If Western democracy is weak, as in Weimar Germany, then freedom of expression and the philosophical maturity that comes with liberty don't stand a chance!

Always a lot simpler to have someone in charge do the thinking and feeling for others than for people to take matters into their own hands.

Sadly though, all too many took this philosophy to the extreme back in 1980 when they en masse voted Reagan into office and essentially turned their backs on the New Deal.

@Alien
Seems to you. I would say you have problem with acceptance democracy. Given the fact you claim to reside in Germany WHERE Merkel and her party were ruling 20?15? Constantly, your complain sounds like a bad joke or a lame excuse.

Neither "dictatorship" is healthy, either the extreme left or the extreme right.
However, at least in the case of the former, the agenda seems to be to redress past wrongs, afflict the comfortable and comfort the afflicted, instead of simply steamrolling over all those whose ideas are different and initiating violence rather than merely responding to it.

problem with acceptance democracy.

You see, I've never had a problem with accepting democracy a la Mrs. Merkel, but I have had problems with accepting democracy a la Mr. Orban or Mr. Kaczyński.

What it shows is that those who really rule America couldn't care less what government Poland has, as long as they obediently fulfill all the tasks that the US state department assigns to them.

@Crnogorac3
The Polish People's Republic had the most favored nation clause in trade with the US, and that as a country of the communist bloc. What for? Certainly not for the defense of democracy.

Let's not also forget that in Yugoslavia for years they supported the commie dictator Tito and didn't mind at all doing business with him.

A socialist who lived like a maharaja, like a Roman emperor, in a country where the law of equality applies to everyone, he was the most equal among the equals, he had everything, he bathed in bird's milk... while his compatriots fled to Germany and Sweden for " temporary work", his media machinery told fairy tales about the great success and progress of the Yugoslav economy, industry... not to mention political factories.

tito

A great manipulator, and a great politician. I guess it all comes down to being one and the same.

Look at how the Brits were lining up for him.

he bathed in bird's milk...

okay.... is that the Hungarian desert (madar tej) kind of like Polish 'zupa nic'?

Is it the chocolate coated with a marshmallow like center?

Or is it the product of.... handily stimulated men....?

Something else?

Quoting:

Tinderbox France braces for violence: Fresh clashes erupt with tear gas fired hours after hundreds of mourners attended open-coffin funeral of boy, 17, whose 'execution' by police during traffic stop sparked week of mayhem with 2,400 arrested

Hey, Frenchies, admit it .... It would be so cool to have the German army and German police in Paris. This crap would end in the first hour...

Actually...no...I wouldn't even start. Those were the good days of law and order.

The riots have spread to Belgium and Switzerland....Germany next?

We need to stop them coming, they are not good for us!

If you mean migrants, stopping is not good enough. Throw the garbage you have out!

BTW, I think I missed the referendum where the French voted to bring in all these Algerians...
Hey, bootlickers, can you help me with the date?

Comment from YouTube:

Sadly it's France's fault. The French voters had prime opportunities over the last few years to vote for Le Pen and did not. Now they see the result of their choices. So sad.

Hey, Lyzko, any advice from you? I am sure it's the rightwingers' fault. Welfare benefits for migrants are too low. Yeah..that's it...

Those muslim doctors and engineers surely look like a violent bunch.

I am quite sure I know the French leftists' answer to the current crisis: "Let's bring in more muslim immigrants! They will calm down when there's more of them here".

The price to pay for stupidity is always high. Very high.

This is the only thing the leftist Western governments fear and respect: The big fist of millions pis*ed off citizens.

Burn, baby, burn,...because your "legal representatives" are worthless bums, and your "democracy" is a fu*cking joke.

My daily prayer includes: God, let me be wrong just once...

We need this wall around Europe.....never thought I would say this!
GefreiterKania 35 | 1,406
2 Jul 2023 #261
Who's going to build the wall? Macron who blames video games for the violence? Or maybe the EU who persecutes Poland and Hungary for consistently opposing the islamisation of Europe? I wouldn't hold my breath.

When you shop around for your dream house on the Baltic coast, BB, make sure you choose one on the Polish side of the border. It will be safer there.

A wall is not possible with a coastline that long. Deportations, and keeping the migrant boats from lenading can be started tomorrow.
Let them starve, drown, beg, whatever...After the first hundred deaths, the news will be out there: The Euros mean business. No sense trying.

Even deportations are easy if you mean it. Give them a deadline with nasty consequences if they won't and they will self-deport.

Those "autocratic" places like China are looking better and better...

Some asked me why I am not in Moscow. Between Paris and Moscow... an easy call.

It will be safer there.

If not for my family here, I would already be there.

BB, make sure you choose one on the Polish side of the border.

*nods* In any case!

I'm truly glad Poland and Hungary said no to that asylum "deal"....we need more realistic and pragmatic voices in Brussels!

we need more realistic and pragmatic voices in Brussels!

You will get them only through violence. See Paris. Writing to your "legal representatives" just annoys your "legal representatives".
The only way to get their attention is by burning their houses down. A short flight from the 10th-floor balcony is also fairly effective.

Who knows how many votes Le Pen will get again because of these riots....I really would like to see if and what she would do!
Alien 21 | 5,154

how many votes Le Pen will get again because of these riots

Not necessarily. Normal French people who want to live peacefully will not choose Le Pen because she is the other extreme.

Oh no, we don't need tossers like you. Stay away!

Germany next?

Is not a question of power, France has enough of it to stamp those riots out, it is a question of will or/and same scheme/ I wonder what it is all about...?

Le Pen or Macron it doesn't make difference for Poland.

muslim immigrants!

I think it is less a problem of islam but more of so called Arabs, people won't say it as it would branded them racist. However it seems there something to it. Those rioting in France are mostly Arabs.
