland? [25]

Polish - American treaty on double taxation speaks to working people and doesn't address retirement, no?

The double taxation treaty concerns personal income, doesn't matter how it's earned.

Language / Do Poles prefer US American or UK English language? [147]

It is pretty amazing to see how dramatically the accents on the island change over just a short distance vs. the large cover of accents in the US...not to mention the pop culture neutral accent in the US..

Law / Poland's going forward while Britain is still trying to wake up [86]

Balcerowicz did what was best for Poland in the long term. Populists will argue against it, but the man knew what needed doing, and did it. There will never be anyone with enough political will to pull through logical reforms like that again. Too many people are addicted to handouts...

Food / Buying alcohol, wine in Poland. It's very difficult. [85]

Spanish wine is awful.

Beware of German wine. It sucks.

News / US to deploy Patriot missiles to Poland [405]

Poland was either occupied and under the control of a external power, or it wasn't. The strategy was to exacerbate the bad planning decisions made by the central government and allow the people to "free" themselves.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is, you're welcome, and we'd like our beetles back.

News / US to deploy Patriot missiles to Poland [405]

In that case, America can take back the millions of Colorado beetle it dropped on Poland in the 1960s to destroy Poland's potato crops - or perhaps just nuke 'em with their missiles.

Wasn't Poland "occupied" at the time? Or was it free and invading neighbors on its own will?

History / The Two Saddest Nations on Earth... Poles and Jews [243]

Poland would benefit significantly by allowing a few hundred thousand Jews back into Poland.

I'm not sure Jews want to come to Poland. If they did, they would do it. It's not like they're being kept out. They just don't want to be here..

Genealogy / Polish and Russian DNA? [52]

If you mix a german with an ape do you get a really ugly ape?

I wonder if you gave those ugly ape hybrids a couple of tanks, how long do you think it would take Poland to throw its hands up? You think they would take longer than just the pure Germans? Maybe 7 weeks instead of 5? How about just apes with tanks? 8 weeks? 9?

Language / Is the term 'Polak' derogatory?? [254]

I just find the term degrading, I'm Polish and live in nyc.

Just out of curiosity, how often have you been called a polak?

I was under the impression that most Americans really don't care enough about Poles or Poland to actually use a slur against them.

That said, most of my friends are polaks and polkas...
