Language issue in Ukraine.

I know that in southeastern Ukraine Russian, not Ukrainian is a dominant language after long subjugation of Ukraine by Russian imperialism in the past and as a result of past forceful artificial Russification of Ukraine. But in my view historical injustice to Ukraine by Russia must be rectified in all respects, and the Ukrainian language must again be the major language in southeastern Ukraine too because according to the last official census in Ukraine approximately 78% of Ukraine's citizens claimed to be of Ukrainian ethnicity. 17% of Ukraine's population are ethnic Russians.

So nowadays the use of the Ukrainian language in southeastern Ukraine is in practice discriminated against in all spheres of life. The ethnic composition of the population in Ukraine has been disregarded in language policy by the authorities in Ukraine (largely anti-Ukrainian) since 1991. Don't you think Russian linguistic imperialism on the territory of other nations outside Russia must end? It's long long overdue. Maybe a fair language law based on the ethnic composition of Ukraine will finally be passed and implemented in Ukraine.

Russian people in Ukraine nowadays have all opportunities to communicate in Russian between themselves and to preserve their language and culture. But in all fairness Russians living in Ukraine (citizens of Ukraine) must also know and use Ukrainian in communication with Ukrainian people which Russian people predominantly object to and practically refuse to use Ukrainian anywhere in Ukraine. I think Russians in Ukraine and the Russian authorities try to impose Russian as the main language in Ukraine even now, and to restrict the use of Ukrainian as much as possible by preserving past Russification of Ukraine. It is long overdue to teach, to learn and to use more Ukrainian than Russian in the media and in institutions in Ukraine. Language, culture and religion are the main attributes of a nation. If they are eliminated then a nation ceases to exist.

If one compares opportunities for maintaining their language, culture and religion for the Russian community in Ukraine with those of the Ukrainian community in Russia, it is evident that the Ukrainian community in Russia is at extreme disadvantage like other aboriginal non-Russian nationalities in Russia are. Ethnic Ukrainians in Russia number at least a few million people, but they have no opportunities to maintain the Ukrainian language, religion and culture in Russia as Ukrainian schools, churches and cultural institutions are not allowed in Russia. But in southeastern parts of Ukraine Russian schools, language, mass media, churches, cultural institutions are predominant as a result of imposed Russification of Ukraine for over three centuries. Now you tell me who discriminates and mistreats whom in this respect.

Unlike in Russia ethnic minorities in Ukraine are not discriminated against and have all opportunities to pursue their legitimate ethnic interests.

Russification of Ukraine for over three centuries

ROTFL ))))

Tell us, how forceful russification was possible on a territory belonging to Austro-Hungarian empire? Habsburgs was Russian agents of influence?

territory belonging to Austro-Hungarian empire?

Stop twisting, you Russian manipulator! Didn`t Micheal say: southeastern Ukraine ??? He meant Eastern Ukraine under Russian control since 17th century.

Hello Michael2 - and f*ck you.

You see red reading the words of truth and wisdom from Michael? Good. But I doubt it will educate you coz you are a confirmed imperialist Russian who believes the unjust war you are waging in Ukraine is right.

Didn`t Micheal say: southeastern Ukraine

Malorossian was considered as a dialect between other southern Russian dialects in that time.

At the same time, current standard of so called ukrainian language based mostly on dialect of Galician Russins, heavily contaminated by polonisms...

So, if ukrainians (banderites) is really offspring of nationalistic political party in Austro-Hungary (as stated in volume 13 of Catholic Encyclopedia, printed in New York in 1913), then they have nothing to do with Russian lands on the East... If Ukrainians is really have Cossack blood (as stated in ukrainian anthem) - then again fault, galicians have no Cossack blood, unless some their grand-grand...-mother was a woman with "lowered social responsibility" as now tend to tell about prostitutes in Russian. ;)

User Bobko, you really have some severe mental illness. Your comments for me are real evidence of that. You are also highly uncivilized in your judgements and you have barbaric mentality of a staunch supporter of highly criminal Russian imperialism. Remember that for as long as you live!

User Bobko, you really have some severe mental illness.

The bot speaks! Hallelujah!

It is wonderful you have decided to spare us your walls of text, and actually engage in conversation.

It would be good to understand your exact perspective. Are you from Ukraine? Are you of Ukrainian descent, but living in the West?

Apologies for my attacks before, but if you scroll up you should see it was only a means of understanding whether or not you were sentient. I do not wish you cancer, or to engage in sexual relations with your grandfather.

Wait a minute, I'm going to get some popcorn and a cold Coke, then I'll sit in the chair and you can start. Finally, there will be a fight of some Ruthenian with a Ukrainian.

you have barbaric mentality of a staunch supporter of highly criminal Russian imperialism.

That was already stated many months ago. Practically, right after the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Remember that for as long as you live!

He doesnn`t care to remember. However, we do and we will! Ha!

The issue of ethnic minorities.

Ethnic minorities live in every country due to various connections between nations. There may be certain tensions and strained relations between ethnic minorities and indigenous people (the main nation) of a country on cultural, political, religious, educational, linguistic, social, economic and other grounds.

In my opinion, ethnic minorities must have the same rights, freedoms, benefits and duties as the main nation by law, duly implemented and guaranteed in practice. Ethnic minorities should have adequate opportunities to maintain their language, religion and culture through their institutions and media (press, TV and radio).

All this must take into account the ethnic composition of a country so that the interests of ethnic minorities and the main nation are properly addressed, balanced and duly implemented to prevent discrimination and mistreatment as much as possible.

Ethnic minorities must not be able to dictate or to impose their will on the majority of the population in any country. But, for example, the Russians living in Ukraine and the Russian government have been doing that in Ukraine against Ukrainians as the main nation since the mid 17th century through Russification of Ukraine to turn Ukraine into Russia, to claim Ukrainian lands as Russian lands forever, to change the ethnic composition of Ukraine in Russia's favour with Russian settlers, and ultimately to make the Ukrainian nation disappear.

The issue of ethnic minorities.

Michael, you stupid hohol bot swine - learn to have original ideas!

Maybe your Polish pan will pay for a subscription to ChatGPT4, instead of ChatGPT3, so that your messages could have at least some meaning?

Isn't opposing Russification an original idea?
Bobko 25 | 2,153
19 Sep 2023 #172
No, my dear extraterrestrial friend - it is not. An original idea would be to disavow the legacy of Bandera, lay down their arms, go home, and stop feeding meat into Zelensky's war machine.

lay down their arms

You are a really crazy imperialist Russian, indeed. :):):) Man, they are Ukrainians, they won`t give up so easily. Having the support of the West, they can resist for years even if it means the complete ruin of their country. But Russia will be fekked up too.
