Unfortunately i must say that most of poles are racist

Polish are racist??? The ones that live in Poland? I live in New York USA and I don't find the Polish people that live here to be racist, at least most.

I have seen blacks that are racist (very infact) and some go as far and say it to your face. I just wish people (black) would stop hating me and my friends for attrocities commited hundreds of years ago.

I do agree with you that blacks are more racist towards Polish. My niece (married to my nephew) is Polish and a lot of black women at work pick on her for being white (blond, blue eyes). It's very hard on her. My sisters have also been picked on by blacks. As a matter of fact, she was jumped a group of black girls just for being white.

but most british people are probably more racist than your average Pole

You are probably right.

It is definitely an asinine remark to claim that an entire ethnic group is racist, especially given the wide-spread Polish diaspora. I simply cannot fathom applying such a title to any ethnic group, including the Poles, that I know in Canada.

I recently visited Poland and as I am wont to do, I have reflected on my trip to better understand different places and people. Although I was born in Canada, my heritage is Chinese, and in going to Poland, I knew that I would stick out like a sore thumb.

As expected, I did receive constant stares, and at first I just accepted that it was simply unusual for an asian to be in Poland. That is what I would like to believe, but it certainly did not feel that it was so simple. It may sound silly, but it is fatiguing when you see people outright staring at you, so you smile, which is returned with the same cold stare. So it is tempting, and indeed likely, that what I experienced was xenophobia and dislike for being different.

In the places to which I have traveled, and indeed lived, yes I have experienced racism. However, no where have I encountered such common but silent hostility. In this, my experience seems to echo what others have said. I never felt to be in physical danger, but I was constantly reminded that I was an unwelcome stranger.

That was just the general vibe. Talking to people, on the other hand, was an enjoyable experience. I also must say that many Polish people were pleasantly amused by my feeble attempts to speak Polish, unlike the French, many of whom simply expect that everyone should speak perfect French, which I speak, but with an accent.

If you experienced xenophobia, you would still feel that on your ass.

It's difficult for you to understand this, but racism can take many forms other than violence.

this thread by its title alone is racist or at least stereotyping.

Take my advice and don't be so egocentric and obsessed with your race.

It is easy to say that without receiving constant looks of contempt. The first step to fixing a problem is to admit that it exists, and as the world becomes increasingly diverse, that is a choice for your country.

NEVER trust The BRITISH PROPAGANDAS !!! Everyone KNOWS very well that Brits are the Most RACIST people in EUROPE !!! Good Trial Though... You Simply Changed the Numbers and the Source ;))) Here's the Truth and I've Got ALL the Proofs ;))) The report shows that while 57% of Britons say they want to live in an area where ‘almost nobody is of a different race, colour or ethnic group from most people living in this country’, this actually places the UK amongst the most tolerant nations in Europe given the comparable percentages for other countries which are -

• Switzerland 23%
• Sweden 42%
• Germany & Luxembourg 38%
• France & Norway 29%
• Italy & UK 57%
• Finland & Spain 46%
• Netherlands 32%
• Austria, Ireland & Poland 41%
• Czech Republic & Slovenia 34%
• Denmark 36%
• Portugal 30%
• Israel 33%
• Belgium 41%
• Greece 35%
• Hungary 55%

I am from Nepal, living in Beijing now. I have been closely following most of the strings in this forum as I have made up my mind to take a job in Wroclaw. Sometimes I get scared after reading what people are writing here because I am moving with my wife and a 2 years old son. I am used to all sort of unwelcome staring on street and strange behaviours by locals in Beijing. What I wonder is if there is any physical danger at all. I have recently talked about moving to Poland with an English friend here, she said quite frankly that "Polish people have reputation of being very kind." And I don't understand people talking about Poles or Brits or whoever are racists after they had one bad encounter. I would be grateful if anyone could give me some suggestions on living in Wroclaw or Poland as a whole. Thanks all.

My Husband is Polish but we're currently living in the U.S. We are thinking to move to Poland on Spring 2008 cause Piotrek (my hubby) is sick tired of the Asians and Blacks who are living in the U.S. among our White Society and so are All the Poles we know from our State... If Your Skin Colour is very dark i can assure you that you ' ll get DOUBLE of what you're getting right now in Beijing... Just go for a couple of days as a tourist and you'll see what i mean ;) and as for the Poles.... YES ! They are really Very Polite !!!

Can I ask, what the feck you base that assumption on????

Because, from where i am sitting, in the UK, as an English bloke, it doesn't look remotely true. Yes, we have fuckwits turning up on here who are anti-immigrant, but most UK citizens are here to learn about a different culture or are romantically involved with someone..

Have you ever seen the amount of integration in the UK? It makes the US look lame....

Hey Buddy, How r u ? Don't get me wrong... The Brits are very nice people.... ****** up when they drink and while on holidays abroad..... But they can surely have a Class WHEN they want ! I 've been to Britain several times and i have Brit friends in London and Luton... well... It's true that most Brits are Racists against Indians, Pakistani etc. But they don't show it in front of them ;) That's the Good thing about the English ! It's Not a coincidence that James Bond was English ;) LOL

I really can't get my head around the nonesense i just read^^^^

The Brits are very nice people.... ****** up when they drink and while on holidays abroad

And who isn't in that scenario?

I think the anti-immigration movement in UK is due to the fact there are over 60 million people on that lil island-seems a bit full doesn't it? C'mon that's a ridiculous number of people to be in that lil island.

In regards to the thread title, I've met many Poles in Poland and the UK who are racist, why would we even be debating that there is some magical race or culture out there that holds no racist beliefs. We're all equal, but we're also different. Accept that all people instinctively pick up on this.

- From my own direct experience, they are among the most tolerant peoples in Europe.

I think the anti-immigration movement in UK

I've met many Poles in Poland and the UK who are racist,

- What a nice difference in terminology - when it comes to UK, you call it 'the anti-immigration movement,;' when it comes to Poland, you call it 'many Poles ...who are racist.'
