I mean.. is not that i will not buy insurance after it expired.

Most likely inspector will not speculate about that. He/she will ask for an insurance valid for the whole period for which the residence permit will be issued.

But shouldn't they see the date when it is submitted?

They will, but they don't care.

It is very strange..if they have this law.. why they gave us National Visa for me and my family in the first place?

PhD students qualify as scientists, I guess. In this case you must apply for residence permit for the purpose of conducting scientific research, so that your family qualifies for karta pobytu.

@dovla He/she will ask for an insurance valid for the whole period for which the residence permit will be issued.

ok.. how can i know the period of the residence permit will be issued?
I've heard it can be one year, maximum three year.

But i think normally every private insurance will provide annual (one year) coverage.
but pay monthly.

so.. the regulation is so complicated and they didn't update the information in their website thoroughly.
I just arrive in Poland, but i hope they will reform their administration shortly in the future.

All foreigner that I've met so far are/were struggling with this Karta Pobytu.
So much time wasted.

n this case you must apply for residence permit for the purpose of conducting scientific research, so that your family qualifies for karta pobytu.

I see your point.
So my option in the application form will be either one of these:
number 5: undertaking or continuation of full time studies or doctoral studies
number 6: conducting research or development.

suppose i'm qualify for both options.
Supporting documents mentioned my status as doctoral students and i have contract with Foundation of Polish Science for the scholarship.
of course my job is doing research. But i can't choose both.
Although i feel really strange: if choose no. 5 my family have problem, if i choose no. 6 my family should be ok.
As you suggest i'll try to find person who really understand Polish Law about this.

Thank you for your help. It has been long discussion. I really appreciate it.

Could you share me a little bit of your experience?
When you bring your family to Poland, did you all came together in the same time? or your family follow you after some time you stayed in Poland?

and what is your status when you apply karta pobytu for your family?
were you employed person in that time?

Thank you.

Permanent Residence in Poland - timing of registration process

When my current card expires in November 2019, I will be eligible for permanent residence. How far in advance can I start the registration process before November 2019. Thanks

You cannot start the process in advance: you must be eligible for it on the day when you submit the application for permanent residence. But if you wait until November, you will be without card for many months until you get the permanent one. Therefore, it would be smart to apply for another temporary card asap (asap because you won't be able to submit a new application in November if that one is still pending).

How long does it take to process an application for residents permit

Does anyone here have experience about this? I put in an application about three months ago and I still haven't heard from them. Calls to their office are being cut off after being put on hold for 30 mins.

How long does it take to get the plastic card after you have received a positive decision? Is there a way to expedite it? It's been 4 weeks for me now.
