Despicable Ukrainian lies

@pawian

The fact that Polish businesses cooperated with Ukrainian oligarchs in the process of selling the grain here doesn't take the blame away from the latter. They knew straight away that the grain will be sold on the Polish market (instead of being just transported through Poland, like agreed) and that's exactly what they demand at the moment - to open the Polish and other frontier countries' markets.

The fact that their prime minister is so impudent in his lies indicates - as Iron very sensibly predicts - that he might sit in their pocket, figuratively speaking. Ukraine is not one bit less corrupt than Russia and their oligarchs are not one bit less greedy. If you think otherwise, you display naivety unbecoming of your age.

I know about corruption in Ukraine. But it was you who mentioned only Ukrainian oligarchs in one of your initial posts, cleverly omitting the case of Polish business people who bought the grain. That is why I still correctly claim you are lying and manipulating in this thread.

But I admitted it straight away some posts later. If I don't write about everything in one single post, it doesn't mean that I "cleverly omit" that. Really, Pawian, you must be a difficult person to live around - your willingness to ascribe bad intentions to people is astounding.

I don't like this false equivalency. Businessmen are businessmen, and will do what they can to earn a profit so long as it is not expressly illegal. It is the job of regulators and lawmakers to police the playground. Relying on a businessman's morals or geopolitical outlook, to prevent resale of Ukrainian grain inside Poland seems to me to be very stupid.

Make it illegal, then deal with the remaining trouble makers. In fact, this is more or less what was done.

You clearly look in the mirror too often then :)))

Sure, you are left with an egg on your face again and now I know why it happens to you so often.

Putin certainly did not properly account for.

At the end of a day they want to defend themselves and good for them. IF Russia will get cut down to size that good too, far too long Moscow had been walking in boots it is not able to fill.

Too backwood, too curde and too corrupt.

Too late. You did it after I took up the discussion. The milk had already spilled. Ha!

to ascribe bad intentions to people is astounding.

Still azholing??? :):):) It was easy to detect your bad intentions. It was enough to read the name of the thread. Ha!

I was struggling to decide which thread this belonged in - so I will put it here.

On August 25th, in St Petersburg, there was held the "All-Russian Day of Catholic Youth". Pope Francis delivered an address to the young people in attendance, by video link.

At some point, he said the following:

"Никогда не забывайте о наследии. Вы - потомки великой России: великой России святых, правителей, великой России Петра I, Екатерины II, той империи - великой, образованной, великой культуры и великой человечности. Никогда не отказывайтесь от этого наследия. Вы - потомки великой Матушки России, шагайте вперед с этим. И спасибо вам - спасибо за ваш способ быть, за ваш способ быть русскими".

Google Translation:

"Never forget your heritage. You are the descendants of great Russia: the great Russia of the saints, its rulers, great Russia of Peter I, Catherine II, an empire - of greatness, education, great culture and great humanity. Never give up on this heritage. You are the descendants of the great Mother Russia, step forward with this. And thank you - thank you for your way of being, and for your way of being Russian."

How did the Ukrainian foreign ministry react? With an explosion of bubbling feces as usual, of course.

The Ukrainian state, in general, has been on fantastically bad terms with the Vatican the last two years. I really wonder what Crow would say about all this - haha!

Quote from UA MFA:

It is very sad that Russian great-power ideas, which, in fact, are the cause of Russia's chronic aggressiveness, consciously or unconsciously, come from the lips of the Pope, whose mission, in our understanding, is precisely to open the eyes of Russian youth to a destructive course of the current Russian leadership.

This is one of the more tame things they've said to the Pope in the last year or so. Last time, they basically told him to not stick his nose into things he doesn't understand.

@Ironside

We must be paying the Pope a lot, since he's been pretty consistent in advocating dialogue and peace - to the infinite irritation of the Ukrainians.

Maybe it's something about being from Argentina, which makes him immune to the charm of the narrative provided by the Western media of a black and white conflict.

Just saying.

Quite correctly. That pathetic pope behaves like a true azhole. Fekk him and all his mad enunciations.

Maybe, or maybe being that on par with all those western idiots with their 68 revolution and ideas planted by the KGB stooges.

That pathetic pope

When he preaches a more liberal Catholicism - he's your Pope. You have no problem understating him within your framework of hate for PiS.

When he says something supportive of Russian dignity - he's a pathetic Pope.

I think this approach itself is... pathetic.

Very well said, Your Holiness! It's always a good idea to direct young people towards their Christian roots.

Catherine II

Hm... I wonder when our Foreign Ministry will invite Papal nuncio for a talk. ;)

I really wonder what Crow would say about all this - haha!

Imagine Crow saying something positive about Vatican! 0_0

No, he isn`t. I generally reject the black mafia. I only support the clergy in my village. Coz I know them by their deeds.

Let's not simplify things too much, Iron. The great East-West Schism is still an open wound on the Church's body. The worst and most shameful wound, considering how little separates us theologically from the East. If any Pope could ever heal this wound, wouldn't that be something?

Maybe we, being small people on a small forum, just fail to see the greatness of Pope Francis. Hm...

I don't know much about Christianity, or Catholicism... but is it normal to tell the Vicar of Christ, the apostolic successor to St Peter - to whom Jesus gave the keys to Heaven - to fu*k himself?

Yes, it is typical of Polish intelligentsia - truly believing in Goddess but suspicious of the black mafia. Even the greatest Polish poets were critical of Popes in their times. Ha!!!!

And they were right to be sometimes, as we both know from history. There is, however, a certain difference between nobly standing up to the Pope when you think he treats your country unfairly and telling him to f*ck himself.

Ah, well - I suppose the border between inteligencja and żulia is quite fluid these days.

@Bobko, Poles were very disappointed with the attitude of popes towards the partitions of Poland and Polish struggle for independence. As Catholics they felt betrayed by the Vatican:

polskieradio.pl/39/156/artykul/2951106,franciszek-nie-jest-pierwszy-gdy-papiez-nie-potepia-rosji

Probably that's why one of Polish most important poets, Juliusz Słowacki, predicted the coming of a Slavic pope in one of his poems - a pope that will make everything right. Here's a fragment:

"Into the midst of riotous squabblers
God sounds his gong;
Here is the Slavic Pope, your new ruler;
Make way, applaud.
This one will not, like Italians before him,
Flee sworded throngs;
Our world disdainer will fight like a tiger,
Fearless like God."

It turned out to be prophetic.
