Russian media (...) Russia to exert its influence through finance (...) Russian to offer passports or other benefits

If the EU/USA can come with their media there, "exert financial influence" and offer EU passports and other benefits, then why not. We'll see what the people will choose. :)

Again, you probably haven't thought this through.

Hardly. In the twin thread I proposed fair, internationally supervised referenda in the contested territories.

@Bobko

Ad.1 They never posed any credible threat to Russia
Ad.2 Were they about to join NATO anytime soon?
Ad.3 They agreed to that already and even gave up the nukes they had (for safety guarantees)
Ad.4 As far as I know, there is no hostility on the EU part towards EEU and Ukraine was dealing with both.

As you can see, Ukraine met most of your surrender conditions even before you attacked them. :)

Ad.6 sounds obvious in peace time after the status of the territory is agreed (if it's not agreed, then why should
Ukraine worry about a foreign country's city water supply?)
Ad.7 There would be no need for any compensation on any side if it wasn't for this war.

Are you sure you thought this through, Bobi?

gorilla troops

We already have pawian troops, so that's covered.

Anyways, I have only just realised that Poland is not punished enough in the above points for her support to Ukraine, so...

8) Poland gives Silesia, Pomerania and Lebuser Land to Germany; Kladská Kotlina and Polish part of Těšínské Slezsko to Czechia, and Warsaw is divided into Russian, Chinese, Iranian and North Korean occupational zones.

9) Poland admits that Copernicus was German, Chopin French and that it was Russians who first invented vodka (and to really rub it in, that it was actually the French who taught us how to eat with knife and fork).

Hopefully, the Poland/West haters here will come up with more brilliant ideas.

I'm curious, if the members of PF can lay out their expectations of what Ukraine is to do if it loses this war. It would be good for Ukrainians to prepare for this type of eventuality.

I will sketch out some general parameters for you to debate:

1) Ukrainian army surrenders to invincible Russian forces.
2) Ukraine acknowledges and eternally confirms Russian control over Crimea.
3) Ukraine cedes occupied territories of Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporozhye, and Kherson oblasts to Russia.
4) Ukraine pays Russia all the cost of conducting the Special Military Operation, plus then some.
5) NATO is dissolved and all American forces must leave Europe.
6) Russia keeps its Security Council veto, and India and Brazil replace the USA and the United Kingdom as permanent security council members.
7) Russia is allowed to create military bases in Vilnius, Warsaw, Prague and Berlin.

Off-Topic / Terms of Russian Surrender [116]

Whilst all the 7 points sound absolutely brilliant, they don't really solve the problem.

Russia after implementing points 1-7 would be humiliated, defeated and boiling with desire for revenge. Kind of like Weimar Republic on steroids (and Weimar Republics on steroids tend to turn into Third Reichs on steroids).

The solution - if it is to be permanent and fair - would have to encompass both Russia and Ukraine. So, I'd say:

1. Immediate cease fire followed by honest, internationally supervised referenda in Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk. Permanent border treaty according to the outcome of the referenda.
2. Russia, as the aggressor, would have to pay some reparations.
3. Deep and thorough desovietisation and debanderisation in Russia and Ukraine. Soviet/communist and nazi/banderists symbols and ideologies would be outlawed, as they are both criminal, led to countless atrocities and should be allowed to die in shame in the garbage dump of history. All the politicians who supported either communist or banderist ideologies would be indefinitely deprived of the right to hold any office. All the Soviet and Banderist monuments are to be razed; stadiums, streets and squares renamed.

4. Królewiec would have to go back to Poland or be independent, not to become a source of conflict in the future.
5. Ukraine would become neutral and have its neutrality guaranteed by NATO and China.
6. Bilateral deep cooperation deals in economy, industry, science, education, medicine etc. would be signed between the EU and Russia making it extremely difficult (and extremely unprofitable) to go to war.

7. Firstborn sons of all the main EU politicians would be raised and study in Russia and vice versa. In case of war they would be beheaded.

OK, maybe I got a bit carried away with point 7 but you get my drift. Be strict, be fair, clean up history, make future war impossible - that's my idea.

News / When will the GDP of Poland be higher than Udmurtians? [5]

I wouldn't be so sure. The EU Fit for 55 program will hit us hard: Poland has the most expensive electricity in the entire EU at the moment and the cost of emissions (ETS) is likely to become even more burdensome for us (ETS 2 will also include houses, blocks of flats and private means of transport), and increase even more the prices of electricity, heating, hot water and transportation. All this will be a huge burden on Polish economy. Of course, in a situation where neither the USA nor China, nor India, nor South America, nor Japan, South East Asia... well, nowhere else in the world really is going to introduce such severe limitations on economic growth, all this eco-craziness doesn't make any sense (polluted air is not going to stop on the EU border and the temperatures will not stop rising with 95% of emissions still there, without any limitations). It will, however, put rich and developed EU countries in an even more privileged position compared to those who have to catch up on economic development.

A lot of smaller businesses (most particularly bakeries) have already gone bankrupt because of exorbitant energy prices; when Ff55 kicks in it will be the turn for transport companies (one of Poland's economy's flywheels) to be closed.

PiS would win the elections, but wouldn't have a majority in the Parliament, probably even if it formed a coalition with Konfederacja:

That's what I've just told BB. We will have a democratic coalition government in Autumn. Can't wait :)

What do you mean by that?

Exactly what I said. Church needs to have "their man" in the government, in case PiS loses (and they will), so Hołownia is their choice. It will become evident at one point or another. You can quote me on that.

I know that you pro-EU PO voters

I am pro-EU but I'm not a PO voter. I prefer PSL - a commonsensical peasant party, socially conservative but democratic and pro-European. Too bad they allied themselves to Hołownia but I suppose electoral mathematics was the decisive factor here.

And rainbow is an ancient symbol of covenant between God and His people. As a Christian you should know this, Crno. Or maybe - considering your anti-semitic rants - you are not a Christian at all but a regular neo-nazi?

Is that your granma in the video?

CPAC Hungary 2023 - Terry Schilling

"We don't want your brain chips!" :D What a nutjob.

As for Orban, he's a greedy, power-hungry opportunist, who plays on people's fears and insecurities just to stay in power. PiS has cured me efficiently from any sympathy towards this kind of politicians: hypocrites pretending to be Christian while doing all kinds of iniquities and still remaining self-righteous and full of hatred and contempt. Give me an openly godless leftist anytime before those two-faced hypocrites; at least an openly godless leftist is an enemy who approaches me face-to-face while those "godly" villains are quite happy to lie, cheat and backstab. And one thing that I will never forgive PiS is how they prostituted the Church with taxpayers' money. Completely and utterly despicable. They have succeeded where the communists have failed: they managed to push millions of Poles away from the Church.

As I said - give me an openly godless, rainbow-colours-wearing, dick-on-parade-waving, transsexual lesbian leftist anytime, he (she?) is not a threat to me at all. On the other hand, the wolves pretending to be sheep, while destroying the Church and the country from the inside for their own greed and lust for power - they are truly dangerous and THEY are the worst enemy.

Are you willing to put your money

I don't gamble as a rule. It's one of many admirable traits of my righteous character. But EVEN IF I were a gambler, then still - gambling about the future of my country with some random Australian would be below my dignity.

3. Considerable amount of butthurt among PiS supporters.

What a brilliant prediction it was - already coming true as we can see. :D

28.P.S.K in Lodz in 1934-36

Wow! A rather famous unit! 28 Pułk Strzelców Kaniowskich (28th Kaniowski Rifle Regiment).

They were formed in Volyn in 1919 and fought against Ukrainians, against Czechs in Cieszyn Silesia and then, of course, against Soviets in the Battle of Warsaw. In the interwar period it was stationed in Łódź as a part of 10th Infantry Division.

pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/28_Pu%C5%82k_Strzelc%C3%B3w_Kaniowskich

There is even a historical reconstruction group for the unit. Here's their Facebook page...

facebook.com/kaniowscy/

... there's a lot of photos, maps and other information. Try to contact them for further details of anything related to 28. PSK.

Hołownia--I hear this guy's name a lot. What's he about?

Nobody really knows. The guy looks emotionally unstable and still refuses to reveal the sources of funds for his presidential campaign. I think he's the Catholic Church's man in case opposition wins the election.

They are trying to find some sort of balance between their conservative and liberal supporters but failing rather miserably. They alienate their conservative voter base by supporting abortion on demand up to the 12th week of pregnancy and at the same time alienate the economic liberals by trying to outbid PiS in social benefits promises (800+ starting from June, babciowe etc.).

The only reason they stand a good chance of winning is that people are getting tired of the arrogance and nepotism in PiS, as well as of constant conflict with the EU that is costing Poland billions of euro, and want things to change. The exorbitant inflation is not helping PiS either.

KO is PO plus a couple of smaller parties and P2050 is Hołownia's party (in coalition with PSL).

Apart from that there is PiS, Lewica and Konfederacja. Any other party is nothing more than political plankton.

they occupy and control disproportionally more positions in media and banking

Wow! They must be a really smart nation then. They also have disproportionate number of doctors, lawyers, Nobel prize winners and scientific discoveries. Perhaps imitating them, instead of hating, might be a good idea?

As far as I know, nobody is forcing anyone to spend their lives drinking cheap beer and mindlessly gazing into a TV screen. People should study, work hard, be diligent, disciplined and thrifty, and go into banking, science, medicine, law, engineering or media, if they want. Jews do it, so can everyone else. But I realise that it's easier to sit on the couch and hate - typical for Polish anti-semites as well.

Life / In need of good Polish jokes about Polish culture, people, etc [226]

In what context?

Oh, you know - whenever people find out that I support Israel in their conflict with palestinian Arabs or when I say something critical about the Church (of which I am a practising member); or when people think that I am doing "too well" in life (you know, the old Polish "na bank ma jakieś układy", "pewnie Żyd" etc.). :)

in today's Poland, origin does not play any role

For a mensch, it doesn't. For schmucks, it sometimes does. Hence my method. :)

Thank you, Lyzko. I absolutely love it when people suspect me of Jewish roots. When it happens in the real life I neither openly deny nor confirm it but I try to strengthen their suspicion and watch their reaction. Great fun. It is my way of sifting out idiots and checking who's a mensch and who's a schmuck. Works like a charm - I highly recommend it.

With all that material C3 gave you to rip apart, that's your response?

Yes, that's exactly my response. Especially that in his very first post he draws from a book by an anti-semite and Holocaust denier, Eustace Mullins. After what happened in Europe during WW2 I have no time for lengthy debates with anti-semitic sickf*cks - I just call a spade a spade.

It is, however, quite interesting how often putinists or Putin sympathisers are also rabid anti-semites. Quite interesting indeed.

News / Polish Parliamentary Elections 2023 [933]

This Autumn Poles will elect members of the Sejm and Senate. The elections will be very important for the future of our country as they will decide whether Poland will move towards greater integration with European structures (in case of the current opposition's victory) or towards Orbanism/Lukashenkism quasi-dictatorial system (if - God forbids - PiS wins the elections again).

In my beloved Gdańsk and Pomorze PiS never won any elections, which - I admit - gives me certain measure of pride and satisfaction...

kaplica królewska

... hopefully in Autumn more cities and regions will follow our lead. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

I predict:

1. Victory of the opposition parties.
2. Forming of KO-PSL-P2050 ruling coalition.
3. Considerable amount of butthurt among PiS supporters.
