News / Austria's swing to the far right on Poland? [214]

@Harry

The mental gymnastics required to hold positions like yours, obfuscate, conflate, and parse words has to be literally exhausting. The cognitive dissonance is on a level that is almost incomprehensible to me. You literally avoid responding to points that don't reaffirm your narrow world view. I am at least open minded enough to discuss contrary ideas, your tactic is just to browbeat people and condescend. It's a typical tactic from holier than thou left wing Brits living abroad, I'm well familiar with your kind.

See that part there where I admitted I was wrong regarding the asylum laws, that's called personal responsibility, real men admit when they're wrong. Rather than a willful and negligent lie, I regard that was being misinformed, on my part. I think we'll all be waiting a very long time before we'd see you make such a concession.

So that is a no to comparing resume's or pay stubs?

@Harry

You are making a false equivalency that is actually quite infuriating. Yes, you can point to the terrible things written in the bible, but the fact is that Christianity had a reformation 400 years ago, and we've decided to dispense with most of the really ugly parts. Yes, you can still find pockets of ideological resistance if you really try. Just off the top of my head regarding US terror attacks, we've had people from Uzbekistan, Dagestan(Russia), and several Middle Eastern and GCC countries specifically.

Honestly, how many Muslims have you spoken to directly about this? I work side by side with them every single day. They will all tell you that 1. violent jihad is part and parcel of the religion, and 2.Islam is different because Mohammad(pbuh) had to run a state, whereas Jesus did not. So the real point is that they do not just view it as a religion, but they also view it as integral to politics. The disdain for secularism here is extremely strong and palpable.

Yes of course, you need to blame the reactions on 'uneducated scumbags,' like we're to believe that 63 million people in America who voted for Trump are all redneck hillbillys, smoking Newports, bangin their cousins, and doing meth. You can continue to have an uninformed opinion like this, but if you ever want your side to win another friggin election, you might want to actually LISTEN to the people on the other side of the aisle and what they have to say. I am actually a centrist in most aspects of politics, but the things your side says literally push some of my views to the right.

I believe in decriminalizing all drugs, criminal justice reform, the freedom to marry whoever you want, a woman's right to choose, etc. You find it convenient to label people and put them into a box, well you're not going to do that with me. You also are never going to change anyone's opinion 1. by calling them some buzzword label like bigot or racist (and often times it is unwarranted), and 2. speaking down to people whose opinion you disagree with.

Finally, because you're unable to engage in debate and spirited discussion without trying to make things personal, I'll compare CV's and pay stubs with you any day Harry. Maybe you can fix my 10 speed for me.

@Harry

You're joking right Harry? My views are not bigoted or racist, especially not racist. Your assertions do not make it so. It is YOUR views which have led to the rise of the far-right in Europe, and YOUR views are responsible for getting an ass clown like Donald Trump elected. What do you think will happen when you continually label anyone who disagrees with your dogmatic neo-liberalism as "racists" "bigots" "islamophobes" "xenophobes" "nazis" "white supremacists".

I suppose your side does not expect ANY push back to policies of open borders, cultural dismantlement, 31 genders, and policing our speech. Your side wants to criminalize my disagreement with being co-opted into another persons mental illness, requiring me to use the gender pronoun they tell me to use. Your side wants people fired from their jobs for voicing legitimate and valid criticisms of particular ideologies which are detrimental and toxic Europe and the west, ideological viewpoints which have caused ACTUAL harm (i.e.- rapes in Germany and Sweden), not the imagined harm that you think people on the right are doing. So please, spare me your BuzzFeed talking points.

Law / Work permit + national visa in Poland for India citizen [91]

Yea, you seem to have some insight on this region. The typical work day for most people in GCC countries is 0600-1100, maybe 1200. Any job where manual labor is concerned is completely out. Interestingly enough one of the most common jobs for these people is cashier, which to us in the west is seen as a low skilled entry level job, however here it is reserved ONLY for citizens.

News / Austria's swing to the far right on Poland? [214]

@Harry

You are free to believe that if you want to be dishonest. 7th century barbarians aren't a race at all, that ideology dissects multiple races of people, it is purely to do with culture, values, and ideals. That is not in the slightest racist what so ever.

Second point. Because I've not taken the time to thoroughly research the laws on refugee/asylum status really doesn't prove I'm uneducated, just rather uninterested in knowing the particulars of policies which don't effect me, and with which I probably disagree anyway. However, I will concede to you Harry, uninformed would be a better characterization on that topic.

Third point, I've lived in several countries, and I speak three languages. I have a deep appreciation and love for Polish and Ukrainian culture. I have quite an affinity for the South Koreans also. Just because you're unwilling to engage in legitimate criticisms of culture's which hate homosexuals, denigrate women, and despise human rights does not make me uncultured, it makes you naive and obtuse.

@Harry

I don't work IN my home country, but I do work FOR my home country, I just happen to be domiciled in another country. Additionally, my country is pretty well off having the highest 2nd highest GDP in the world and all, so I don't need to stay there to make it better. The country I'll choose to emigrate to will have a similar CULTURE to my own, and similar VALUES to my own.

@Harry

Lol.....Ohhhhhhhhhhhh Harry. It must be nice to live in a world where you can denigrate the people providing a national defense and the right to spew that garbage that you do. I work for the US government at the behest of the host nations. Until last year I worked in Ukraine, are you calling Poroshenko a vile dictator? I lived there during the election, and it was judged to be free and fair buddy.

Yea you conveniently left out the "and other professionals," part, of which skilled logisticians probably count towards that! Quite to the contrary of what you just said, I'm of European descent, and American culture has the same values that other European nations do. You would LOVE to make this about 'skin color,' because it fits your racist narrative, but alas, it isn't. It has absolutely nothing to do with skin color, and everything to do with culture. For instance, I feel quite the same way about Russians as I do about people from North Africa and the M.E.

I know this is hard for you, because you want to put me into some sort of box, as the people on the left are used to doing. You can't call me a racist, thats frustrating. You can't call me uneducated, thats frustrating. You can't call me uncultured, that's frustrating. Damn, looks like you will have to refute my points on their merits instead of trying to make this about me, personally.

P.S.- I almost forgot. Regarding the immigration law, you're right and I was wrong. I still feel the same way though, obviously.

@cms

According to international law, they are to seek refuge in the FIRST SAFE COUNTRY that they reach. Now, if you want to go through the proper channels to change international law, then ok, but until then there is no case to be made for any of these people to be resettled in any other European countries. Yes, since my family is from Europe, and my fiance is Polish, I do feel the need to advocate for keeping the cultural integrity of Europe in one piece. I'm not some blowhard in America with an NRA t-shirt talking out of my ass, I live in the middle east.

You can want to do your positive Christian outreach all you want, it's not going to be appreciated by savages who are really only interested in what they can take from the west, as far as raping, killing, and thievery. If we were only accepting MDs,JDs,PhDs, and other professionals I really wouldn't have an issue. However, immigration is supposed to be merit based, so unskilled workers really add nothing to European society, these people are incompatible with our way of life, full stop mate.

@Roger5

Yes, the fail safe way is a wholesale ban on all of them, and then we will make extraordinary exceptions for highly skilled and qualified immigrants plus their families.

50 Euro per head per day? Who cares if its 0.0000005 Euro per head per day. You people cheering on the cultural destruction of your own countries and western liberal values in general make me absolutely sick! Here is a hint for you, you might think of yourself as an "ally," and that you'll be rewarded for your tremendous virtue, but you won't. We have seen the radical leftists eat their own time and time again, and god forbid the savages and barbarians you people advocate importing to the west EVER gain power, you will be on the chopping block the same as the people who resisted their migration.

These North African and M.E. cultures are barbaric, and the people who come from there are savages. We are having this debate over the travel ban in the United States. Of course, not all or even a large percentage of people coming from those countries are radical. However, if even 1 in 10,000 immigrants from those regions are radicals, that is a number too high. I don't care that some 20 yr old Syrian falafel maker can't follow his American dream. NO ONE HAS A RIGHT TO COME TO AMERICA. We care about American CITIZENS first, and we will give accommodation to people wishing to become Americans, somewhere about 7th or 92nd down that list of concerns. We HAVE to deal with the crime from American citizens, but we are NOT required to take even a 1% chance on foreigners who want to kill us. **** off.

I saw in an earlier page something I must address. Would you all give this "military-industrial complex" nonsense a frigging rest. Where is your tinfoil hat? I work for the "military-industrial complex," we are training an ally countries army to defend itself and its territorial integrity. Everyday that I go to work, no one dies, no one is murdering little babies. Despite what you want to believe, EVERY country on Earth has the RIGHT to a national defense. You happen to be fortunate enough to live in a STABLE country where the idea of open conflicts is a relatively minute possibility. Large swaths of the world are not so lucky, and those who can afford it pay for US military doctrine based training, because it's the best. No one I work with is evil and plotting the next genocide, we all get up and go to work, and do our jobs, and form a bond with our host nation soldiers.

The far-right winning elections in Europe is a direct result (causative) of the lefts immigration policies, open borders, and general disregard bordering on DISDAIN for their own citizens. Europe for the Europeans!

UK, Ireland / Polish career criminal gets six years for rape [43]

However I think the rights of humans not to be murdered, maimed, raped and violated, especially children, should take precedence over the rights of sex offenders.

And here is the crux of it. While it might make people feel like super-humanitarians to offer counseling, CBT, and other forms of behavior modification to these people, someone who forcibly rapes another human being is not fit to live among decent people in society. They are a threat, an existential danger, and their thinking is so far removed from normal citizens, I don't think that society should be asked to take the RISK of allowing them back into our society. Of course, I understand why we don't have the death penalty or life sentences for rapists, as some studies indicate doing so would leave little incentive for a sex offender to leave the victim alive afterwards. We know penalties do not deter people who are willing to commit such a horrendous act of violence and depravity, so I'm not sure where the line is for punishment, but certainly upward of 20 years is warranted in every single case. It is a cruel joke of the American justice system in particular that someone can be given 55 years for a plant, or for ingesting a substance into their OWN bodies, yet someone who commits a forcible felony can get a 3-10 year indeterminate sentence, often out in under 6.

@spiritus

But, but, but....my feelings! I don't care about facts only my feelings!

This is a dangerous way to run government, based on emotional knee jerks.

When Japan gets told they need 'cultural enrichment,' and they need to participate in the failed experiment of forced multiculturalism, then I'll see an argument for a country like Poland which never participated in African or Middle East colonialism to be told they should 'bare a burden.' As it stands now, the double standards are completely glaring, as it's ok for these nations to have homogeneous societies, but not for countries like Poland, Austria, Hungary, France, Germany, etc. Appalling and glaring double standard. Further to the point, I have nothing to feel guilty about, because some people 100 years ago that look sort of kinda like me did some stuff, does not mean that my own country has to be culturally and demographically destroyed just to make some left wing radical politicians feel better about themselves at night, while living behind their gated communities and armed security bubbles.

In fact you will find in most other countries, it is almost impossible to become a citizen. The current middle eastern country I'm working in right now, it is impossible to become a citizen even through marriage! But go on and tell me some more about the insensitive and brutal western countries.

And under international law, refugees are to take refuge in the first safe country they reach. Furthermore, all nationals who are not genuine refugees under international law, and who are migrating for economic purposes must and should be repatriated to their country of register at the earliest possible time.

@ErniJeden

So a few things...

1) What is your background? You're Polish who lived in America?

2) What were you imprisoned for?

3) Why would you not just want a girlfriend, period? What is the obsession with someone between 15-18? She is suddenly not appealing if she's 19? I don't get it, but I'd like to hear your rationale here.

I'm interested to hear your answers. I have to say from what you've written so far, you sound like a danger to society. You sound mentally unstable, and I'd urge you to seek some help in order to help yourself, and to keep society safe. I am sure, as you seem to have acknowledged, you know that you're a danger to the public good, and you should probably sort that out before you see yourself incarcerated for life.

I haven't heard one of you challenge the fact that Merkel unilaterally made this decision for the Eurozone, and then expected member states to 'bare the burden' once she realized how monumentally she F'd up. Regardless of whether you address it or not, all of this postulating means sod all because the FACTS ON THE GROUND are, Poland is NOT taking these people, no matter how much bellyaching the EU does. @rozumiemnic

As if the points in an argument somehow change if they're being delivered to someone who is not a US citizen. I find this to be the same sort of argument meant to shutdown discourse or facts that you don't agree with, when someone speaks about certain points on race relations, and then tells the person they can't comment because they're white and doesn't know what its like. The substance of the argument is the same regardless of who delivers it. So unless you are willing to address the points that were made, trying to obfuscate the argument in your favor by bringing up erroneous facts about the person delivering the message is quite telling.

PiS via their elected representatives, of the people. Logic would conclude that at least a sizable portion of Poles agree with their policy, lest they be voted out. That is a pretty standard conclusion in most representative democracies.

I didn't make a leap to say WHY they didn't want refugees, just that they don't, as evidenced by policy decisions. I would love to hear any evidence to the contrary about how Poles have made their decisions based on fear mongering and scare tactics. I'll be waiting for that evidence, apparently Atch can read minds and is insinuating that Poles are all stupid low information voters who don't know whats good for them, but no worries, unelected Ministers of European Parliament do, so everything will be ok.

I did caveat my statement by saying I am not entirely familiar with domestic UK policy. I'd like to know more, and of course am cheering them on to cut legal immigration in half, and stop allowing 3rd world savages to bring their entire family of barbarians to reside in the UK. Hopefully my country will follow suit, as I heard we plan to cut legal immigration in half, and end the endless train of illegal criminals flooding across our borders at rate of 1,500 per month.

Right, they are doing what countries do, looking out for their own interests first, before the interests of any supranational organization they are a member in. Hence why the EU as a political union is a failure, as a common economic market I think it's a great idea. International relations is predicated upon chaos, nations do what they can get away with, and they weight the benefits versus the consequences, so we will see.

Second point. What evidence do you have that Poles are making their decisions based on fear mongering and scare tactics? It sounds like you are making conclusions based on anecdotes or what you see on TV or perceive. Have you done a nationwide poll of Poles to determine how they are making their decisions? No, of course you haven't. In fact, saying that Poles are making their decisions based on fear mongering and scare tactics, is a very simple way to condescend to the Poles and basically tell them they don't know what they are talking about, but your enlightened friends on the left do. It is a tired argument, and it is honestly so offensive to an electorate to marginalize their opinions and self-determination. Don't miss an opportunity to virtue signal I suppose.

Please again. Where is your EVIDENCE they are making decisions based on fear mongering and scare tactics? EVIDENCE. You made the point, now you better support it with facts. We will all be waiting.

Ok, there may be no harm in having one. However, the Polish people have collectively decided that they don't want one, even if there is no harm. So I don't understand why you have an axe to grind on this with Poland? Do you feel somehow superior to Poles, and therefore just in dictating to them their own domestic policies? I'm trying to understand where you're coming from, because using the supranational EU as an example is a very poor argument. The Brits had a referendum on the EU, and you see how that turned out. Nigel Farage is one of the best politicians of our time, he speaks truth to power, and he is right that if they do not change their course, the UK will not be the last to leave!

You'd have been the first Irish person I met that was politically correct if you were! Lol... neither here nor there, but an Irish soldier I worked with from Galway had some crazy ideas about.......everything, such as the Jews and CIA created AIDS, and the Jew bankers were responsible for all of Irelands ills.

Anyway. I responded by telling you where I'm from because you literally said "i dont know where you're from."

Moving on. This isn't really some hypothetical situation. I would rather challenge you to point to one example inside the EU where LARGE numbers of refugees/migrants from North Africa&M.E. where a barbaric and savage culture exists, that has effectively integrated into any of our European societies and espoused liberal values?

You know its rather prophetic really, kind of follows the same path as their book. At first, when their numbers are small, they play that victim card as hard as they can, they are victims, everyone is an islamophobe or xenophobe. And in the UK's unending quest to appear tolerant, I could imagine a situation where two guys are about to toss a gay off a rooftop, an officer rolls up, and he says Ohh I'm sorry I have to respect your religion, carry on mates!

The thing is, once they reach a sufficient number, they are no longer victimized refugees and migrants. They start demanding their own courts, they start demanding YOU the HOST NATION, accommodate THEM!

We are as they say, at an impasse. We will defend western liberal values, we will defend what it means to be EUROPEAN. Here is a hint, no one named Sadiq Khan is a Briton. Whatever nonsense is scribbled in his passport is inconsequential to me, he will never be British.

@Tacitus

I want to respond to each of you when I have more time. I just want to say how disappointed I am to hear BOTH of you go straight to the FALSE EQUIVALENCY and point out a mass shooting in America. I'm surprised you didn't bring up Christian atrocities from 600 years ago and draw more false parallels between the two. You need to understand, it does not reduce your virtue or feel-good points to simply point out these particular cultures and their ideology have a REAL problem with violence and sexual assault, the problem often is the left conflates this observation and says that we said its "ALL." No one has ever said its ALL, but it is certainly an unhealthy number, whether its 25% or 80%, its far too much.

You are both SO DISMISSIVE about the deaths and rapes that have occurred in Europe, and that is my problem with your sentiment, that you have such a great deal of sympathy for these people from cultures which aren't yours, but you seemingly have no sympathy for the people whose lives have been irrevocably changed by these savages.

@Tacitus

Alright I'd really like it if we can dispense with the veiled nonsense here. Can you just tell me what your agenda is? What country are you from? and what are your politics?

I'm asking this because I really need to wrap my head around this position. It's hard for me to understand how someone can hold such disdain for their own people. How can you value other people over your own fellow countrymen and citizens? Look, the deal may have been agreed upon initially, but the point is that we've seen the results of accepting these people in Sweden, in Germany, in France, and now other countries have had a prizm into the future and are saying, ok we made that deal, but we are not going to put our citizens in danger. If your only argument to the contrary is "well you agreed to it!," you're going to have to come with a much stronger argument I think to convince anyone they should commit fratricide on their own country. Excuse me if I am wrong in my assumptions, but your posts sound like you are cheerleading the destruction of your own culture. Why in gods name would you ever take such a position? I'm not being rude, I genuinely want to understand why someone holds these views.

@Lyzko

Really? I mean I'll give you a ton of credit for having the balls to say something like. You admit they're difficult populations and then just kind of throw your hands up in the air and say "well they're difficult!"... The point is WE SHOULDN'T BE HAVING TO DEAL WITH THEM! Nations exist to protect CITIZENS first and foremost!!!

This is similar to the kind of things I see back in the U.S. when illegal immigrants get on CNN and start critiquing US immigration policy. These are people who HAVE NO RIGHTS under our US constitution. As an illegal immigrant you DONT GET A SAY IN OUR POLITICS, THAT IS ONLY FOR CITIZENS! The gaul it would take for me to go to a foreign country and then start MEDDLING in their politics and advocating for change to benefit MY position as a CRIMINAL. In any SANE non-cucked country, I would be deported before the damn segment ended.
