"It's too late for Germany" (but not for Poland)

Do you not think the power of words is interesting?

I'm much more powerful in Deutsch!

But than I would mainly discuss only with myself...which can get boring quickly...

ha! we should do 'intercambio'. How would you say that in German?

No idea...just ask me next time before you hurl an accusation at me, okay?

I didn't accuse you of anything , BB. I was just pointing out that your choice of words usually refers to insects...

What word would you use to describe the beach situation here?

youtube.com/watch?22=&v=KK-0DbOG3zk

If there's dehumanization it's from the migrants themselves, surrendering all principles dignity for a chance at what they think is an easier life by claiming asylum they certainly don't qualify for.

scared, desperate people maf. I certainly didn't see anyone behaving like an insect.

You do have a point, though I believe you are directing it at the wrong people. It is not BB who constantly dehumanizes refugees as "raping invading hordes" and "parasites". The Nazis did the same regarding jews in their efforts to dehumanize them and prepare the Germans for their elimination.

that very famous speech by Winston Churchill (we will fight them on the beaches...etc) Every single word was carefully chosen by his speech writers

I simply don't believe it. Could you please provide a link? Isn't "l'anglais n'est que du français mal prononcé"?

we should do 'intercambio'. How would you say that in German?

Austausch? [Bei der Konferenz gab es einen tollen Austausch von Ideen]

I don't think I am directing at the wrong people, but exactly the right ones. Ones that might actually listen to what I am saying, and respond by thinking more about their words next time. BB is OK.

Net migration to Germany from Poland has actually increased (...) especially in Western Pommerania.

Maybe those part will get 'Polonized' then. But the problem here is a federal government that has more power than a local one. One decision from Angela about building a huge refugees camp let's say in Rostock and relocating african and arabs there may change that.

The main problem with statistics, you see, is that they don't explain people's motivations and only present their actions post-factum, when it is too late to react already.

And a lots, a lots of inconvenient statistics are being manipulated with by the government. Examples: rape statistics in Sweden, crime statistics in Germany after 2015

Orban is constantöy ranting about refugees, while all the young Hungarians are leaving

But the property purchase by a German citizens has skyrocketed in a recent years for the very same reason!

I don't agree, being a linguist.

As I said, it's dehumanizing. In my opinion.

Really? It doesn't sound like an opinion of the expert. What branch of linguistics is your field of expertise?

Maybe you are one of those people who want to prove that it is impossible for the normal people to talk.

consider that European migration to

Why would you even consider that? That is a false narrative if I ever seen one. Those are completely different issues. When will this stupid approach stop? Why don't you go to the vet if you have problem with your health? After all both have a medical degree. No difference at all - right? Maybe it is all more simple - are you stupid?

Another personal opinion of yours?

As for german emigration there is of course also a statistic:

Each year, more than 100,000 Germans leave the country to live elsewhere in the world, according to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).

thelocal.de/20170810/here-are-the-top-countries-where-germans-immigrate-to

There is even a list:

German immigrants - the top 10 countries:

1. Switzerland: 18,266
2. United States of America: 13,438
3. Austria: 10,239
4. United Kingdom: 8,917
5. Turkey: 6,750
6. Spain: 6,216
7. France: 5,863
8. Poland: 5,536
9. Australia: 3,523
10. Netherlands: 3,384

Hungary doesn't even makes it into that list...even as Hungary is such a great country with such nice people (most favourite holiday destination for Ossis)...but I would never achieve to learn the lingua.

And if I want to avoid foreigners I wouldn't emigrate to the US or the UK at all...they are full of them!

(Not to mention that emigres to Turkey are probably former german-Turks...the same with Poland?)

Applied Linguistics..:) No need to get offended, Iron, it's just a discussion.

I have no wish to stop anyone talking. don't be silly. I just think we should all be more aware of the implications of certain words.

You'll gain a lots of linguistic material on this forum. Enough for a doctorate that's for sure :-)

@Bratwurst Boy,

You seem to have missed my entire point!
The reason so many live or reside in Germany from nearly everywhere under the sun is a direct result of "white", ethnically-German Germans sucn as Angela Merkel trying to make amends for their past and the crimes committed in their name.

@Bratwurst Boy is famous of missing an entire point and changing inconvenient subjects. Some less patient forum members could even accuse him of...trolling? :-)

But I think it's just an attention seeking behaviour.

Did you actually read the article?

...Yet the real truth is that there is no up-to-date public data on the ethnic background of criminals in the country, with existing figures more than a decade old.

I wonder where the numbers about a rape-capital Stockholm came from....

Poland is no dummy to the motivations and intentions of the so called asylum.
I was most impressed by what Poland told the Saudi's when they wanted to build a Mosque in Poland for the Muslims.
The Saudis offered to pay for and build the first mosque in Poland, and Tarczyski told their Minister, "Thank you and that would be wonderful-but first, Poland will build a beautiful cathedral for you in downtown Riyadh-and we'll see how that works out and go from there."

Hail Poland.........Golden choice of linguists !

Nah...can't be. Spikey here would be a huge fan of Merkel and the Merkel-Republic if that would be the case.

Another link you only managed to grasp the headline of but were to dumb to read the full article...nothing in it speaks of manipulation of a statistic.

They even repeat and use the same data! They just explain and interpret the numbers.

Just try it Spikey...if a German can do it, you can do it to...you are a resilient Pole...not even hindered by dirty toilets....I believe in you...just try!

They have stopped sharing public data when the statistics started to look "bad"

Because the gutless leaders of the EU had instructed member nations to quit reporting incidents of Muslim male violence against women, to 'keep the public from being alarmed'.........as if it wasn't already alarmed after 194 terrorist attacks in just four years.

Since the 2015 -16 flood of 'asylum seekers' as the EU calls them, reported rapes in Sweden alone have increased 1300%.
Gang rape by young Muslim men who comprise over 80% of the swarms invading Europe every day is now a social epidemic.

Since this is such an interesting topic for you, I have found a picture...no reading necessary...how is that, Spikey:

Also...the darker the coloration the more rapes, okay? Can you follow me? Good...

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_statistics#Policy_and_statistics_by_country

As you can hopefull see clearly...Sweden has the same coloring as for example the UK or the US....Germany has the same coloring as for example Russia...and nobody is accusing Russia of being overrun by knife wielding muslims!

you (...) were to dumb to read the full article

I can see that you're getting angry and personal now, and I could just ignore you. Instead, I will explain it to you calmly: I don't necessarily agree with the point of this article but I'm finding those numbers interesting. Quote from the article:

"While such crime went down by 21.9 percent between 2007 and 2014, it was up again by 10.4 percent by the end of 2016. Some 83 percent of the cases were solved -- and 92.1 percent of the increase was attributable to the newcomers"

and then: "Between 2014 and 2016, the share of solved violent crimes attributed to asylum seekers increased to 13.3 percent from 4.3 percent -- a disproportionately high share compared with the state's foreign population."

You can use google translator if your command of English doesn't let you understand the text. Or just ask on forums. We're here to help

No, they didn't. Stop posting made up nonsense on here to suit your own American agenda of sowing disharmony and chaos in Europe.

Since the 2015 -16 flood of 'asylum seekers' as the EU calls them, reported rapes in Sweden alone have increased 1300%.

Some "news" are just to nice, arent' they...

In 2012, Sweden had 66 cases of reported rapes per 100,000 population, according to the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention (Brå).[242] This was unequivocally the biggest number reported to the UNODC in 2012.[243] .........

However, widely differing legal systems, offence definitions, terminological variations, recording practices and statistical conventions makes any cross-national comparison on rape statistics difficult,[244][245][246][247]

I'm German and I can tell you that the Swedes are not that different to us, that's why this "news" of a rape-capital Stockholm was never really believed here. You must live far away to really fall for that.

In the same vein you could say the same of Berlin, and here I KNOW that would be a lie...sorry. You have to be very gullible to believe such things...

Oh you idiot! Now you are already forgetting your own personal opinions? Is your attention span that low?

And a lots, a lots of inconvenient statistics are being manipulated with by the government. Examples: ... crime statistics in Germany after 2015

Remember? That was your post just a few minutes back!

It wasn't me doubting the german crime statistics, IT WAS YOU! You spoke of "manipulated" statistics...

And now you are using the same data of this "manipulated" statistic to prove...WHAT?

Oh boy, go home and order your few left braincells please before you post here again...

@johnny reb

Cars driving into crowds don't even make headline news anymore.... that's how accustomed w Europe has become to being culturally enriched on a regular basis.... Numerous eurocrats have stated that terrorism is merely a part of modern life in a European city... pathetic...

the Swedes are not that different to us, that's why this "news" of a rape-capital Stockholm was never really believed here.

Perhaps the Germans didn't simply see it as a big deal, considering a thousand women were sexually assaulted in one city on one night alone (only 2 perps were arrested, and the sentences for rape are a joke in W Europe)... yet Merkel kept the floodgates open...

2015 -16 flood of 'asylum seekers' as the EU calls them, reported rapes in Sweden alone have increased 1300%.

Yes, that's true Johnny. I have a Swedish friend who lives in Stockholm and she is sending me some "juicy" articles from time to time about the situation in Sweden. She used to be 'leftist' but not anymore. Funny thing is that she needs to hide her opinion in Sweden and can only talk about it with her family. There's a very thin line in Sweden between voicing your opinion and being a "hate criminal" which is punishable.
