Exactly!! Non- Polish posters are fascinated with dupa topics. I am also amasssssed. :):):)
You just evoked another dupa phrase which might become our next riddle: to talk about Marynia`s ass.

to talk about Marynia`s ass.

To talk about something irrelevant or trivial.

Yes, exactly, but that was a trivial riddle. :):):) The one about an enlarged ass is still pending..... :):):):)

A hint: think in Middle Agean terms - who got their ass enlarged then?
Another hint: recall One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, a Soviet Russian gulag short story - who has an enlarged ass in it???

Probably still not right but someone has become tougher, harder, stronger?

has become stronger?

This is a bit closer. How do people become stronger??? Get back to prehistory and cavemen and cavewomen times for a hint.

@Feniks

Sorry, no.
The last hint: I last heard this expression in 1990s from a colleague of mine who used to drive FIAT cars (very popular in communist Poland before) and ran an amateur garage. He was always besieged by FIAT owners, mostly young ones, who met at the garage to repair their cars, share their experiences or simply socialise. Mark was always extremely helpful and ready to offer expertise assistance to them. However, one day he needed help himself and called one of his young mates who, surprisingly, refused. Mark commented: He knew nothing, I taught him everything. His ass has grown and he doesn`t need me anymore.

I sort of know what you're trying to get at but I can't put it into words. The guy has all the knowledge and Mark has now outlived his usefulness I'm finding the clues too confusing.

I am trying to get across that grown ass means you have become very big-headed after gaining self confidence and the feeling of importance which you lacked before.

The origin of the phrase is very simple. - in the past, most people used to be slim with small asses coz they fed on low calorie food. The rich ones could afford better food, especially fatty meat so they were overweight with big asses. How did they feel about themselves? Self confident top dogs full of themselves, of course. :):):)

OK, I get that from the mechanic situation. I was getting confused with trying to link Ivan Denisovich with prehistoric cavemen. Lol. Fed up with asses now!

The reason for linking them is very simple. Gulag prisoners, most of them political, fight to get into the canteen but a few professional bandits, called urkas, defend the entrance and push dozens of politicals away. Ivan explains that urkas who took control of the canteen and its supply system, feed on meat which they steal, so they are strong and well built.

As for cavemen or primordial apemen and apewomen, do you know what happened when they started consuming meat on a large scale??? Their brains as well asses grew bigger! How did they feel then?? Like big headed Lords of the Jungle! HA!!! hahahaha

Fed up with asses now!

Me too coz I can`t think of any new idiom pertaining to them. :):):)
