News / Polish hero pilot lands 767 without wheels. (Warsaw) [191]

you are the troll on this forum .

Perhaps you could avoid insulting people?

PWEI - I repeat again my question which you may answer if you wish , was there any similar landing like this one in the history of aviation ?

Just look at the photos I posted of belly landings. And here are more of them:

737 belly

C-17 belly

News / UPC Poland delivers 150Mbps in Lublin [10]

It makes me laugh when here in little ole Lubelska we are referred to as Poland 'B' and having travelled to many areas of Poland in my 14 years of living here I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. :0)

And you have the best beer in Poland down there too!

JonnyM: previous crashes at Warsaw

What the hell are you talking about ? What crashes are you talking about ? There were just 3 .

Three crashes at Warsaw means that there were previous crashes at Warsaw.

Don`t distort my posts , I asked about similar cases in my post .

You said "But for a jumbo jet like 767 landing without landing gear I think it was the first time in history ."

From what you posted there is no similar case of landing without the landing gear .

Please either show me the undercarriage in this picture (which I posted) or admit that your statement above is a lie:

historyofpia.com/apayw2b_acdp1.jpg

Both 747 and 767 are wide body aircrafts with similar capacity 747 - 366 seats

366 is the minimum: there are 747s out there that are designed to seat 550 and one once took off with 1,087 official passengers and landed with 1,089 officially on board (the real number was 1,122). But don't let facts get in the way of your posts.

More proof you know nothing about aviation.

Sad really, given that she's the daughter of a Polish airforce commander and discusses aviation issues with him.

Life / Is it possible to bring cellphone, cigarette by post package from South Korea to Poland? [8]

Although the phone was used, I must pay for tax??
That's not new one, just used phone.
And I wanna receive only 1 phone that is used for 5 month in Korea.
So I don't understand the policy in Poland.

Yes you must pay tax, about 30% of the value (and you must be able to prove the value).

You can have cigarettes posted in but you'll have to pay tax on them too (more than 30%).

A 767 is not a Jumbo jet: a 747 is a Jumbo jet.

As for your claim that no pilot has ever been so skilled in the past:

PIA Jumbo belly landing

PIA Jumbo belly landing

NWA Jumbo without nose gear

Do let me know if you want photos of belly landings by 777, 737, C-17, etc.

Then I asked if someone could find any case of jumbo jet landing without the landing gear .

Can you find an example of a Jumbo jet landing without any landing gear? No, you can not. But don't let truth get in the way of your posts.

As for examples of belly landings, here's one from the very same month when a Turkish 737 suffered the collapse of half its undercarriage and the pilot slid it to a stop with no injuries:

arabianaerospace.aero/sky-airlines-has-landing-gear-collapse-at-antalya.html?utm_source=googleNews&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=news_feed

So , now you may apologise me for your mistake .

When are you planning to apologise for your claim that you asked for cases of Jumbo jets landing without landing gear?

Didn't the guy spend an hour going around the airport before landing? that's what I heard, maybe he knew and was running out of fuel and made the call?

Perhaps Sky can comment as to whether or not burning off excess fuel is SOP.

Considering the "other" accident has already been mentioned here this is a pretty morbid analogy, wouldn't you say? :(

Not really. My point was that all possible causes must be taken into account and until it is eliminated, that includes pilot error. There most certainly have in the past been times when pilots were first called heroes and later found to be very much at fault (the Kegworth crash springs to mind).

infect it was the idiot pilot that forgot to lower the landing gear.

Forgetting to lower the undercarriage before landing would be as stupid as forgetting to pull up when the terrain warning system is shouting at you to pull up when you can not see the runway, i.e. no chance of it happening.

Language / A typical quality of book translation from English to Polish? [28]

Considering the number of excellent writers Poland produced, the availability of translations is pathetic.

Krajewski's stuff is being translated and released slowly but the translator manages to make three mistakes in just the info page and the title page!

BTW it has been just said that the maintenance was performed by the american staff in Newark . So , blaming Polish stuff is a wrong path from now on.

That is somewhat unlikely. LOT prefers to take care of routine maintenance in-house, which is entirely understandable given their financial state.

Update from the Prague airport Marriott: both runways at Warsaw airport will remain closed until 4am tomorrow morning. LOT have responded to this by not diverting today's flights to Lodz/Katowice/Poznan/Krakow/etc but simply canceling all flights which were scheduled to use Warsaw. Brilliant, eh?

News / GERMANS WANT TO GERMANIZE KOPERNIK (COPERNICUS)! OUTRAGE! [1016]

I naively thought the somewhat multicultural family history of Kopernik would be inspirational and really (in my opinion) puts Poland in a rather positive light.

It would do, were there not a problem with certain Poles claiming that Copernicus was 100% Polish and so demonstrating the problems that some in this country (and more plastic Poles in the US) have with truth in history and racism.

Among the top ten famous British is Isaak Newton who is not British , he is Jewish . But no one claims in a wiki he is Jewish or says he is 40 % British 60 % Jewish because of his mother Hannah , a Jewess.

He was British and Jewish.

MikoĊ‚aj Kopernik was of course Polish .

Pity that we aren't talking about a man who ever used that name for himself.

News / GERMANS WANT TO GERMANIZE KOPERNIK (COPERNICUS)! OUTRAGE! [1016]

And Poland repays Serbia back by believing all the BS spread in the media about the Serbs being demons.

Not demons: genocidal rapists. And not BS: facts confirmed by numerous courts of law.

But do feel free to keep blindly chanting "My enemy's enemy is my friend. My enemy's enemy is my friend. My enemy's enemy is my friend. My enemy's enemy is my friend." Right up until they rape your mother and sister and then murder you after you've watched.

Sources he called himself German , pls

I'm not claiming he considered himself to be German, so I don't need to provide such.

In fact I'd very much argue against the notion that he considered himself to be German. Just as I'd very much argue against the notion that he considered himself to be Polish.

And the truth is, most of the people in that region of what is now northern Poland, including Kopernik, were at least partly of mixed heritage.

You hit the nail on the head there. Sadly some Poles and 'Poles' disagree with you.

Not all the Germans were of their ilk, nor were all Poles saints. History is never so clean.

How many Poles have you met?
