Genealogy / Do Polish people have big noses? [450]

I would call it The Nose and Fella Adequate Technique.

I have a big nose (in real life looks bigger than on a picture) so I also have a big fella. You know what I mean ;].

I am finding it difficult reading the numbers on the ruler, despite being short-sighted.

You can try a custom technique tha should for you: :]

If you want to tell this to an adult person and you are a male, you could say: "Tak do kurwy nedzy, jestem Polakiem".

Zajebista/zajebiscie/zajebisty are slogan, swear words. Actually you could also translate it using only one word: "great" or "awsome," but since the term "zajebista" derive from the swear words "jebac" [to fcuk] or "zajebac" [to fcuk up, fcuk], the best Polish translation is "fcuking great" or "fcuking awsome."

Travel / Best places to visit in Poland [91]

I think you should still be fine in Warsaw as it's the fastest developing city in Poland. If you need more "fresh air" Gdansk or Krakow will be good choices for sure..

I know a good one (in Polish) -- I was told this in my school years and I'll remember it until the rest of my life... since it was pretty much embarrasing to hear that in the presence of 20 other students. I tried to be funny and one of the girls told me: "Ale zes zablysnal jak widly w gnoju." Don't know how to properly translate it though (help :).

Life / Exam for Drivers License in Poland; English? [99]

I passed on the third time - the driving was more difficult than theory; fortunately I took a couple of *private lessons* with the instructor who "was said to knew the examinator" -- maybe it helped? :)

For American friends here I should mention that in Poland there are not so many one-way streets; streets are not that wide; and you had to drive a stick-shift. When I was passing the exam you were supposed to drive the examiner's car - usually the one you have seen and driven for the first time in your life :).

Genealogy / Want to find a person [762]

People searchers - if you pay somene he/she'll find the guy ;). Phone books may work unless the person is not delisted. ID numbers -- not as advanced like in the US where soon chips in head will become "popular" ;).

Food / What is your favorite Polish Vodka? [653]

Not when you get used to it... A normal healthy man can drink a couple of beers every day (could be addictive on the long run though so be careful)..

I'll ask bolo which one he prefers.

It doesn't matter how you call it - what matters is what you can do with it... :)

Love / English Men vs Polish Men [207]

I used to open doors for a woman, but now I seldom do it because women are now in such competition with men that I feel opening a door for a woman would show my weakness.. :)

I wonder why most of tourist sites have not been available in the English versions yet. I can see lost business opportunities there...
