Australia / Your new PM, A question for Aussies, and anyone living there. [20]

If a PM for example, a man, is good looking he will have all the women's attention even if he's incompetent and really should not have that job. Have you ever seen women eagerly anticipating what some fat bald elderly politician has to say? ;)

The only example I can think of of a politician with debonnaire, is Sarkozy, and he is French.... That says everything about lust and politics in that country...

But men get ass because of power not irrespective of it. Look at that Italian clown - Berlusconi...

But thats not too funny when its in the middle of the news reports about the terrible floods.

No it's not you heartless bastard...;P I guess it's better than her being attractive because then you'd be ogling... ;)

Either way you'd be scrutinizing.... She is after all a woman and *must* be put in the ugly or shaggable category... ;)

Could she not just be defined as a politician?

Love / Polish girls pretend to be sick and ill most of the time [35]

No, that's when they attend their monthly witch Covens in the woods... Srsly! Look there and you'll find them sacrificing males of any species... and smearing their bodies with blood. ;)

News / Poland's atheist loonies have had their 5 minutes [239]

It can in logic and in principle, therefore the Popper distinction holds. One can easily conceive of the kind of evidence that would disprove it were it to exist.

So in a round about way we're stuck with evolution???

Life / I got beaten and kicks in my face just cuz i dont look polish [205]

I was sure someone would say that, but I really had a good time in Rotterdam. I met a lot of great people, I went out and had loads of fun, one of my best friends live there...

You certainly don't need to be in paradise to have fun... quite the opposite.

You didn't think that I was talking about defending PL men with my own body, did you Ashley? Cause I was just talking about defending them in a discussion, on a forum etc.

Hmm, well either way it's taking sides and condoning violence. There's no sides when both parties are acting out of stupidity.

I'm glad you survived your mugging incident and can put it behind you... Do you still hold grudges?

Well, than it's your problem.

No, it's my way of avoiding them.

No way we can understand each other.

Not if we don't try...
The situation is, men fight and justify their fights on the basis of their manhood, something I don't profess to understand. But out of observation, it's usually something very trivial that sets guys off (in most cases) and I imagine they wouldn't be able to explain why they get so agro anyway...

Of course women fight too, but for the purposes of this discussion I am talking about men having it out with each other as they do, most commonly, after a few beers and when the dark side takes over...

I would never (anymore) step in when that is taking place... unless I really felt that both guys were so drunk as to not be able to exact any sort of damage to me.

I try not to defend or get involved in any sort of violence... Because it makes everyone a victim.

Polish men punch very weakly. But this is the case with most men except Russians of whom many know box.

No kidding! My Uncle was a Soviet boxer. Big guy. Not happy unless he was punching something, but otherwise as sweet as pie. ;)

Of course it should not be considered the norm, but it happens. When it happened to me I didn't go posting all over internet suggesting that Rotterdam is one crazy place to live in.

Welcome to Polish Forums... ;)

Totally agree on that. I would also like to walk the streets of Kraków freely, without seeing crazy, drunk, half-naked Brits, puking and pissing all over the place.

Why should we have all of them... ;)

Then, maybe it's because our men are more tough and actually know how to fight? Hence Polisih men get in fight rather than get beaten up, while the delicate foreigners rather get their fragile butts kicked?

They're just getting some boxing practice in... (Why do men fight? Good question!)

But if you correlate the assult statistics by proportion of Poles/foreigners in PL, I'm sure foreigners would be overrepresentated in getting beaten up.

That's because guys that smile (foreigners) are interpreted as trying to provoke some sort of aggressive response - bringing about morbid body rage in the somewhat less highly developed Polish male.

USA, Canada / Moved back from Canada to Poland:). Here are the reasons why. [868]

The main streets are clear, but the sidewalks and many other streets are full of ice.
Looks like the part of the city I am in is becoming a big skating ring.

Be careful out there. We have devastating floods... wanna swap?

It all makes us tougher.

Work / What is the average age of graduate students in Poland? [17]

Difference is you can *get* a job with just a Bachelor's degree in the States, therefore the impetus to complete one's Master studies straight away isn't there. For the same reasons there are more kids who possibly take some time out before entering tertiary study... e.g. the notorious 'gap year' in the UK.

Plus education (I believe) is free in Poland (subsidised) and therefore to make living costs more manageable, kids study straight out of high school and just continue to live at home or take that step to move out with financial help from their parents.

I also think US and other English based Universities attract more foreign students and mature students who may be enhancing their education after having moved abroad, and therefore present a headier mix of student age groups.
