No, it is not your bad anything-it is his spelling here that is wrong-not yours!

Generalize is the norm.

lol, i guess my situation has sent my spelling and concentration to the dog house :)

by the way

generalize, AMERICAN

Generalise, BRITISH

there are two spellings :)

so maybe the dam Serbian isn't blowing my concentration totally :) but a lot

Generalise, BRITISH

I have never used this type of spelling, mind you, I am not a very good speller myself so I will not get too bogged down in a debate about spelling.

wow you started the spelling thing and even called me names over it and even brought another person into it quote 'bloody Serb' lol.

so please don't question me on my spelling unless you are in the position to do so, thanks

I am right and you are wrong. We spell the word generalize as generalize and in fact it was you who started this off by criticizing a Polish girl's spelling of the word. I did not start this topic of conversation. As for the bloody Serbian girl, I could not care two brass monkeys what you do. And in the same room, I would say the same to your face. You can idz do diabla.

Serbain

I realise that you are struggling with the concept of British spelling Michal you only alledgedly live here then again that doesn't stop the natives either. You're learning but we're very fond of our ise they're the window to our nationality apparently.

But because it's called English we're rightly proud that it was the other lot that mucked up the spelling, not us. The only reason it's the norm as you claim is because they're the ones that make the computer software.

When Word goes through an English English text you see more red than on the Sudanese Coast.
No wonder we all prefer text speak. Less of a Pain in the arse Michal. That's Ass for you non English English users. Or was it a Baguette?

edit: I am right and you are wrong.

I admire your self belief but on this occasion, it's Honours even. And look there is another one.

I am right and you are wrong.

i think you'll find were both right in our respected countries :)

criticizing a Polish girl's spelling

i was not criticising just explaining to her how to spell the word, i think you'll find i did it in a civil manner.

As for the bloody Serbian girl, I could not care two brass monkeys what you do

of course not, a self centred guy like you i wouldn't expect anything else

I would say the same to your face.

what a big man you are :) i would laugh straight back :)

idz do diabla

at least have the balls to say it in English

We spell the word generalize as generalize

Generalise or generalize both are perfectly acceptable. Both are correct. It's the same with quite a few words where you can either use an 's' or an 'x'........both are grammatically correct !

You can idz do diabla.

That's not a nice thing to say to Torny, and I think if anyone said it to you , you would be complaining about it.......

:(

That's Ass for you non English English users. Or was it a Baguette?

Lol, you are so funny.........:)

so what does it mean?? i really don't mind, i would just rather it be explained

Generalise or generalize both are perfectly acceptable.

exactly what i just said to him :)

I think it's go to hell.

ok well it isn't that bad, i don't believe in heaven and hell so it dosen't really matter to me.

Thanks for the translation

30 Sep 2007 #230
so what does it mean??

It just means something like ' Go to Hell' or go to the devil......but it's more like swearing at someone when you say it in Polish...... Well, that's what i was taught anyway and I was brought up 'proper' like <g> There is no justification for michal making that comment towards you !

You are totally correct about generalise and generalize......bit like legalise and legalize..........etc.....

Michal is wrong !!

Are you going to argue about one letter and a mistake in spelling? That's just silly...

no i think LIR was pointing out about what Michal said to me rather than the spelling
Lady in red
30 Sep 2007 #233
a mistake in spelling?

There was no error in the spelling/spellings and Tornado was correct. it's not about arguing, a lot of people here rely on knowing about such issues as they are learning English. It appears that Michal is the one who wishes to argue the toss !!

why don't you let it go if you know that somebody is only provoking you ?

wow wow wow i'm not arguing really, i have more things to think about than that, lol.

i was just saying that there were two ways to spell it :)

I think maybe, you should refer your comments to Michal not to Tornado or myself......<s>

yes, maybe i should, i just knew that tornado takes it less seriously and be smarter just to let it go....

:D

but i give up.... i just let it go now :D

The rudest person on this page isn't a Polish person.
