News / Coal-Powered Poland Refuses to "Go Green". EU Ain't Happy. [304]

Eminent Australian scientist Professor Frank Fenner, who helped to wipe out smallpox, predicts humans will probably be extinct within 100 years, because of overpopulation, environmental destruction and climate change.

Fenner, who is emeritus professor of microbiology at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra, said homo sapiens will not be able to survive the population explosion and "unbridled consumption," and will become extinct, perhaps within a century, along with many other species. United Nations official figures from last year estimate the human population is 6.8 billion, and is predicted to pass seven billion next year.

Fenner told The Australian he tries not to express his pessimism because people are trying to do something, but keep putting it off. He said he believes the situation is irreversible, and it is too late because the effects we have had on Earth since industrialization (a period now known to scientists unofficially as the Anthropocene) rivals any effects of ice ages or comet impacts.

Travel / Poland or Philippines? Which is better for a vacation? (sex tourism) [39]

"Last week I said it was more likely for a Polish woman in her forties to be attacked by a bear than find a husband. Well, I've tried online dating and I was wrong. It is more likely that a single Polish woman in her thirties will be attacked by a one legged giraffe than find a husband. Ok, let's get straight into this - I went online as two people: my male persona was a 35 year old man, an architect called, 'Tom'. I gave Tom a ******** profile full of clichés ('I like long walks in the rain...') Tom was wealthy and he wanted to 'provide for his woman'. Within 6 hours, and without a photo, he had 482 Polish women visiting his profile and an inbox full of offers with some wanting to meet him straight away without getting to know him.

The female; she was an independent Polish woman who we will call 'Ania'. She worked for herself, had a postgraduate degree and supplied an attractive photo. For Ania, I used a real profile from a friend of mine. It was witty, intelligent and down to earth, with no clichés or corny mottoes. No one went near her. No one.

I won't tell you the name of the site, but it should be called, 'Welcome to the World of Desperate Women'. After 3 days Tom had thousands of visitors and hundreds of offers. The women who contacted him were highly educated and attractive with the majority of them being in their thirties."

notesfrommiddleearth.wordpress.com/ (scroll down for Dating Part II)

So much to my surprise and disappointment USA rocks!, your initial hunch that Poland somehow would be a fertile ground for sex-tourism was right on the money, as long as it's an online hook-up. Read the article I posted in my previous post. One would think it was written about Moldova or Ukraine but, sadly, it's still Poland anno 2015. I have no reason to distrust the author. Paeder de Burca, a resident Irish journalist, is as hilarious as he is crushingly spot-on in his observations about Poland. Here is another excerpt that should really fit your neanderthal psyche:

"There is nothing as attractive as a real-life, chance meeting with a powerful, confident woman who has a highly developed sense of self. But on these sites, women's power is reduced. They are not women any more but products, disposable not after a year or a few months but after 10 minutes. My overwhelming feeling from using the site as Tom, was that I was shopping, the women like items on a supermarket shelf begging for my attention."

Life / Polish people and TV Series - so good and hilariously spot on :) [99]

Out of the current crop of TV Serial headliners, Mad Men has made the least impact in Poland. Few follow it and I think I know why. The smoking, the vertigo-inducing ties, the tacky décor, the smoking, the incessant boozing during office hours, the pre-feminism sexism, but most of all the smoking - this is Poland 2015. Mad Men isn't that enjoyable for you because you aren't as far removed from it as, let's say, Game of Thrones, which is Poland circa 1921.

Love / Woman 28 single, too late for a relationship with a Polish man? [67]

No, your friends told you bs, the average age for people getting married in Poland moved up recently just like everywhere else in Europe

nope, Polish people marry the youngest within the European Union (24 years old for women and 26.5 years old for men in average).

Love / Polish women: what do you think of Polish men? Physically unattractive? [180]

I know what you feel mate

How I fare in the looks department is completely irrelevant to the issue at hand and you know that. And if, as you have just admitted, staring into the mirror makes you feel like you're the prettiest man on earth, imbibed or not, it is clearly you having the objectivity problem.

Damn, you have some issues, dude o_O

No issues, just a pair of eyes and a discerning mind, combined with the fact that I've just been traveling through quite a few European countries, after having been away from the western hemisphere for 3 years, which really gives one the advantage of seeing things and its tiny details with the proverbial 'fresh eyes'. Henceforth differences in facial features were very easy and actually quite interesting to observe. Well, if that is an issue for you, then I guess you like anyone else are entitled to your opinion. I saw what I saw, and I stand by it, cheers.

Genealogy / Ancestors from Galicia - does this mean you are Polish? [19]

Would you consider religion between Catholicism and Greek Catholicism to be the answer.

generally yes, particularly (and rather ironically) the Greek Catholic Church is widely accredited with having preserved the Ruthenian (Ukrainian) culture.

Ok let me rephrase it for you, there are very few 'extraordinarily' handsome men in Poland, much much fewer than in certain other countries, to the point of the phenomena being commented upon. Take a stroll down town Copenhagen or Stockholm and then try Warsaw, you'll see what I mean. Have a great day :)

I still think any woman with dignity should aware a man about that. Just imagine your dick schtupping a woman's vagina while getting smothered in another man's sperm load.

Did I miss something here or we're just waiting for some Polish woman to weigh in on it? By all means gentlemen, do continue ;)

According to the topic title you are not even supposed to type in here but I guess your frustration is not letting you stay silent...

it's an open forum and I really haven't been prolific here for a long time. You would notice that this thread is a continuation from the thread about Polish women in UK having 4 times as much sex as in Poland, where fstop's post started it. Don't fret, my enthusiasm for PF will evaporate very soon but I've just returned from Poland and this is still fresh in my mind so I really couldn't care less what sort of 'rules and regulations' so-called patriots read into the thread title.

What am I telling you is that empirically you will spot more handsome men there, Holland definitely. As my gay friend from SF, who's just been to Holland, said: Amsterdam guys -hot!

Personally I do see a lot of handsome guys from France, not to mention Scandinavia, Poland truly pales by comparison.

It's not unusual for them to have sex with at least two different German men in the same night lol.

You are probably referring to Techno party scene where MDMA flows in abundance and most of us know what a lovely (literally) effect it has. On the side note I don't understand people trying to slut-shame girls and yes I do love MDMA :) - now everybody watch Madzia laying into me with drug addiction accusations ;)

sorry, I forgot your English leaves a lot to be desired.

The question mark was a sign of my incredulity over your presumption but let's not dwell on the subject of your comprehension skills any longer

Were those Polish females ever abroad?

Of course they were, which is exactly why they were able to compare. (It's only 5 and a half hour from Warsaw to Berlin by train and many go there to party.)

We are veering off the subject here, handsome is handsome, doesn't matter where from. What I am referring to is the noticeably low numbers of handsome men in Poland. Spent a lot of time in Warsaw (various social events, night-life etc) and went on a road-trip across Poland to Prague stopping frequently (Poznan, Wroclaw, Walbrzych, Szklarska Poreba etc) Saw tons of people. I have no reason nor any agenda prompting me to make false claims. Granted it's a touchy subject as exemplified by Madzia's hysteria and ad-hominem knee-jerking but that's what happens when objectivity goes out the window.

If Poland had beaches with men laying around all day tanning.....perception would be different.

Spent some time in Mazury as well, chilling on a rather crowded grassy lake beach, nope maestro no slavic Adonises there either, just a bunch of speedophiles.

Appart from revealing your insecurities you haven't pointed anything out. This topic is about Polish women giving their opinion and you come here throwing a temper tantrum like a little boy who lost his toy. Man up.

This one made me chuckle, what sort of insecurity would that be prey tell? Temper tantrum...? I'm mere relaying my observations which as it turns out are being confirmed by many, you're the one on a frantic defense mission to prove I must have been hallucinating and imagining things, posting a picture of some Polish athlete as the irrefutable proof of your 'argument'. I'd say that's a bit emotional (emotional being euphemism for pathetic). And by the way my observation doesn't get any less valid just because I'm not a Polish woman, even though the issue did come up in a few conversations while in Poland (with Polish females), why? Because it is very noticeable, particularly for someone from outside. All my friends visiting Poland say exactly the same thing; Polish women yes, Polish men meh.

a native English speaker makes it even more laughable xD

Last time I checked Danish is the native language of Denmark

It's really amusing how the truth is hurting you that you went as far as insulting me

Truth doesn't bother me, stupidity on the other hand can be annoying, hence me pointing yours out.

long time ago there was a survey for the most handsome player in the national German team and Lucas Podolski won it xD

Oh boy here we go again, another Moania in the making. Again your comprehension skills, never said handsome men of Polish extraction didn't exist, they do but they are indeed very rare. Go ahead post another picture of a handsome Pole if it makes you feel better, and do grow up while you are at it.

some of the Polish and Russian ones at least do have some vestiges of masculine features - like sharp cheekbones and strong chins.

exactly what I'm talking about, to be precise the lack thereof - male slavic faces are quite round, the square features you have to be looking for elsewhere

he Germanic influence on Poland (cultural and genetic) is indisputable, you should know that as a Pole (flagless or not).

I do know that, what is your point? There was this chart floating around this forum showing the genetic makeup of various European countries, Czech had the highest Germanic admixture of all Slavic countries, Poland coming second.

Oh for crying out loud I'm not talking about behavioral differences. Facial features, plain and simple.

FlaglessPole, your ideas about genetics are ridiculous

Ideas about genetics? Please do work on your comprehension skills. One doesn't have to be a professor in genetics to know that the physical appearance is their manifestation. I'm just talking about my observations from recent trip to Poland and Czech Republic. Obviously I visited Denmark as well, would you like to know how Polish men compare to Scandinavian ones? For the sake of civility let's assume that was a rhetorical question.

I'm Polish and I think men from other coutries aren't any better than Polish men.

Well good for you. I guarantee you that male model agencies do not consider Poland their prime recruiting territory, far from it, other countries take the lead in that respect.

Now it's my word against yours. ;-p

yes and no, however my observations are corroborated by many others, the phenomena being so noticeable.

Then give me facts backing up the claim that Czechs

Germanic influence on Czech republic (cultural and genetic) is indisputable, you should know that as a Czech.

I also find German men quite uninteresting visually.

So you do, many don't. Heard quite a few opinions by Polish girls visiting for example Berlin as to the rather perceptible spike in male attractiveness over there.
