Since when are you such a huge admirer of Russian special forces?

Paulina generally is very interested in army, especially special forces.

WTF, why?

Ask her but I thought everyone knew by now it's one of her interests. I do like army too, just not to that extent.

Never expected Paulina to tell me how awesome Spetsnaz is.

Remember she was a Russophile.

I'm not an "admirer" of RuSSian special forces in particular - I think I'm just being realistic.

You wrote that some Texas sheriff's department has "probably" better kit than SEAL Team 6. That's a big "probably" considering SEAL Team 6 is a Tier 1 unit. Besides, having a good kit doesn't magically turn you into a "Rambo" lol

It's like comparing an average Green Beret, or a Ranger, to somebody who belongs to a team of a dozen operators that goes and finds Bin Laden.

No, we're discussing here a specific situation - one in which counter terrorist units would be used - I'm guessing that's what you mean by "police spetsnaz"? Or what branch deals with terror attacks in RuSSia?

Remember she was a Russophile.

Yes, but this doesn't have anything to do with it.

If I wasn't forced by various events to educate myself about the army, I would never care about it.

It's a miserable institution, meant to kill in people all initiative and ambition.

Spetsnaz may be a little bright spot in that regard, but barely.

For a woman to take interest in these things, seems to me idiotic.

I would much rather learn about sailing, rock climbing, technical scuba diving, etc... than how to infiltrate some position unnoticed and rig an explosive charge.

what branch deals with terror attacks in RuSSia?

Historically "Alpha". Alpha is under FSB now.

"... не меньше, чем восьмивершковый..." ;)

I think it is pretty normal for woman to have interest in how elite males looks like. ;)

"... не меньше, чем восьмивершковый..." ;

Ну... она не просто о них говорит как о образцовых самцах, а учит меня про компетентность различных формирований, и еще всякие суждения предлагает.

Не, это че-то другое. По-моему она реально помешана на спецназе - нашем.

Or you can look at it from the point of courage, dedication, discipline, loyalty etc. Not to mention the mental and physical strength in an individual.

Btw guys, you do remember we both speak Russian, right?

You mean that Tier 1 Alpha Group? 🤔

I agree :D

You're too RuSSian-centred, Bobko :)))

This whole conversation is a joke!

Paulina and Bobko discussing Russian special forces composition and use.

Like Pope Francis and Ayatollah Khamenei discussing food crisis in Venezuela.

Hello, Politruk Lenka.

What can I say, I come from a family respecting the uniform.
And I certainly appreciate the skills it takes to be special forces.

We said nothing bad.

Didn't say you did.
Although the slight hint that a women is interested in army simply because she likes how the guys look does rub me the wrong way

I certainly appreciate the skills it takes to be special forces.

Do you appreciate what it takes to build a company as a Russian emigrant in the American market, with no start up capital, no experience, and no connections?

Do you appreciate what it takes to build a pipeline through virgin forest and swamps across thousands of kilometers?

Maybe this will make you view special forces in a different light?

I work with a lot of former special forces guys. I don't think they scare anybody in our space :)

BTW:

It turned out that while police spetsnaz come too late to get four killers in Crocus, the rest was done quite professionally. Car was found quite fast (probably at the entry to a toll road) and then followed to a point where their further route was completely clear (few km from last chance to turn to Belarus). Then in some place where road pass through forest, wheels was shot and all four tried to hide between trees. ;) They just forgot to cool down to a freezing temperature to become invisible to a night vision equipment. ;)

During this trip they called to various persons, uploaded photos and videos from Crocus to their curators. And all this stuff was noted by a competent people in real time, and tree of past contacts built. ;)

So, there is 11 suspects already arrested in relation to Crocus case, and some more in the wanted/kill list.

No, not really.

While I appreciate the effort your examples take it is not the same.

I don't think they scare anybody in our space :)

Maybe simply because you are not their target?

I think elegant answer to your elegant solution will be some hypersonic missile

It would trigger article 5. I like it.

They are nothing without enabling organizations and resources. Unless, you are imagining some kind of Hollywood style mafia hit on poor Bobko.

I admit - this I'm not prepared for, haha!

While I appreciate the effort your examples take it is not the same.

Yes. It's infinitely harder to do what I described.

In my world.

1) No guidance/mentorship
2) No "warrior family"
3) No resources
4) No commander
5) No mission

I just invent everyday, what will be my purpose.

Do you know, how much I would love to be a special forces operator, who they tell:

1) Tomorrow you will go there
2) You will kill this man
3) We will pick you up for extraction at the following grid points

I am actually responsible for my decisions and their outcome.

Nothing gets "triggered". A5 is cited or invoked.

Memo to the brave morons who are counting on the US to commit suicide because you are brave morons: Don't.
We don't even want to protect our own country so go and fvck yourself.

make guys sing without taking singing lessons.

Sometimes physics lessons (especially chapters "Mechanics" and "Electricity") give better results in student singing technique that banal singing lessons.

Yes, Alpha is supposed to be good.

Before the war, they trained with their American, French and German counterparts.

Yes, Alpha is supposed to be good.

So I've heard lol So... You're trying to tell us that "there's no difference" between FSB's Tier 1 Alpha Group (operating in a country - and outside of it - like RuSSia with quite a few terror attacks in its history, etc.) and regular American police? Really? lol
Novichok 4 | 8,276
25 Mar 2024 #475
like RuSSia with quite a few terror attacks in its history,

There were no terror attacks in RuSSia.

The terrorists I know are PF morons who use psych tools to annoy the adults.

Try banging your stupid head on the wall. Maybe this will speed up U's victory.

@Novichok, I can't help but notice a certain pattern :) - often when I successfully debunk some bullsh1t posted by one of PF Putinists, you suddenly start focusing on my spelling of RuSSia and you start abusing me :)))

This always tells me that I'm going in the right direction :D

There were no terror attacks in RuSSia.

I'm a zodiacal Gemini and I like learning about new stuff ;)

They sent SOBR which is under Rosgvardiya (Russian National Guard). Mainly involved with crowd control and raiding organsied crime. Though they have some rapid response capabilities.

Seems an odd choice since that Alpha FSB group has helicopters and way more experienced. The helicopter pilot was prob too drunk to take off.

What Did The U.S. Know Ahead of Moscow Terror Attack Claimed by ISIS-K? w/ Mark Sleboda

@Paulina
I think the comparison he was making was in how the US police is equiped in general. Europeans would be shocked at some of the equipment even small town police have. I know a town, less than 100K people in the city, and the police have their own armored personell carrier among other items. Something happens and it looks like a military unit being deployed. Lots of former military and special forces become police when rejoining civilian life.

Bobko I don't want anything from you so I will stop yanking your chain for a few hours

Just wondering how everyday Moscow people respond to this indifference and the ludicrous explanation about traffic ?

In the West, and even in Poland, a poor response by emergency services is a scandal with consequences - Uvalde is one example but also the Grenfell fire in London for example.

But in Moscow it seems people are used to the fact that the state is not there to protect them and that their lives are expendable, and that is weird to us that it is accepted.

It explains why the Udmurtian public are indifferent to Ukrainian civilians being attacked and basically think they deserve it just for being Ukrainian.
