News / Poland: A Successful case of low criminality in Europe? [97]

Today the crime rates are not significantly bigger than in the 60s and considerably smaller than in the 70s.

Life / Concerns of a Swede who is about to go to Poland for work [53]

Especially the women. Even though we dont lack beautiful women in Sweden(on the contrary), the women in Poland were special in a Way. Also, i liked the more conservative mentality, which we totally have lost in Sweden.

I know that this is a bit off topic but your impressions are exactly the same that i have!

In My country (Brazil) there is no lack of beautiful woman, but the morals and the conservativeness of the Polish woman just make them WAY FAR SUPERIOR.

It is like an oasis :)

Now answering to your question: No, you will not suffer racism. I lived in 2011 in a poor city in Poland (Lodz) and now i go to Warsaw very month and i never experienced a single bit of racism.

The concern is less about skin color and more about religion, but since you are a catholic, you will not have any problem.

Travel / Suggestion for nightlife in Poland [28]

"1) will I find mid 20 aged girls at bars n clubs?"

Yes

"2)are the women easy to approach?"

Depends the way that you approach. In general, more difficult than girls from places like Barcelona, Goa, Casablanca or Santiago.

Dont be creepy or look like a desperate single, just be friendly, respectful and it will be ok.

"3)Are they pretty or hot/ worth the effort?"

Depends of your aesthetic standards. I Find most of them pretty average.

"4) are clubs and bars pocket friendly ? "

If you want expensive clubs, you can find. But most of them will not be expensive. Instead of select by price, most clubs that i saw select by door policy.

Love / Are Polish men chauvinistic? [35]

I'm in love with a Polish guy.
just want to ask:
Are Polish guys male chauvinism?

No.

Polish men are not chauvinist. Actually i find them pretty hard working, humble, realistic and honest.

I Really don't understand how so many polish girls don't give the proper value to the Polish manhood.

Probably most of them need to get disappointed after their first "exotic" relationship with a foreigner after see the sad reality.

Love / Are Polish men chauvinistic? [35]

Which woman dreams of "being disappointed" before meeting her real love?

No one needs that. I didn't mean that a girl needs to get disappointed (neither a man, neither no one)

Maybe my post was badly written (or your interpretation was), but explaining better what i said:

A Lot of people (girls, man) have the bias of see the other garden greener. I heard, INUMEROUS TIMES, people saying stupidities like " Oh, i don't want to date a Polish, they are dumb and have no future"

Few months later the girl appear dating a Bengali or a Albanian.

I am not saying that the Albanians or Bengalis aren't good, that would be a stupid generalization, my critic here is for the HUMONGUOUS amount of imbecilities that i hear Polish Girls talking about polish guys ("They have no future" "they are uneducated" etc etc etc0 and polish guys talking about polish girls ("They are nuts" "They want money' etc).

Look at this Forum and you will see a good sample of those idiotic statements.

Better now? Understood my point?

You would never be able to date a woman (whether Polish or not) who is successful or has an idea of what she wants in life?

I already have my pair and actually she is pretty ambitious, so... no ;)

Love / Are Polish men chauvinistic? [35]

Wow what you are saying is that there's an entire country where the females think the men are useless and males think the girls are nuts.

No, i didnt said that there is a entire country like that. There is no place in my phrase where "entire country" is written and i made no generalization, i even said that i was referring to the examples that we see on THIS FORUM, and not extending that to the entire population (what is kinda obvious by the way)

I am responsible for what i wrote, not for what your mind understand.

Actually if you had a minimum text interpretation skill, you would realize that i am saying exactly the opposite of what you think, and criticizing idiotcs that make generalizations about poles.

But i am too tired to explain such basic things to people that are lazy to read carefully.

Love / Are Polish men chauvinistic? [35]

This is the kind of stupidity that i am talking about.

I am not even pole, but it is pretty sad see poles making this kind of ridiculous statements about themselves. And then some of them think that the guy from Albania or Bangladesh is better and then when they realize that it is not, well... it is gone.

History / Was the holocaust by Germans in Poland the worse genocide in history? [210]

The polish genocide was terrible, but not even close to be the worst genocide in history.

If you talk about percentage of population exterminated, for example, less than 20% of the Polish population was killed by the Nazis.

In comparison, Astonishing 64% of the Armenian population was killed by the turkish in 1915. (Those that were not killed were forced to convert to Islam). This means 1,5 million people. (Remembering that just 20 years before that, in 1985, the Turkish already massacrated 300 thousand Christian Armenians during the Hamidian Massacres)

In this same year, unbealivable 83% of the Christian Assyrian population was exterminated by Turkish. That means 750 thousand assyrians.

Not to mention the 300 thousand of Christian greeks killed in a timespam of few weeks by the Turkish government.

All that happened less than 100 years ago.

Going a bit further in the past:

In 1756 the Turkic Uyghurs invaded Dzungar and massacrated 80% of the native population. Same happened when the Turkish invaded Romania or the Balkans.

If you want make the Nazis look like Barbies, just take a look at Turkish History, they are the true genocidal state.

History / Was the holocaust by Germans in Poland the worse genocide in history? [210]

@Levi, if an Armenian were fortunate enough to escape from Turkey, unlike in Nazi-held Europe, the Ottoman Empire is far from an analogous example! Her tentacles didn't extend throughout the know continent of Central Asia

You said it to me, but i think that you should read more.

During the genocides, the Ottoman empire was bigger than Nazi Germany :

Ottoman Empire at 1915: 1,800,000 km², From Africa to Asia, taking entire Arabian Peninsula.

This is more than Nazi Germany (630 000 Km2) + Occupied territories in France, Poland, Balkans, East Europe and North Europe (just excluding Africa).

Polonia / BRAZILIAN POLISH PEOPLE [21]

Today i think that one of the new faces of the Brazilian-Polish people is Francisco Lachowski.

His father came from Poland and maternal ancestors from Portugal and Germany. Lachowski began his career in 2009, when as a 17-year-old won the competition organized by the American model agency Ford Models in São Paulo. In the initial period of his career he was covered by the exclusively contract for Dior, and later Lachowski collaborated with such agencies as "Premium Models" from Paris, "Models 1" from London and other

Exactly, if he had also Italian ancestry he would complete the 4 biggest colonies of the South of Brazil. :)

History / Politics of Poland in past, present and future; your opinion [21]

I Think that Poland is one of the country where people choose better their politicians. It is like an oasis in a European Union that is destroying itself from inside by left-wing politicians.

It is just amazing to see that the Leftist party (SLD) have barely 4% of the parliament. When you compare with countries like France or UK (not even talking about Greece, they are the worst case), that are ruining their economies and destroying their own culture with the leftist myth that illegal immigrants are nice and cute, you see how wise and smart the voters in Poland are.

My analysis of each party:

PO / Platforma Obywatelska : In the paper they have great economic ideas (privatization, tax reduction, free market stimulus, cut government spending on welfare, etc), but unfortunately their government is not making all those great ideas reality. On the social issues, they are also great. The fact that they defend polish culture as a catholic country shows that, at least in this point, the party have condition to defend Poland from the external menaces.

PiS / Prawo i Sprawiedliwość: They are not as wise as PO in terms of economy (which means less favourable to a free market, but at least they are anti-socialist). I would not vote for them if i was polish, but they are far away of be so bad as people say. One good point is that they are not afraid of critics when it comes to defend polish culture and heritage against the socialist-atheist that just want to turn poland into another dump.

SLD / Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej: The main left-wing party, full of ex-communists that want back their privileges at the cost of the people. They just miss the old soviet times when they were rich enslaving people under the Socialist regime, and kidnapping or jailing all opposition. Fortunatelly they don't have many votes, otherwise they could destroy poland in few years with they backwards ideas.

United Poland / Solidarna Polska: They have good intentions, but stupid and ignorant ideas of how to develop a country.

Polish Peoples Party / Polskie Stronnictwo Ludowe: Mainly stupid ideas, like spend money subsidizing companies that are inneficient, altought, it is not as bad as most european leftist parties.

Your Movement / Twoj Ruch: Another party full of left-wing "intellectuals" that doesn't understand bollocks about economy and doesn't care nothing about poland, besides their own pockets. Fortunatelly they are small, since poles are wise enough to see the truth behind them.

"Fortunately the fascist nationalist "parties""

It is funny that all left-wing like you calls anyone that defends liberty and freedom, with traditional values and culture, is called a fascist.

When actually, fascism was a left-wing creation. Mussollini was a socialist before everything. So if there is someone fascist here, it is you.

Life / Going to Poland in a hijab - Polish people and Islam [154]

t I know that they don't really 'like' foreigners

I am a foreigner, i lived in Lodz and now i spend one week per month in Warsaw.

I NEVER felt that people hated me.

Why?

Simple: I Respect polish culture and as the phrase says, "When in Rome, act like the romans". So people even like me. From ALL the countries that i had been, together with Lithuania and Georgia, Poland was were i felt more welcome.

By the way, i live in a muslim/arab country and here most western girls feels really unwelcome (me not, since i am a man) just because they use western clothes. Think about that.

Harry, i was considering the percentage of all voters.
If you consider the percentage of those that turned on, then there is the threshold and in that case the SLD have around 8% of the total.

Which still makes them, fortunately, pretty insignificant.

Work / Cost of living in Warsaw with two kids [14]

Remind that the taxes in Poland are pretty high. 3500 Euros gross probably will be around 2800 Euros.

Your life will not be bad, but will be tight on budget. Apartments in a reasonable neighborhood like Ochota will be around 750 Euros per month or more.

Life / Why are Polish so conservative and religious? [240]

Why are Poles so religious?

Because this is part of their culture, it is not bad (in my personal concept, is a huge benefit) and the catholic church was one of the institutions that made the polish resist during their many horrible, difficult moments.

Would you go to Iran and ask why they are religious? Would you go to Israel and ask why they are religious?

No, right? Because this would be a stupid and unrespectful question.

So why make the same question about Poland?

Expats who despise Poland's religious values and traditions have so many other "progressive" and "agnostic" places to chose from.

Very well said, very well said. If you want an atheist society, what are you doing in Poland? Better go to Sweden (before they turn into an Islamic State).

Love / Polish girlfriend told me we cant have sex because I'm not religious [40]

but if I just break up with her, I'll feel very bad of myself

So you wanna make sex even if SHE CLEARLY DOESNT WANT, to make you feel good and make HER feel bad?

The words that i would use to describe you and this attitude unfortunately cannot be written here on Polish Forum.

As just remind you: Poland is a free country. You cannot force a woman to have sex. If you try to do that, you are gonna go to jail, and beaten by the other prisoners. And you will deserve that.

News / Poland have the 3rd best Education System of Europe [49]

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has published its biggest-ever league table of educational attainment in 76 countries, which for the first time includes under-developed and developing nations, as well as richer states.

Poland came in the 9th position overall.

That means that Poland have the 3rd best basic education system of WHOLE EUROPE, just after Estonia and Finland. (Britain?France? Those hyped countries are FAR BELOW Poland). Also, Poland have the 3rd best education of the ENTIRE Western World.

In my understanding, this happens because Poland have the perfect combination of:

1 - A developed education system.

2 - A Country with morale and values (maybe that is because Great Britain scored so low, even with good schools. The political correctness and lack of values damaged the society and kids feel that they don't need to study anymore.)

3 - At Poland people NEED to study or they will have bad lifes. (And this is a GREAT incentive. Today i live in a rich oil monarchy in Arabia that is at one of the bottom places at this ranking. Here people have money to study but most of the native population just don't care for education, since they use the government as ATM machine, and stay uneducated while driving a Maseratti)

2) Culturally homogeneous school-age population: there are few ethnic or immigrant communities in Poland, as such as exist are quite small indeed. While Poland as a whole is poorer than the US, there is no large population of severely disadvantaged youth as there is in the US and other developed countries.

That is a very good point that i missed.

This is, plain and simple, right wing conservative claptrap. Stop watching the O'Reilly factor

So you say that the fact that Poland have more morale and values than other European countries doesn't interfere, right?

Values and Morale bring discipline. Look at the top countries: Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Poland. Ireland.

Now look how extremelly low are "Atheist countries" where virtually all value and morale were replaced by political correctness.

Sweden: Worse than Russia.

France: Under Czech Republic

United Kingdom: Well below Latvia or any major asian country.

Why? Because in Sweden, France or United Kingdom the political correctness patrols doesn't allow parents to discipline their kids accordingly. And the values of the society are gone on those countries.

7) Religious education in public schools is a scandalous racket that is fundamentally morally corrupt.

Put prejudices aside and see, again, how atheist education systems scored welll below Poland.

The so called atheist systems of France, England or Sweden are a tremendous failure of underachieved students.

Now look at the performance of the only two countries in the UE that have Religion Classes: Ireland and Poland.

Law / Anybody adept in requirements for non-EU citizens to start business in Poland? [39]

If I will not get a visa or residence permit so what about my investments that will return or not

Actually to start the visa process you will need to have a complete business plan + prove that you have money enough to do your business, start it and survive with it for a time. Also you will need to emmploy at least 2 Poles.

Besides that, your residence permit will not be permanent (if your business close, you lose it) for quite a time.

If you start a business withou have all approvals and visas, you have a huge chance of lose all your money.

I Know because i am starting to go through all this process. I Would like to warn you that NEVER invest all your capital in a business, since there are much more chances that you will fail than succeed. Specially when investing in a country with total different rules than yours.

Yes, it is party of the discussion since we are comparing why the Polish Educational system is so succesfull when compared to failures like French or English system.

By the way, if you use Google Chrome, it translates automatically French to English if you want. And pretty accuratelly.

News / Poland have the 3rd best Education System of Europe [49]

he British/French students don't need to prove anything, they don't feel social pressure to be educated,

Exactly! Because the political correctness left-wing troops from those countries convinced everyone that kids should not suffer pressure to be educated or they will have traumas (WHAT A JOKE!!!!)

In Poland there is no Left-Wing Political Correctness so this is inexistent. The parents of my polish friends crushed them HARD if they had bad grades at school.

Nowadays one of them is studing at MIT. What a Trauma... hahaha

Same applies to those countries from Asia (Japan, Singapore, Korea): If the kid fails at school there, the parents will make the kid have a bad time. So the kids make their best effort in school and them become educated and successful.

Universities may be a different story because I don't think Poland has the private sector that donates millions upon millions of USD every year (tax write offs) to build and operate them like the United States does.

That is a very good point. Now that Poland is a capitalist country, soo those that are more talented will start to earn real money (some of them already do). So maybe soon Polish Universities should establish a way to receive donations.

When (and if) i get rich, i will easily donate money to my university. And i think that most people would do the same.

USA, Canada / 10 things that show you are Polish [24]

Yes, but here in Poland (and everywhere else, other than the USA) the word is used correctly. Very few Poles would consider a person to be Polish just because one of his great-grandparents was Polish.

The Majority of the Armenians that are know are not born in Armenia but actually from Argentina, Brazil, USA, Canada...

Same applies for Lebaneses and Israelis.

I Think that this is a caracteristic of nationalities that suffered big diasporas. Like Poland.

Law / As a foreigner non EU citizen working in Poland, can I get visa for my spouse? [34]

1) You can work in Poland only if you have a work permit. The fact that your husband have one doesn't apply to you.

2) No

3) You can be hired only after you have the permit

4) It is very unlikely unless you have a really outstanding formation. Remember that the polish population is highly educated so the competition for skilled jobs is fierce.
