Life / Are Poles mentally more Eastern European or Western European? [171]

Yes, exactly, that's what I wrote. Texas09 was writing about comparisons used by Poles, not by foreigners.

Of course. You can call Lublin the Paris of Poland as much as you want amongst the Polish people. If you are happy with it, so be it.

*sigh* + *facepalm*

I am not sure what that means.

*smh*

Again....not sure.

Then read with understanding next time.

Difficult for the above reason

In Poland by Poles.

Well there you go. What Poles think in Poland about Polish cities. Hardly what foreigners think about your cities is it?

I have heard the expression "Paris of ........" many times. Poland was never mentioned........

*rolls eyes*

No need to roll your beautiful eyes :)

I've never heard of Kraków as being referred to as "Paris of Poland"

Paulina, you have to learn a lot! Nobody will refer to Krakow as anything else but a good drinking pit. If people are talking about a second Paris they talk about Lviv in Ukraine or Bukarest in Romania, not any city in Poland...........

Love / Are Polish men handsome to you? [182]

on average both men and women are ugly.

It's a good thing that we all have individual taste.

Regarding men, well as a man I tend not to look at their facial structures or other things too much. It simply does not interest me. With regards to how they dress, again in most cases it is something that I do not spend too much time worrying about. Although, i find it odd to work with men who think that wearing red or green trousers to the office is normal. But hey, who am i to judge right?

Regarding women, I find women in Poland or any other Slavic country to be particularly well groomed and feminine (being feminine is not a bad thing in case some activist is reading this). Every day when i walk into the office, when i see the girls come to work i wonder "Surely, they don't wake up like that" and wonder how much time they must invest every morning to look as perfect as they do.

Life / Is a prescription needed to get morning after pills in Poland? [34]

Umm dont one has to be responsible to not drink and drive?

Yes, that is why any responsible person takes precautions i.e. leaving the car at home or they leave keys with friends, arrange taxis upfront or have a designated driver in the group (worst job ever in my opinion).

or when one drinks with his mom or sis does one try to have sex with them in drunken state?

Jeso........

Genealogy / Want to find a person [756]

Are you sure it is in germany

Yes, in Germany it is illegal to post a public appeal in the likes of "Searching this and this person. Any advise or hints would be appreciated". That's reserved for law enforcement only i.e. official searches by the police seeking the help of the public.

and we talked for like over an hour and i want to talk her again

As i said, quite creepy. If she would want to talk to you again, surely she would have left her email address, phone number or simply would have emailed / chatted with you again, no?

Genealogy / Want to find a person [756]

I would be interested in the legal implications "private" searches for particular people on the Internet can have in Poland. I know that in Germany it is against the law to search for someone by using name and photos (or any other revealing material) on social media sites or forums. In worst case scenario the person who runs the forum can be held responsible.

Can any of the mods or perhaps the person who runs the forum clarify on this?

I find it extremely weird that again and again people come on here searching for others and reveal (as happened in another thread) personal information and photos. Is it just me who finds that extremely creepy?

Work / Looking for a Job Non-EU living in Lodz [13]

You could try top language jobs, there you would find the jobs with the multinationals in Lodz. The biggest one is a BPO. If you speak a language other than English, you would almost certainly have a foot in the door already. Ideally they are looking for people with languages and finance background, but mostly language skills are enough. However, you have to be aware of the fact that if you are a graduate with no experience at all, you may well spend 2 1/2 years in the company before moving up the ladder into a managerial position. With a bit of luck, it could be 2 years.

Berlitz language school is always looking for English teachers (as an alternative to BPO or SSC).

No need to get upset. My question was actually serious. I am trying to understand what it is you are looking for, to see whether or not it is realistic.

You have to understand that going up the managerial ladder may not be as easy as you believe it is. You have to have something special to offer, otherwise why would they choose you over a local person?

I did not mean to offend or upset you.

I would manage people that speak English.

And what do you bring to the table that a local Polish person with fluent English can not offer?

Law / UK connected flights and Karta Pobytu (non-EU country) [7]

If you are simply transferring onto a another plane in London, then like almost all other countries, you need to get a transit visa.

Since when does transferring onto another flight require a transit visa? That would only apply if you land in Heathrow but take another flight from Gatwick, i.e. you are leaving the airport. If you transfer within the same airport you simply stay in the transfer zone. No need for a transit visa.

UK, Ireland / Why Polish girls working in UK as escort more than other Eastern European girls [89]

I find that to be quite racist and unless you can actually proof that the majority of punters in the UK (or anywhere else for that matter) are from the Middle East, I would be careful with such statements. At the end it only makes you look like some bitter bigot holding a personal grudge against people from a specific region or religion.

While I don't necessarily agree with the OP, i must admit that i found your speech to be quite theatrical. I am not sure when you have been to Poland last, but unless the girls that I meet in bars and clubs around the country are on a church evening out, I think that their catholic way of life does not reach beyond the borders of the Easter or Christmas holidays (which i do not mind at all).

I think you should think about what nationalities and types of men buy sex, and what that says about them.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with it (as long as the women are not being physically forced). It is not my cup of tea, but coming from a rather "open minded" country, I can not see how going to a working girl would say anything about a man himself. What i don't like however are men who preach about morals and then act against their words when nobody is watching.

UK, Ireland / Why Polish girls working in UK as escort more than other Eastern European girls [89]

still no one answered my Q

Why do you think that is?

Perhaps because hardly (if anyone) on this forum works in this field and knows why the girls choose the UK?

However, you must be pretty naive (or blind) if you think that only because Polish girls are actually listed on those websites, that they make up the majority of central / eastern European girls working as prostitutes in the UK.

There is a good chance that Moldovan and Ukrainian girls would make up a much larger number. In most cases, you just would not see it, not even the authorities do.

But surely, such a great "punter" as you does not pay interest to that........

Travel / Why most taxis in Warsaw cheat foreigners to get more money? [38]

Most are ok and the bigger firms usually take care of their reputation.

Of course, generally taxis in Poland are ok. I have had it sometimes that a driver would take a different road, allowing him to earn 1 zloty more, however cheating himself out of a 2 zloty tip which i normally give to drivers who go the right and the quickest way.

I guess we can all agree that a statement such as "charging foreigners ten times more" is utter nonsense.

Travel / Any bar/club doing ladies night in Warsaw? [12]

This quy seem to the have never entered for Free. or may be enjoys paying even at places

Not that i particularly enjoy paying for getting into a club. I am happy if i don't have to. But i am not running around searching for freebies, even searching for them online and asking in forums.

It does not matter where you are from. I think that asking for free entry to a club as a man and then possibly try to act like a "player" whilst inside the club is a bit "poor". If you can't afford the entrance to a club stay at home, no matter which country you are from or live in.

Travel / Any bar/club doing ladies night in Warsaw? [12]

On these forums, there has to be a guy on each post who has to come and joke around

You are right. And i am sorry but i do find it quite funny that someone is asking for free entry to clubs in Poland (even in Warsaw) where the admission in most places costs you less than a pint in most western countries.......
