I didn't know the perpetrator was a woman. Such a murder could not have been prevented anyway. There is no prevention here because young women are not a risk group. I don't know if she is repressed in prison. However, it is very likely.

It could have been prevented twice. 1. By not letting her in. 2. By actually deporting her instead of making it do-it-yourself deportation.
A country is free to discriminate against foreign visa applicants all it wants - just as I am free to discriminate when inviting people for dinner.

And then there is the question of benefits. It's beneficial to let American tourists in. It's stupid to let migrants in. Or "students". 9/11 was done by "students".

Seems to me that in the USA people assume that the EU is a country, or something like that. As much as Germans and some other lefties want it to be, the EU still is not a country. If it were it right now they would be ruled by German - French and could as well side with China or Russia rather then USA.

Indeed. Especially since anti-air defence systems are incredibly expensive. Perhaps more expensive than any other modern weaponry sans aircraft carriers. If Poland joins we could cover almost all of Eastern and Central Europe.

Look, what common defence? Poland has better army that Germany by ten, (not to say we have some great force) but still. Defence wise we would have to defend you because French do not have land army too.

You have ageing population, people spoiled by welfare and only neo-nazis are willing to serve in your military. What common defence? What about NATO?
Also even if you start buliding something up - the project Sky Shield - for example. It will take years, decades to develop. It is not as if you have all ready, just a year or two from complition.

If we have decades we can sent it up by ourselves or with those countries we see eye to eye on Russia.
German proposition has:
1. keep control over nearby military (I suppose those who will give more money will be in charge).
2. being a part of it Germany can always stole or sabotage such a project from whithin.
3. keep an close eye on Poland buffing up its military.

Why not Poland? There is no incentive for Poland in that.

Let us be real here. If Warsaw was ever to contemplate such a foolosh and dangerous move, the reliability of a shared anti-air system would likely be one of the less pressing concerns.

In any case I'd argue that getting the best affordable protection for its' citizen should be a higher priority than plans for invading a neighbouring country.
