History / Association of Lovers of Lwów and Southeastern Kresy [27]

Good god delph " Ukrainian lands that used to form part of Kresy? I have, and it's not a pretty sight. People are friendly to Polish speakers"

This is something that I agree with you, I am impressed with your effort to understand Poland and it's historical connections bravo.

News / Poland's post-election political scene [4080]

What about the commies that siphoned and are still stealing cash from Poland especially those who moved abroad after the fall of communism, what should we do with them?, looks like all the traitors got away, with no liability !!!!

"Those educated under the communists don't know much about history" I can second that, the commies stole my land in the east, murdered half my family sent the rest to Siberia , but my family is back in Poland so we have bought old German land in Silesia.

The Germans are welcome to have this back as long as I get our farms back in the East.

History / Is 5th partition of Poland possible? What kind? How? When? [73]

"have yet another paid Kremlin troll on here, doesn't it?" I think you are being a bit harsh here delph, you may as well add me to the list just because I would rather have what was taken from me,

"presumably happy enough with their homes in Poland"
But reality says I will have to make do with what I have had to pay for in Silesia, but I would be happier in Pod Kamien.

Delph I know you are interested in that part of Polish History it is also part and my families history see below.

"depressed wreck that is most of L'viv." So what do you care delph, you have no connection you are just a wanabe pole and not doing very well at it , I thought for a moment you cared, L'viv as you call it was ./ is a beautiful city , even after the wanton destruction of Russia and Germany, Not everyone had the benefit of the marshal plan.

Whats your Problem do you hate the Ukrainians more than the Poles ? or do you have some other political agenda, or is it that it is your mission to wind up everyone on the internet as you have stated elsewhere?

Life / Swearing in front of children - is it normal in Polish society? [26]

Atch, "t's a cultural norm" It never was 50 years ago, if I used that word as a kid my father would stuff a bar of carbolic soap in my mouth, must be something that grew out of communist time, or the general slide / decay of social standards worldwide

But from experience It does seem to be the thickos who use it in every sentence , same as English speaking thickos that use the F word all the time.

Not good to swear in front of kids really, but nowadays some parents just don't seem to care if their own kids swear , they probably leave it for teachers to sort out in the classroom

The odd accidental F coming out in general conversations does happen, I have done it myself only to turn round and find a friends kid behind me, I just apologies ..

But those who use it in every sentence all the time at work and at home are thickos for sure.

"Poland has historically been, an ethnically and religiously diverse nation with people living in relative harmony. "

So true but so many either deny this historical fact or they do not want us to live harmonically but wish to maintain division of our natural allies ,with an intent to take control and make personal profits while proliferating division.

News / German government tells journalists how to badmouth Poland [42]

"Paid as per the instructions of the Polish government" you gota be joking , there was no marshal plan for Poland Unlike Germany, but who cares Poland is now thriving and "Getting there" faster than east Germany where billions of euros have been pumped in by the west German economy (Which benefited from the plan).

never mind Harold Poland is doing ok however hard you try to badmouth us on a daily basis.. you need to work harder to make some cash to move to a country where you are better suited, maybe the UK if they will have you back if you can afford the plane fare.

Herry "last couple of decades and have gained a knowledge of the country " Remember as the old saying goes ....

"Just because you live in a barn it does not make you a horse".

You would do well to move over to Germany it appears they are looking for people like you to badmouth Poland, I for one think you have set an excellent example of this here on PF, I am sure many here would give you written references to help get that dream job.

News / How will BREXIT affect the immigrants in UK and Poland. [1114]

In answer to the question "How will Brexit affect UK immigrants in Poland? hopefully they will be booted out after five years if they do not pass the Polish citizenship test.

I guess the same may apply to poles in Britain, but most poles already in Britain will pass the requirements without issue.

I don't think the same could be said for Brit expats in Poland, some of them say they have been here twenty years but they cannot string a sentence of Polish together no B1 pass for them.

"I kindly suggest you go for a walk down your lane to lighten your mood"

Sorry doug but when there are hypocrites here on pf (And I am not referring to you because you make your thoughts and standpoint clear).

There are those who pretend to be Polish and defenders of Polish democracy but have not taken steps to become citizens, they might as well go home upon Brexit.

Pweeg "You are British, aren't you?"

As I was told many a time when I lived in England,

"Just because I was born in a stable it doesn't make me a horse"

The same is true for foreigners and migrants in Poland.

Just because I was given citizenship at birth does not make me British,

I am not a animal that some farmer can stamp his mark on and consider me as their property.

"I believe some Brits think they can have their cake and eat it," This is very true throughout British history.

In the past they just used to steal the cake and call it a British colony, this mentality prevails to this day. (Rule Britannia )

Harry 'there are no good restaurants here, etc etc." there you go harry adding things I have never said. There are plenty good Polish restaurants serving great Polish food.

ps I never had any good pierogi in restaurants in the uk either.

Anyway what has the above got to do with Brexit STAY on topic, post your adhom trolling in random

Poland may well introduce a points system for foreigners who wish to work in Poland, this Idea has been proposed within the UK.

Foreigners may well need to prove that a their job could not be undertaken by a polish person to qualify for a Polish work permit.

The reverse would be true for poles in the UK but it can be easily proved that many in the UK would rather stay on the generous benefits system rather than do many of the jobs that poles do in the UK.

" It ****** me off to hear people repeating that mealy mouthed lie.", 10 to a room! Any proof , source.

From personal experience I have had the following comment when trying to employ local people in the uk ,"Too hot and dirty to work in the foundry for 7.50 per hour" so of course you open the job opportunity to economic migrants that are willing to take the work on.

Poles don't have a problem supporting their family on this wage, If you ever fly to the UK you will see plenty of children travelling with their parents.

The question is , on Brexit where will Britain get its key workers from in the future, who who will take care of the old people and pick crops while on minimum wage ?, It's hard work for sure.

News / Poland -- Europe's only counterweight to Russia [271]

" no territorial ambition for Lwow " this is true , bt it does look as if the Ukraine will be partitioned in the east.

Now if all the Nazi lunatics move east there just maybe the opportunity for the Ukraine to become part of greater Poland still retaining its Parliament laws and governing structure , a bit like the relationship of Scotland and England, this would bring western Ukraine into the EU.

Bit of a long shot I know, but I do think there would be benefits for both Poland and the Ukraine, allot depends on Brexit, there would be a good deal of EU funding required.

Interestig artice Jon "To build a permanent new base ... you're just adding one item to your adversary's target list" correct it would only be making a token political statement of which Russia would take no notice of.

Now a Home army or Militia made up of trained citizens who are armed on a permanent basis would be a deterrent to any invader, they may invade but they would not be able to sit on their laurels while they are being shot at and being blown up by an IDE at every street corner by a large group of properly armed Guerrillas look at Afganistan, many an invader has tried to conquer them but have ended up running away with their tails between their legs.

"though fraught with risks." Quite right Jon but remember the Warsaw uprising, some future invader would do well not to underestimate the will of the Polish people to fight for their freedom.

Especially if they were armed to the teeth with the correct weaponry for a Guerrilla war

I did read about the militia, and I will join when a unit is setup near me. but " Target size is 1"20k initially." this needs to grow to about 1 million

Arms and munition need to stored and be available in every city, town and village, lets see if an aggressor has the means to take out that kind of spread of munitions and arms , It would be a lot harder to hit than a few nato bases that's for sure.
