Polish Parliamentary Elections 2023

your book PiS is left wing?

Did anyone say that? They are right wing on most issues.

But, but you have said

The left wing want us and those around us to enjoy the full fruits of our labour.

That's PiS. Giving everyone money. As opposed to PO, who likes to increase retirement age while putting money into their own pockets.

But

You're trying to create a binary split between two absolutes. Politics (the kind involved holding office rather than just fantasy) is not absolutist and PiS, as you know, are a right wing party, deeply socially reactionary, with some economically left wing elements that they've derived partly from Christian social justice and partly since they are of course a vote winner.

Giving

Returning.

And of course Platforma aren't enriching themselves personally any more or less than PiS activists are. PO are rather too much to the right for me, essentially centre-right like wet Tories, however their social policies are certainly more in line with mainstream opinion than PiS' hysteria about Teletubbies and abortion.

deeply socially reactionary

Read: they are against "rights for perverts, gender nonsense, and all around woke bullshit"?

with some economically left wing elements

Like "want us and those around us to enjoy the full fruits of our labour"?

Yes, jon, this is why I consider PiS lesser of two evils. LOL

rights for perverts, gender nonsense, and all around woke bullshit

Nutty rants like that are one of many reasons that reactionary social conservatism always loses in the end.

this is why I consider

Except they don't believe at all in protecting workers from exploitation at all, do they. LOL.

For the rest of the earth's population however, it relates to economics and equality.

LOL - tell that to the Black population, the Left has made them slaves to the system you fool.

Weak. Is it all you can muster?

Better than you did, and a very clear description of reactionary hysteria.

PiS and those of their tendency came before them make, as reactionaries always do, the very common mistake that people in developed societies are constantly moving forward, and the 'norms' whose loss terrifies them (which were never universal anyway) ceased to be true norms by the time they enter politics and within a couple of decades are seen as old fashioned.

This election could go in different ways. The war will have its effect as will the number of older and less well educated voters who died and the number of new voters who have grown up in a more outward looking and world, and a danger (for both PiS and Poland as a whole) is that the extreme hysteria and paranoia that they have done their best to whip up is both offputting to most people under 35 and not hysterical enough for the pond life who might be tempted to vote for Konya or other fringe ideologies.

:-D
You need to try harder.

No need; I barely 'tried' at all and succeeded very nicely indeed.

Don't worry. Society as a whole 'tries' constantly to evolve. If social and political change, whether electorally in Poland or by mass communication frightens you so much now, wait until you're olde. The world, including of course Poland, will be unrecognisable to you.

I don't much like the scouts and supply line analogy

I didn't think you would as it's not based on a 200 year old marxist analysis ;)

There will be a another civil war and societal breakdown in the US, that is a given, over BS political ideological differences and extreme inequalities and deprivations created by the system that they chose. Regardless, it's like the civil wars in the roman empire before the goths sacked rome, in this case the goths are china and maybe russia. What happens in the US spreads throughout the whole world, especially Poland. Even now the polarisation and tensions in Poland are striking, a tvp journalist cannot go to a PO rally without being threatened and vis-a-vis for tvn24 journo at PiS rally.

Therefore we need new theories and ideologies that bring people together into a cohesive society, call it nation-state or whatever it doesn't matter, different groups need transcend their political differences and realise we are part of one western humanistic culture or it's game over, might as well teach the kids mandarin and that the han chinese are the master race.

description of reactionary hysteria.

If you keep pocking at people you will get reaction, the question is not why there is a raction or ways to describe it in your favour, the question here is - why you are poking on people? Let them be, stop molesting and there won't be reaction, histeria or anything else, just a jolly man minding his own bussienes.

Bring a man to histeria and blame him for that ---- that is just too mean and cruel.

maybe they should let Morawiecki go!?

Don't be silly, he is the smartest and moderate guy in the room and is respected for his intellect and dashing good looks all over the world.

Society as a whole 'tries' constantly to evolve

And this is why the EU will collapse, it has become a protection racket for international business and is therefore stuck and cannot evolve, it allows any change that doesn't threaten the business interests at it's core. Even Russia invading Ukraine its still not enough, because protection rackets can only protect what they are designed to protect and nothing more. PiS are actually the progressive ones, they look to the future not the past.

BS. They are mentally stuck in communist times. Just one example: the deform of education they introduced consisted only on returning to the system which existed in communism. They are unable to create anything new which would be of some value because they lack intelligent people in their ranks. Simple.

Fekk those loser communist epigones!

Couldn't say it any better...I mean the whole post, not just the segment I quoted.
If we had real investigative reporters, they would be sniffing around and lifting rocks all day long. Instead, we have presstitutes.

How much is the Kremlin paying you for trolling against the EU??? Be gone, secret agent of Putin!

Minister Błaszczak is no doing PiS any favours either. Looks PiS is going to have a hard time to win an election this time.

I do this for free tragically! And PiS are the number one opponents of Putin in Europe, what has your man DT said about Russia and Putin??

NOTHING!!!!

It hit me this morning, I was finishing a glass of water and the words staring back at me were 'IKEA, made in Russia' and DT's position became sickeningly clear to me....

gee how all that pertain to Polish election in 2023, are all of you want to vote for me??? even carpetbagger?wow! I might consider it.

By the way I'm saying that PiS doesn't do that well and same goes for PO. This years election is going to be a very close shave..

This years election is going to be a very close shave..

Aren't you happy that your party will be the kingmakers?
What a choice!

- Join the PiS or PO establishment, ie selling out, like all 'protest' parties eventually do, or throw Poland into an democratic chaos, with another election a few months after this one.. The latest rumour was Tusk negotiating with Konfa to join a POPSL/2050 coalition, with Lewica frozen out. Wonder what konfa voters will think about that?

To appease them, a neo-liberal economic agenda would be unleashed onto poland. Mass privatisations of PKP, ZUS, Orlen etc. There would be pride parades but user pays, 50 zloty to get in + 10 extra if you want to wave a flag.
Luke1410  - | 146
6 Aug 2023   #146

In tbe event of a Konfa KO alliance i think lride parades will be the least of Poland's worries...

Things are getting seriously dangerous for Poland with a pro Russian government on the cusp of power.

Things are getting seriously dangerous

Yes what power mad wierdo smiles like that, hours after the death of the polish president and the polish government elite? If people can't see that's dodgy then they have rocks in their head.

getting seriously dangerous for Poland with a pro Russian government

There is a saying that applies to Tusk "Ten Bydlak potrzebuje dwóch mistrzów. To ma we krwi" This Swine needs two masters, It's in his blood.

The two masters of Tusk are Germany and Russia. Tusk is the last man you want in power when Germany and Russia agree it's time to negotiate over Ukraine and no more EU money as time to get back to business.

An interesting (and very telling) cartoon in the Economist on how the liberal western press views Poland and the current Polish government. Have the western masters had enough of PiS and decided it's time to press the button and flush them down the toilet 🚽 into the Baltic sea, the Vistula, Oder or Warta rivers?
