mafketis Have you tried the German or french A&E as a foreigner ( I have), you have to jump through hoops and fill a load of paperwork out before you get seen to.

In the UK you just walk in and get sorted full stop no questions, no bills cos u is a foreigner.

After care drugs are free you just sign a piece of paper saying you are eligible for free prescriptions, they don't check they just sort you out.

I found that I had to go out of my way to join in with the community when I moved to Poland 3 years ago, don't forget the people will find it hard to communicate and socialize with someone from abroad many poles are not used to it, especially in the sticks even today when I speak English to the wife in the supermarket everyone turns round and looks.

Your wife and her family should be helping you here, try finding your local community center, get involved and join in , fund raising, local voluntary fire brigade whatever... reach out as I did you might be surprised.

Its been a long time since the UK was in a position to rule itself. the house of commons has been all about rubber stamping outside policies for decades, a good earner for many uk politicians and no come back if things go wrong, because it is easy to blame the problems on the EU Bureaucrats.
