in proper English. two -the guitar!

Actually I wouldn't use the article...

A: How are things goin'?
B: Guitar. (okay, can't complain)

I was told a few years ago about students using 'kot' in a similar way but expressing stronger approval. But I haven't actually heard it....

A: How was the concert?
B: Kot! (great!)

Yes, exactly! Do you know where it originates from??? :):):)

the article...

Exactly!

Do you know where it originates from??? :):)

No idea... unless it's a variation of 'git'....

unless it's a variation of 'git'.

Wow, a clever suggestion which I must bear in mind but it isn`t the background for guitar idiom.

Think of guitar`s function. What is it???

a new one before I forget - what is judas and why???

what is judas and why???

A spyhole/peephole in a door.

You want to know why it is a peephole?
OP pawian  221 | 25151

yes! peephole.

why it is a peephole?

I want to know why it is called judas. :):):)

judas

Fairly obvious really...

Here's one. What's a "spider" and what very specific form of Polish does the term come from?
Feniks  1 | 545

Judas Iscariot spying on Jesus?

Fairly obvious really..

We don`t believe you. :):):) You say so to cover your ignorance, like with the previous riddle in another thread. We still remember that brawl you started about certain leek. :):):)

Judas Iscariot spying on Jesus?

No, we are talking about judas, not Judas. :):):)

We don`t believe you

Tough.

Now what about the spider...
Feniks  1 | 545
30 Apr 2024   #1632
we are talking about judas

I can only think of a false and insincere person

What's a "spider"

A chandelier?

I can only think of a false and insincere person

Hmmmm, that`s Judas spelled with capital J. While we are trying to establish why a door peephole was called judas spelled with small j. :):):)
OP pawian  221 | 25151

Now what about the spider..

I don`t know yet. Nothing comes to my mind. :):):)

You see?? I am strong enough to admit that I have no idea. I am like Fenix now, our role model for guessing. Learn this attitude from us both instead of starting brawls about riddles which you can`t solve., :):):)
OP pawian  221 | 25151
30 Apr 2024   #1635
why a door peephole was called judas spelled with small j.

There was a good reason for that.
Hint - think what the function of the judas peephole is!!!

hey, it reminds me the previous question:

Think of guitar`s function. What is it???

:):):):)
Feniks  1 | 545
30 Apr 2024   #1636
The function of both is obvious but I don't know why the peephole is called judas.
OP pawian  221 | 25151

The function of both is obvious

Namely what of the guitar and peephole??? I am asking coz it is really important to digging out full idioms.
Feniks  1 | 545

The guitar produces sound and the peephole allows someone to see who is on the other side of the door without them seeing you.

A chandelier?

Something external.

The guitar produces sound

Which in standard English or Polish is called what activity exactly???

the peephole allows someone to see who is on the other side of the door

Exactly!! And what activity referring to Judas` actions is performed in result???????
jon357  73 | 23022
30 Apr 2024   #1641
And what activity referring to Judas` actions

As I say, it's obvious.

Think of the person's movement.
OP pawian  221 | 25151
30 Apr 2024   #1642
As I say, it's obvious.

No, it is not and you are still pretending you know while you don`t. Amassing games of yours!!! :):):)

Think of the person's movement.

What?????? :):):) You mean your wriggling or wiggling now??? :):):)
jon357  73 | 23022
30 Apr 2024   #1643
It's obvious.

I'll not give it away though.
OP pawian  221 | 25151
30 Apr 2024   #1644
I'll not give it away though

Yes, you won`t, like you didn`t give away that leer was leek in fact. :):):)
Amassing! Thanks, you made my day now. I can finally turn in. :):):)
Feniks  1 | 545
30 Apr 2024   #1645
what activity exactly???

Vibration? I'm not sure activity is the right word though.

what activity referring to Judas` actions

Spying? But I already said that in the definition.
jon357  73 | 23022
30 Apr 2024   #1646
leer was leek

It wasnt.

And I'll make your day again: we also call those door peepholes Judas Holes in English too :-)

Amassing.....
OP pawian  221 | 25151
30 Apr 2024   #1647
I'm not sure activity is the right word though.

OK, let`s end this torture. :):): The activity which is performed on the guitar is playing it. The function of the guitar is playing music.

The full idiom meaning that sth is fully OK is the guitar plays/is playing!

Now, I wouldn`t be myself if I didn`t develop it into a subriddle! hahaha

How did the idiom come into being ????

Hint - it goes back to the second half of 20th century.

we also call those door peepholes Judas Holes in English too

Hmmmmm......... Fenix said nothing about it and she holds the priority for such opinions as a decent Brit here.

Amassing.....

Exactly!!!!

It wasnt.

I beseech you - show more dignity. :):):)
Feniks  1 | 545
30 Apr 2024   #1648
he activity which is performed on the guitar is playing it.

I wasn't thinking along those lines, I was thinking how sound is produced.

How did the idiom come into being ????

I'm too tired to do this now......

Still don't get the judas thing.

Something external.

Is it a high-wheeled carriage?

Fenix said nothing about it and she holds the priority for such opinions

I don't know everything!
OP pawian  221 | 25151
30 Apr 2024   #1649
Spying? But I already said that in the definition.

No, it isn`t spying!!! It is betraying!!!!!! ):):) Judas peephole sort of betrays to you the person standing in front of the door.
jon357  73 | 23022
30 Apr 2024   #1650
Is it a high-wheeled carriage?

Something fixed to something. Can sort of resemble a spider. A clue is that the term originates in a very non-standard form of Polish that has its own name for things. Including another name for a door peeohole, not Judas...

Hmmmmm
